He or she is responsible for keeping the project tasks on schedule, communicating with all stakeholders and managing resources the people, money, ols, and time needed achieve the goal. The project manager is the centre of the project and the driving force behind the team. The discipline of project management is extremely versatile and can be adapted any business or industry. Its strength is inherently predicated on focused teams of experts who can quickly adapt, organise and troubleshoot, meaning that most problems can be resolved in an efficient manner using the appropriate project management procedure. The human element is perhaps the single most important feature of project management. 3 5.0 Course Structure This course is designed be delivered as a hours contact module, and is fully aligned with the course content of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the global authority on Project Management. Qualified participants may earn Professional Development Units (PDUs), a prerequisite for PMI certification. The application of the basic Project Management Procedures covers the following pics: 1. Exam Preparation Guide 6.0 Course Material and Method of Delivery The course material are fundamentally based on a publication from the Project Management Institute, A Guide the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) - Fifth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2013 and industry experience. A face--face approach for course delivery is the preferred methodology. Individual and group assignments will be used for assessment purposes but practical exercises and multiple choice tests will also be used throughout the course. Microsoft project as a project management ol will be key feature of the course development. Practical scenarios will be used in the main for training and assessment purposes. 7.0 Evaluation & Certification Participants will be consistently evaluated. As project management is fundamentally about team work, course grades will be based on individual assessments, but in the main on group assignments, and a micro project simulation. 4 At the end of the course, participants will be awarded either a Certificate of Achievement or a Certificate of Participation. A reward for a Certificate of Achievement suggests that: A participant achieved a grade of 60 % or more on individual and group assignments. Participants must be present for at least 36 hours out of the tal contact hours. A reward for a Certificate of Participation suggests that: A participant achieve an overall grade of less than 60 % Participants must be present for at least 36 hours out of the tal contact hours. 8.0 Grading Policy Students will earn both a letter grade and a corresponding score based on the quality of work as presented for each assessment consistent with Table 1 below.
