2 ALABAMA COASTAL FOUNDATION (ACF) The ACF is a non-partisan, non-profit membership organization with a mission to improve and protect Alabama s coastal environment through cooperation, education and participation. Since 1993, the goal of the ACF has been to seek common ground among government, business and industry, community groups, and individual citizens in order to work together to address coastal conservation issues. The ACF accomplishes this mission by providing factual information, promoting dialogue and advocating action. ALABAMA LIGHTHOUSE ASSOCIATION (ALA) The mission of the ALA is the historic preservation of Alabama lighthouses. The ALA works to establish support and promote efforts toward the preservation of Alabama Lighthouses through educational programs, newsletters, literature, films, publicity and tours. The group actively works to assist in whatever way possible in the restoration and preservation of lighthouses, lighthouse artifacts and literature through fundraising efforts. ALABAMA GULF SEAFOOD Alabama Gulf Seafood was created in March 2011 by Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley with the signing of Executive Order 09. Alabama Gulf Seafood was established to increase business for Alabama s seafood industry. Alabama seafood is defined as any seafood product sold by Alabama businesses and sourced from Gulf and local waters. Alabama Gulf Seafood is comprised of volunteer members appointed for a threeyear term by the Governor of Alabama that includes fishermen, processors, charter boat operators, retailers, restaurant owners and others directly and indirectly related to the Alabama seafood industry. Led by Chris Blankenship, director of the Alabama Marine Resource Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Commission helps to provide advice, oversight, management and encouragement to the marketing of Alabama seafood.

3 AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (ACS) The ACS is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., the ACS has 12 geographic divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide and a presence in more than 5,100 communities. BAY AREA FOOD BANK Since 1981, the Bay Area Food Bank has been providing nutritious food to people that have suffered from personal crisis or disaster. It is the goal of the staff to educate the community on the ongoing battle to combat hunger. Today, the Bay Area Food Bank supports more than 700 feeding programs at more than 550 agencies from their 39,000-square-foot facility in Theodore, Ala. THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF SOUTH ALABAMA It is the goal of the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama to provide constant structure and programs for children in the local community. Health, physical education and leadership skills are all points of focus for the organization. CAMP RAP-A-HOPE Camp Rap-A-Hope is an organization that provides a week-long summer camp at Camp Grace in Mobile, Ala. and is open to children between the ages of 7 and 17 who have or have ever had cancer. Fun for Kids with Cancer CAMP SMILE The mission of Camp SMILE is to empower children and adults with disabilities to live their life without limits by providing an inclusive summer camp experience where there is no limit to the adventure.

4 DAUPHIN ISLAND SEA LAB FOUNDATION (DISL) Founded in 2002, the DISL Foundation supports the Sea Lab in its mission to provide wise stewardship of the marine environment through education and research. GULF COAST EXPLOREUM SCIENCE CENTER The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the quality of life for the people of the Gulf Coast. The primary mission of the Exploreum is to promote science literacy among the people of South Alabama and throughout the Gulf Coast region. The Exploreum strives to make life better for future generations through four main areas of focus: science, math and technology education; quality family experiences; work-force development for hard-to-fill positions; and economic development for downtown Mobile. GULFQUEST NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM Projected to open in late 2013, GulfQuest will be the first museum dedicated to the Gulf Coast s rich maritime traditions and only the third interactive maritime museum in the world. Until now, no maritime museum has been established to celebrate the historical, economic and cultural significance of America s Sea and its coastal region. MOBILE BALLET For 25 years, the Mobile Ballet has provided superior dance education, presented quality performances and promoted the ballet to the Mobile metropolitan area as an expression of the human spirit. The company offers summer dance programs at two different locations to help the youth of the community have a chance to further their understanding of ballet.

5 MOBILE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Mobile Symphony was established in 1970 as Symphony Concerts of Mobile. Its mission was to present excellent touring orchestras for six evening concerts. In 1996, the board of Mobile Symphony decided that to truly serve the education, quality of life and economic development needs of the community, it must create a local Mobile Symphony Orchestra, with the goal of utilizing and developing local professional musicians. Thus, the planning and development of the local orchestra began. The official name was changed to Mobile Symphony, Inc. in ORGANIZED SEAFOOD ASSOCIATION OF ALABAMA Eat Alabama Wild Seafood is a collaborative effort between the people who catch, sell and cook Alabama s best seafood. From charter boat to raw bar, the association is committed to providing fresh seafood and maintaining time-honored traditions. Alabama Wild Seafood is healthier to eat and healthier for the economy. PENELOPE HOUSE Penelope House is a non-profit organization established in 1979 by the Daughters of Penelope to help victims of domestic violence regain social and economic independence. The Family Violence Center is the only shelter for battered women and children located in Mobile, Ala., although services currently span across Mobile and Washington Counties in Alabama hour crisis line (251) RANSOM CAFÉ Ransom Café is a ministry that operates like a restaurant. What makes Ransom Café different is that they don t have set menus or set prices; they operate strictly on donations. Currently, their team offers multiple locations throughout the Mobile area, where volunteers can donate their time or money to help those who are hungry. Not only helping with food, Ransom is involved in shoe distribution and Christmas outreach.

6 RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile provides a home away from home for families who travel to Mobile for their children to receive treatment for serious, often life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The house can accommodate up to 38 families a night. Families can sometimes utilize the facilities, located on the campus of USA Children s & Women s Hospital, while their children receive care. ST. MARY S CHILDREN S HOME St. Mary s Home was founded in 1838 as the first and oldest residential program for children in the state of Alabama. Today, St. Mary s is the only Catholic residential program in the state. Originally founded as an orphanage, the home has undergone many changes in its long history of service to children and families in need. WILMER HALL In 1864, Bishop Wilmer of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama saw the plight of the orphans from the Civil War and yellow fever epidemic. Because of this, he planned a children s home to be named Wilmer Hall Children s Home, which was first located in Tuscaloosa, Ala. After the war, in 1867, the home was moved to a location in downtown Mobile, and then to its current Mobile location in The mission of Wilmer Hall is to provide a safe environment for children in need. The mission is accomplished through application of Christian principles delivered in a home-like atmosphere that engenders spiritual, physical and educational health for both residents and staff. At Wilmer Hall, children are given an opportunity to lead normal, healthy lives. The programs offered are long-term residential and transitional living. WOUNDED WARRIOR FAMILY FOUNDATION (WWFF) The WWFF was founded in March 2010 in Alabama and has established ties at many military bases throughout Alabama and the nation. The Foundation has been successful with the emergency services divisions at major bases such as Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala.; Ft. Rucker in Dothan, Ala.; Ft. Benning, Ga.; Ft. Hood, Texas; Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala.; Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Ga.; and many more. The Foundation is fully capable of servicing the families of wounded military from all service branches throughout the nation and is accepting beneficiary families nationwide. The Foundation helps spouses and children of our fallen or seriously wounded military and civilian heroes.
