For Windows 8 Microsoft Training Offer
Microsoft Training Offer To support schools and educational organisations deploying Windows 8 Tablets Microsoft are providing a complimentary day of consultancy or training from the Tablet Academy free of charge with every 20 devices ordered, or 3 days for every 50 devices purchased. To ensure your staff are inspired and the deployment of devices in your organisation is a success the Tablet Academy have created 6 programmes your school can select from. Each option focuses on teaching and learning and using tablets to enhance the learning environment. Strategic Vision & Planning for School Leadership (Consultancy) Introduction to using Windows 8 Tablets in the Classroom (Teacher Training) Tools for teaching the Computing Curriculum on Windows 8 Tablets (Teacher Training) Cross Curricular Windows 8 Tablet Tools for Teaching (Teacher Training) How to Flip the Classroom with Windows 8 Tablets (Teacher Training) Creative Curriculum Workshops (Delivered with a teacher and students) Each course is delivered as a half day (up to 3 hours) or full day (up to 6 hours) at your location. Your school can book a full day or 2 half days free of charge with every 20 devices purchased. Maximum of one booking per school, ie: 1 or 3 days, depending on how many tablets purchased. Further details for each course are outlined on the following pages. How to Book 1. Inform the company you are purchasing your Windows 8 Tablets from as to which programmes you would like to book and whether you would prefer half days or full days. 2. The company will submit your request along with your details to the Tablet Academy. 3. The Tablet Academy will make contact with your school direct to discuss your request. At this stage we will book in dates to deliver your training, discuss any preparation required from the school and answer any questions you may have.
Audience: School Leadership Consultancy - Strategic Vision & Planning for School Leadership A day of consultancy for School Leadership to discuss the schools strategy around the deployment and use of tablets in teaching and learning. The day involves exploring how devices can help increase attainment, improve engagement and transform learning. Within the session you can expect to cover deployment, financing, managment, apps, community support, staff CPD and sustainable models. Consultancy Programme Hardware Deployment Financing Management Software Staff CPD Community Support Sustainable Models This option is suitable for school leadership only.
Audience: Cross Curricular Teaching Staff Introduction to using Windows 8 Tablets in the Classroom This course is ideal for strangers to Tablet Technology or Windows 8 users who have never used a Windows 8 Tablet in the classroom. Starting from the beginning participants learn the skills that allow them to manage their device through to how to deliver engaging lessons using their device. The aim of this course is to ensure the staff are confident to deliver lessons using a tablet. Depending on the capability of the group there will also be time to explore a range of educational Apps. Navigating Windows 8 on a tablet Built in functions - class use Understanding Apps Workflow - cloud storage Introduction to Office 365 Using QR Codes Educational Apps
Audience: Cross Curricular Teaching Staff Tools for teaching the Computing Curriculum on Windows 8 Tablets The Computing Curriculum is a developing field which many teachers feel nervous around. The idea of this course is to explain the Jargon used and show staff what tools are available on the Windows 8 Tablet to help them deliver the new curriculum. The course focuses on the use of Kodu which allows you to create 3D worlds then programme charcters and elements within your world to interact with your movements. Understanding the jargon Kodu - Creating Worlds - Programming - Existing Games Touch Develop Useful Resources
Audience: Cross Curricular Teaching Staff Cross Curricular Windows 8 Tablet Tools for Teaching Discover a range of Apps that help enhance lessons in all subjects with students of all ages. This course covers a range of Apps that can be applied in all subject areas to enhance engagement and improve attainment. Included within this are ebooks that allow students to create books with embeded video and audio recordings, lessons on creating videos on the tablet and interactive presentations using Nearpod. Prepare to be inspired. Video Production in lessons Creating ebooks Interactive Nearpod Presentations Flash Quiz Revision Digital Mindmapping Digital Note Taking (One Note) Bing Translator
Audience: Cross Curricular Teaching Staff How to Flip the Classroom with Windows 8 Tablets The flipped classroom model involves the use of technology and online media to improve the learning in your classroom. In short you spend more time interacting with students instead of presenting to them. The most common example of this is teachers create videos that students view outside of class time prior to the lesson. This means they are prepared to take part in learning activities during lesson time. This course introduces the concept before covering the tools and approaches needed to make the theory a reality for the participants. What is a Flipped Classroom How to increase student engagement and collaboration. Creating Flipped resources Delivering a Flipped Lesson Introduction to Mediacore
Audience: Students Creative Curriculum Workshops (Delivered with a teacher and students) This course involves a trainer working with a teacher and there class to co-deliver a creative workshop using the new Windows 8 Tablets. Many teachers prefer this approach to learning new technoilogies as they are involved in working with students on the devices and can observe how the trainer approaches different situations. Learning on the job! The content covered in the workshop is agreed in advance between the teacher and the trainer. The hope is the workshop can be an extension of the current curriculum subject being covered. Introduction to learning with tablets Researching on a tablet Digital mindmapping Collating information in a variety of formats Producing a digital product Peer Assessment
