Attended weekly didactics for in-depth training in trauma disorders including development, neurological effects of trauma, and issues related to therapy such as transference/countertransference and creating boundaries that facilitate growth and corrective emotional experiences. Graduate Research Assistant November 2010 May 2011 Advisor: Diana Formoso, Ph.D. Nova Southeastern University Connections: Families and Schools Supporting our Youth Center for Psychological Studies, Fort Lauderdale, FL Examined different stressors of home and school life in minority, low socioeconomic status families. The study s goal was to enhance the quality-of-life of low-income, ethnic minority children living in Broward County by developing and evaluating a pilot program to increase the family and school support available to them. Coded parents endorsements, questions, concerns, and objections to the intervention skills being taught through a qualitative coding scheme. Regularly attended weekly meetings for clinicians and researchers to discuss the study s development. Attended trainings that focused on: the importance of confidentiality, how to report child or elder abuse, as well as research protocols.
