3 Mission statement VITAL sets up a Europe-wide IMS based experimental network with the intention to Experiment on IMS services using SIP/IMS terminal types (mobile, wireless and fixed) Envisage mechanisms for End-to-End QoS reservation across heterogeneous platforms consisting of mobile, wireless and fixed access networks Experiment on FMC service continuity issues across federated networks, e.g., handover, roaming, services provisioning across foreign networks with flat charging Provide an open testbed for third party researchers and institutions to test their services on a real IMS network 5 Consortium partners KELETRON 6
