31 Opportunities Keep a list of all opportunities A big list of little ideas not a little list of big ideas. Now prioritise. What delivers the most money saving What delivers the most CO2 savings What delivers best value for money What is really practical to achieve Take into account the practicalities of your own time to do these.

32 Opportunities Turn it off Turn it down Consult with the users Consult with specifications is it meeting the efficiency specification that the manufacturer states it can meet. Control it better eg timers and less precise control optimise existing systems Then and ONLY then look at investment in new technology The LAST step is renewables.

33 Give yourself a target to work to No different than having a sales target for your business, a profit target for your business, a weight loss target for your diet etc. A target is something to work to Assists in driving success.

34 Look at the close analogy to the waste campaign. Reduce Reduce the demand for energy in the first instance Turn off equipment when not needed, adapt set points to what is really required, not what the machine can deliver, automate controls where required etc. Re-Use Don t waste energy Improve the efficiency of energy cycles, reuse waste energy (eg heat) at another useful part of the process. Recycle - Renewables Appropriate when the demand has been reduced to the real requirement in the first instance, part but not by any means all of the solution.
