2 DR. ROBERTO BARONE He graduated in Medicine and Surgery with a specialization in Dentistry at the University of Florence. He owns a Private Practice in Florence where he devoted himself exclusively to oral surgery and implantology. Founding member of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery, of which he was president since 1999 to He is Author of scientific articles in Italian and international magazines and of books on oral surgery topics. Speaker at conferences and congresses on oral surgery and implantology, he organizes with Dr. Clauser courses in oral surgery and implant, both at basic and advanced levels.

Founding member of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery, of which he was president since 1999 to 2000.

3 PROGRAM A new way of thinking about oral surgery This course describes a new method of working in oral surgery, based on periodontal and minimally-invasive principles. For the first time the technical learning develops only through the direct vision of surgeries. Interactive tutorials on surgical diagnostic and treatment planning alternate clinical sections. The central topics of the course are the extractions of complex wisdom teeth at risk of neurological damage and the treatment of jaw cysts. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM A new way of tackling Oral Surgery Impacted mandibular third molars: a surgical technique at low neurological risk A new approach to the clinical and radiographic study Risk assessment (with practical exercises) Choice of the updated instruments Surgical technique Soft tissue management - safe incision lines to avoid neurological damages - suture technique to improve periodontal outcome Hard tissue management - bone resection with preservation of the periodontal bone peaks - tooth fragmentation: the strategic options for different clinical situations Technical expedients to prevent neurological damage in high risk cases Treatment of large cyst in the office: a conservative surgical approach

The central topics of the course are the extractions of complex wisdom teeth at risk of neurological damage and the treatment of jaw cysts.
