1 Inspired by BILLY SURE and his wild and wacky inventions? Now you can host your very own Shark Tank -Style Event! With the materials included in this kit, your bookstore, classroom, or library can encourage kids to brainstorm ideas and present them in an exciting entrepreneurial way! Feel free to tailor this event to fit your group s needs, but here are some suggestions to help get you started! EVENT GUIDE: The HOST should be an adult moderating the event. The S are the kids coming up with ideas to pitch to the INVESTORS. The INVESTORS are the judges who get to score the S pitches and decide on the AWARDS given out at the end of the game. The rest of the event attendees or students will be the audience members who get to vote on the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at the end. INTRODUCING AND SETTING UP THE EVENT: The HOST should explain to the kids what the S and INVESTORS will do in the game. The HOST will ask for volunteers for each role. Select up to 5 S. Select up to 3 INVESTORS.
2 HOW TO RUN THE EVENT: The HOST introduces the game, explains the rules, selects S and INVESTORS. Allow the S ten minutes to fill out their pitch sheet explaining their idea. Allow each five minutes to pitch their idea to the INVESTORS. Allow the INVESTORS five minutes to fill out their scorecards. After all S have presented their ideas, allow the INVESTORS ten minutes to get together to: Tally up their scores for each. Vote on which will receive the MOST CREATIVE IDEA AWARD and the MOST PROFITABLE IDEA AWARD. The HOST will select and present the BEST PITCH PRESENTATION AWARD. The HOST will ask the audience to vote on the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD. Be sure to congratulate and thank all participants to encourage creativity and confidence! No bad ideas in brainstorming! And, of course, HAVE FUN!
