8 GETTING STARTED The essay is the hardest part. Please get started right away. Please look at the topics the Common Application is using this year. It doesn t change much year to year. Juniors it s time to write a rough draft! Parents if students don t know what to write about in a class have them pick a college application topic and get started!
9 THE COMMON APPLICATION When given the choice to apply, make your application online. MSU, CMU, Western, Oakland, Wayne, Eastern, Northern, and Grand Valley are not part of the common application system. You have to do these application individually. Log on to their website and begin the process. Very similar to the common application process. All of these colleges reward early applications. Please set up an account with the CommonApp.org-Set. Today! Both Juniors and Seniors!
