7 7 The MBA with a difference Flexible, integrated, personalized, diversified The ESSEC MBA is an innovative program designed to bring students up to speed with the challenges of the ever-dynamic business world. We strongly believe that when equipped with the best tools, individuals will make the best choices for themselves. A flexible, customized curriculum lets MBA students combine work and study as they wish. To achieve a seamless integration between classroom and workplace, all students are required to have at least 18 months of validated professional experience by the time they graduate. Students choose from around 200 courses each year, and may specialize in a particular field or discipline of their choice. A personalized coaching system means that all students are guided from the beginning of the program until graduation. Skills are continuously assessed on an ongoing basis, with faculty, staff and alumni serving as coaches, and bringing with them a wide range of experience and expertise. The role of Chairs is to advance management science and practice in response to the latest challenges of an international scale. We created the Chair to answer the growing demand of companies looking for future employees capable of defending a sports marketing strategy in front of an executive committee. Our tremendous success encouraged us to continue and build relationships with a growing number of companies. Personally, I was looking for the development of precise skills and competencies. Collectively, my goal was to contribute to the performance of my company's consulting department. Stéphane ALLIO CEO of Havas Sports Italy After studying in Morocco, I was lucky enough to win a place at ESSEC MBA, the only management school which gave me the chance to develop my entrepreneurial aspirations. Every student chooses an advisor from the academic staff, a graduate of an ESSEC program, or a person with a teaching background. The alternating of academic study with practical experience within a company offers students a unique opportunity to apply their knowledge immediately within the field. The company plays a crucial role in the broadening of the student s practical knowledge, contributing specific assignments designed to develop certain skills. A corporate supervisor is on hand to monitor and then validate each student s progress. In addition, this option also represents an excellent means of financing studies: the company covers tuition fees and pays a salary for the entire duration of the placement. 16 Admissions Students are admitted to the ESSEC MBA through different admissions paths, depending on their prior qualifications: French MBA Admissions Students with a French degree apply through the French MBA admissions path. International MBA Admissions Students with a strong non-french Bachelor s or Master's degree are eligible to apply. Selection is based on motivation, academic record, approved management and language test scores, and an interview. One to two years of professional experience is highly recommended.
