2 Introduction Congratulations to have acquired your PLS-40L scale. We are sure that it has made the best investment for your business. PLS-40L scale has been designed with highest technology remembering always the functionality and yields that your business requires. With the purpose of simplify the configuration and programming of your PLS-40L scale, the ScaleNet software has been developed, to install it just makes the following instructions. Congratulations! and Thanks for your preference! Installation of ScaleNet v1.0 (Windows 95, 98) Along with the user manual of your PLS-40L scale, you received a cd for your computer ScaleNet v1.0. Introduce the cd in the drive computer. Then, press the Start button in the Windows bar after that select the Execute option ; if you have Windows 3.11, in the File menu select the Execute option. Type D:\scalenet-98\setup.exe according to each case; press the Enter key. The following window will be opened. The system will ask for the directory where you wish to install ScaleNet software. Type the wished directory or leave C:\PLS-40L, after that press Continue button. 1

3 Setup will begin to copy all the necessary files for the ScaleNet execution. When finishing the ScaleNet installation, Setup will show the following message The system will create the following icon on the work desk. In order to enter to the system just make a double click with the left mouse button on the PLS- 40L icon. 2

4 Installation of ScaleNet v1.0 (Windows XP) Along with the user manual of your PLS-40L scale, you received a cd for your computer ScaleNet v1.0. Introduce the cd in the drive computer. Then, press the Start button in the Windows bar after that select the Execute option ; if you have Windows 3.11, in the File menu select the Execute option. Type D:\SCALENET-XP\SETUP.EXE according to each case; press the Enter key. The following window will be opened. The system will ask for the directory where you wish to install ScaleNet software. Type the wished directory or leave C:\PLS-40L, after that press Continue button. By default the software is installed in the directory C:\ARCHIVOS DE PROGRAMA\PLS40L. 3

5 The following window will be opened. Setup will begin to copy all the necessary files for the ScaleNet execution. 4

6 When finishing the ScaleNet installation, Setup will show the following message The system will create the following icon on the work desk. In order to enter to the system just make a double click with the left mouse button on the PLS- 40L icon. 5

7 ScaleNet v2.3.4 Configuration It will be left the PLS-40L icon on the Windows desk. Do a double click on it to enter the ScaleNet system. The following window of welcome will be opened. Press the Next button. Next will be the configuration window, type the name s company, type the address s company, select the serial port by which its computer will communicate with the scale(s), define the wished number of rows by page that it appear in the reports, If you want to work with the PLS-40L scale by a CAN RS232 Interface, marks the option Use CAN RS232 Interface. If you wish that the system reviews the status of the scale s network whenever you enter to the ScaleNet, select the option Looking for scales. Once you had finished ScaleNet Configuration, press Accept button, or if you wish to abort the installation, press Cancel button. 6

8 Initiating Session Whenever you enter the ScaleNet system, the system request the User s name and Password registers. The users by default are ADMIN and GUEST. These users do not have initial password, so just they need to press the Next button. Working with a single PLS-40L scale When entering ScaleNet, the system will show the following window. When you are working with a single scale you do not need to use a Interface CAN RS232, since the system assumes that the scale is that you desired to work is directly connected to the computer. Working with more than a PLS-40L scale If you will work with more than a PLS-40L scale, you need a CAN RS232 Interface, and select the Find scales to start ScaleNet option ; the system will search for new scales in the scales network. Remember it is necessary that first the CAN RS232 Interface is turn on and after that the PLS-40L scale. To finish the control of the scales network, the system will show the serial numbers of the scales that were recognized and will ask if you wish to install PLS-40L scale. Press Yes button to install the scales or No button to abort the action. 7

9 Depending of the amount of PLS-40L scales which your network has, it will appear a window similar to the following one. With the purpose of verifying the communication between the scale and the computer, do a click with the right mouse button on the scale s icon, it will be a window with the properties of the scale. Select the Watch scale option, it will be a window similar to the following one. Close this window pressing ESC key or doing click on the mark close window located in the right top corner of the window Watch scale. Make this test with all the scales that it has installed. If the system were an error in the communication it would show an error message. If this is the case review the connection of the scale(s). Creating a scale s group. With the purpose of doing a easier scale configuration, you can organize them in scale s group. In order to create a scale s group with the right mouse button do click on the white area of the Local Net window. It will be the following options. 8

10 Select New Group. Automatically the following group with the name Group # 50 will be created. In order to change the name of the group do a click on the name of group. Type the wished name and press Enter key when to finish, it will be the same with all the groups or scales. To include a scale in a group, using the mouse do a click with the left mouse button on the scale s icon that wish to move, and without loosen the mouse button, move the mouse until begin on the icon of the group in whom you wish to locate the scale. Release the mouse button; the system will ask if you are sure that you want to change the group of the scale, press Accept button to confirm or Cancel button to abort the operation. To see the scales that are in a same group, you need to double click with the left mouse button on the Group icon, it will be the organizational chart of the network. The scales that are within a same group will not have properties by itself but it will be subject to the properties of the group which it belongs. This means, you will share the same configuration, PLU s memories, agents, formats etc. Adding manually a new scale. If for some reason already it had configured a scale and you wish to include in the scales network. It will be necessary that you provide the serial number and the individual identifier of the scale. Review these parameters in the scale. In the computer, do click with the right mouse button on the white area of the Local Net window and select the New scale option, the system will request that you provides the serial number of the scale, type this number and press the Accept button, next the system will request that it types the individual identifier of the scale, type ID and press Accept button, in case that a scale with some of these duplicated values existed in the system, the system will send an error message. When the system does not accept the identifier number of the scale, you must try with another ID number. If this number does not agree with which it has programmed the scale, you will have to reprogram it in the scale manually (See programming manual of the scale). 9

11 General Configuration It does not matter that you are working with a single scale, or working with a several scales in a group or individual form, will be necessary that configures them. For this do a click with the right button on the icon of the scale or scale s group; and selects the Configuration option within the properties of the scale. General Parameters In the top of the configuration window will be shown the serial number of the scale and the date of last update configuration. In the Identifier section will be shown the scale ID, as well as, the description of the scale in the system. The identifiers of the scale can not be modified by the user these are assigned automatically by the system. Use the TAB key to move in every field or uses mouse. In the section of bar code, the value will be to specify the prefix value(1-99) and the department value(1-99) that will be used to print the bar code. The scale is able to print two types of bar codes such as EAN-13 or UPC-13. Also it is possible to customize the configuration of bar code; for weighed products and unweighed products. Both codes must have the same amounts of digits per prefix value and department value. The letters can not be interchanged. 12 Below the configuration of the bar code is located the scrolling message that is shown by the scale when it is waiting for a transaction. In this field you will be able to type the message that you wish. In the options section located to the right are the main operation scale options: a) To operate with agent, when you enable this option, the scale will not allow operation of sales without assign the agents number with you wish to work. b) To use several products, if you enable this option the scale will be able to carry out product transaction, that are not registered in the scale. c) Bar code, so that the bar code is including in tickets or labels, marks this option. d) To allow discounts, if you wish to allow discounts on the sales, enables this option. e) To ask for discounts password, obligate to all the discounts are authorized by the supervisor password. f) To allow returns, if you wish to allow returns on the products sales, able this option. g) To ask password on returns, obligate to all the returns are authorized by the supervisor password The configuration window has several screens. In order to change of screen, do a click on anyone of the options that are in the superior part of the configuration window. Headlines In this screen, you can customize the headers of the tickets or labels of sale. The ticket or label can have up to 10 lines of headers. The message of each line is independent of the other lines. Each line can have its own message, also its own location in the label(left, Center, Right) and its own letter size. In order to edit a header using the mouse, do a click with the left button on anyone of the lines that specify the contained of the headers. The system will position the present message in the edition field. Type the new message and press the ENTER key. The system will change to the field of letter size. Select the letter size that you prefer and press ENTER key again. The system will be located in the alignment field of the message, selects the alignment that you prefer and press ENTER key again. Once you had finished the header printed configuration, you can go into the screen Printed Format. 11

13 Printed Format. In these screens, you will be able to define the format type that you want to use to register the scale transactions. In the first section paper type is selected(paper, label with gap, label without gap, continuous label). Select the paper type that you wish to use in the scale or scale s group. Next you will be able to choose within the pre-established formats, whichever you want, depending on the paper type will be the formats that will be available. Independently of this, you always have a customized format to modify to your very particular necessities. If you choose to work with paper, the option of printed type will be able which can be printed per product, brief receipt and detailed receipt. If you chose to work with label, these options will not be available. In the section of dimensions, you will be able to determine again the measures of the label as long as you have selected the customized format. The paper length corresponds to the y axis on the label and this amount depends on lines that will be able to be included in the label. The wide paper corresponds to the x axis on the label and the amount of columns depends that could be printed in the label. The separation is the amount of gap that will have to be considered to advance until the following label. All the measures are in millimeters. In the Text section, you will be able to define the messages that you wish see in the tickets or labels. These texts are: Weight Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the weigh. Price Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the price. 12

14 Total Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the total price. Agent Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the agent. Date Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the packed date. Sell by Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the expiration date. Additional Text, is the ticket and/or label message that indicates which is the business publicity, You can modify these texts, but remember that it will not appear in the ticket or label unless that the format therefore indicates it. When finishing to modify these parameters, go into the next screen of customized format. Customized Format. This screen will show a previous printing that is configured, if you wish, you can add a field that is not configured at the moment. Use the mouse to take the field of the right list; do a click with the left mouse button on the selected field and without loosen the button drag it on the position that you wish in the previous screen. If you want to move of position a field that already is positioned on the screen of previous. Do a click with the left mouse button and without loosen the button, drag the field until its new position. Some headed field like code, product s name, publicity message and ingredients. It can not share the line in which it is located with other field. Reason why to the being relocated it replace the previous content of the line. 13

15 If you wish to change the letter field size, do a click with the right mouse button on the field that you want to modify it. A window similar to the following one will be opened: Select Properties to change the letter size (1-6). Select Eliminate to erase the field content. In the field of headlines you will be able to define the number of headlines that you wish to appear in ticket or labels. In the field of Ingredients lines you will be able to define the number of Ingredients lines that you wish to appear in ticket or labels. Passwords The last field corresponds to the passwords that it will be used by the scale. The Prog. Access will be used to enter the configuration from the scale. The Supervisor password will be used to authorize the discounts and/or returns. These passwords are the numerical type, reason why it does not accept letters in its composition. If you have changed of seeming and you wish to modify some of the parameters, this is the moment for doing it. Once you finished to configure the scale, press Accept button in the bottom of the Configuration window. The system will ask if you want to update the parameters in the scale or scale s group. Press Accept button if you want to confirm it or Cancel button if you want to abort the action. 14

16 Programming of TARE In order to access the tares of a scale, do a click with the right mouse button on the scale or group of scale icon. Select the Tares option, a window similar to the following one will be opened. Each scale or scale s group can have up to 20 programmed tares, which can be reference by anyone of PLUs that the scale has programmed. The programmed tares for a scale or scale s group, do not have to concede with tares of another group or scale. This means that a product can be loaded by the scale or group of scale doing reference to a tare in special, whereas the same product in other group or scale, will make reference to another different tare or will not be referenced to tare. In each field programs the tare that you wish to use. To finalize it, press the Save button to update the content of the tares in the system. To close this window, press Exit button, the system will ask, if you want to update the tares programmed in the scale or scale s group. Press Yes button to confirm it or No button to abort the action. If you wish to clean all the field of programmed tares, press the Erase button. If you already had programmed the tares in some previous occasion, and finish carrying out a modification in anyone of it, press Save button to update the changes in data base of the system. Master of Products At this moment, the scale have remained to work only with several products such as: weighed and non-weighed. In order to load up to thousand PLUs memories that can contain the scale; first, it will be necessary to register products of the system, consequently to load the PLUs memories of each scale or scale s group. Adding New Products In the main menu within Administration option select Master of Product option. The system will open a window similar to the following one. 15

17 In order to add a product in the Master of Products menu select New Product option. The product edition window will be opened. The first data to define of a product, is the code of the product. This code is the primary key to loading a product reason why is not allowed that different products have the same code, in case that by error, it was tried to enter a code that already was registered within the system, the system will generate an error by the duplication of codes. The description of the product can be up to 62 characters. The price can be of 5 digits and a decimal point up to The PLU number can be of 5 digits up to The percentage of tax can be of up to 99. The number of group can be of This number is used to obtain filtered reports by group in the scale or in the system. The number of department can be of This number is used to obtain filtered reports by department in the scale or in the system. 16

18 The expiration date can be up to 999 days. The PLU type can be: 1- Weighed lock 2- Weighed unlock 3- Unweighed lock 4- Unweighed unlock In the Content button, you will be able to enter the content of the ingredients. In this window type the content of the ingredients. It could be up to 247 characters. Press the Exit button to keep the changes in the description. In order to keep the changes that have carried out on any product, press the Save button. If you wish to cancel the procedure to add products, press the Cancel button. In order to add a new product without exit this window, press the New button. Searching for an existing product. In order to search a product that already had been created, press Search button. The following window will be opened. In order to search for a product, first select the search criterion which can be by code or description, type the key word or code and press the ENTER button. If there are an agreement with that search, it will show the registers that comes near to the criterion. In case of not being agreement the system will not show common registries. In case that the code or complete description does not load, just type the first characters and press the ENTER key and then you can localize all the registries that fulfill this criterion partially. 17

19 Once you have located the wanted register, press the Accept button. It will return to the previous screen. If you decide to abort the search, press the Cancel button. Modifying a Product. In order to modify a product that already had been created, press the Edit button or position the mouse pointer on the field that you wish to modify and do a click with the left mouse button. You will be able to modify any product parameters that existed previously with the exception of the product code. This because the code is the main key of which the product makes reference through the system. Make the modifications that you wish, change the field using the TAB key. When it has finalized to make all the modifications that needed, press Save button to keep the changes. If you do not wish to keep the modifications, press Cancel button. Eliminating a Product If you have decide to let use a product for some reason in individual, press Eliminate button. The system will request that you confirm the action. Press the Accept button to confirm or Cancel button to abort the action. You have to know that eliminate a product that has been assigned to some scales or scale s group, this product will not be updated the next time that updates the PLU memories. Similarly if you already had made a due balance including the code that you wish to eliminate, when this is eliminated, the reports that are generated will not be able to include the product description, so it will throw as a description No Available. In order to move between registries without having to leave this screen, use the arrows UP and DOWN arrows. When no longer you wish to carry out no change and it wants to return to the previous screen, press Exit button. Updating prices. If you already have your data base created with all the products that your business and you are seen in the necessity to update the price of certain product, you will be able to directly do it in the Master of Product window. First, use the displacement bar in the right side to locate the product that you wish to modify. Once it already has located the product selects do a click. In the Product menu selects the Edit price option or press the F2 function key, if you want do a click directly on the price that you want to modify it. Type the new price and press the ENTER key in the end so the new price is kept in the data base. The system will descend a register whenever is possible, to continue modifying the prices of the products that are together. If you do not wish to update the price of the product, press the ENTER key to jump to the following register or press the ESC key to finish modifying the prices. 18

20 Updating Prices by Product Rank. If you wish to update the prices of a rank of codes, in the Product menu select the Edit Price by Rank option. The following window will be opened. The user will have to define if the changes will filter by code or products that were selected. If you choose to modify prices by rank, the system will request that provides the initial code and final code to make the update. Next, indicate the percentage of increase in the price. In order to carry out the changes, press Apply button, the system will request to confirm the action. Press Accept button to confirm the action or Cancel button to abort the action. If you wish to carry out the update of prices by means of the product selection, or the master of product list, press the CONTROL or SHIFT key and not release it, with the left mouse button, do a click on all those products that you want it, when select the last product lose the CONTROL or SHIFT key. In the Product menu select Edit Price by Rank or do a click with the right mouse button. The update by selected codes will be opened to the update of prices by rank window, putting by default. Type the percentage of increase of price for these codes and press the Apply button. The system will request to confirm the action so press the Accept button to confirm or press Cancel button to abort the action. Updating Prices in the Scales. The price updating normally will be the more used function within the system; it is even if you do the due balance in the scale or in the computer, is for sure that you always will wish to have updated the prices of your products. If you have more than a scale, the updating will saved your time, since this will automatically take place in all the scales or scale s group that contain the product which have the modified price. In order to accede to this option in the Products menu select Update only price. The system will request that you confirm the update of price in the scale, press Accept button to confirm or press the Cancel button to abort the action. 19

21 A window with a bar status is shown indicating the progress of the update of prices. When finishing the system will show a message indicating that the process was finished successfully, press the Accept button. This option will only affect those scales that contain the products that were modified and it still have not been updated. If no product suffer some modification, the system will not update any product. Updating Memories in the Scales. The update of memories works similar to the update of prices just that is updates all the product memory in the scale. If you have the programmed price in a scale or several scales and it has modified some parameter of the product different from the price such as description, group number, department number, percentage of tax, expiration date, etc; use this option to update some of the parameters of the product in the scale that is programmed. In order to accede to this option in the Products menu select Update PLUs. The system will request to confirm the update PLUs in the scale, press Accept button to confirm or press Cancel button to abort the action. A window with a bar status is shown indicating the progress of the update of prices. When finishing the system will show a message indicating that the process was finished successfully, press the Accept button. In the same way that the previous option will only affect those scales that contain the products that were modified and it still have not been updated. If no product suffer some modification, the system will not update any product. In order to return to the main menu select in the Products menu the option Return. PLUs Memories. Once you loaded all the products with you wish to work, it will be necessary that you assign to the scales or scale s group. Each scale or group or scale s group can have up to thousand different PLUs memories. The PLUs of scale or scale s group does not have to be necessary equal to the another scale or scale s group. In the Master of Products list, it can contain up to ten thousand products and each one of them can be assigned more than a scale or scale s group. 20

22 Assigning Products to the Scale. In order to see the PLUs memories that a scale or scale s group has assigned or to assign new products; with the right mouse button do a click on the icon of the scale or scale s group. A list with different option will be shown. Select the PLUs Memories option. the following window will be opened. When the group or scale is new, it will not have assigned product. To add a new product, in the Memories menu select the option Master of Products, or press the INSERT button. The Master of Products will open to the right of the PLUs memories window, using the mouse select each product of the master list doing click with the left mouse button on the selected products and loosen it, the mouse pointer will take the data form from files pages, do a click on the PLUs memories window. The system will request if you wish to add a product, press Accept button to confirm or press Cancel button to abort the action. 21

23 In the PLUs memories, it will appear the assigned product, in this way you can add all the product that you wish to work in the scale or scale s group. If the code that wish to add already was programmed, the system will show a message of duplicated code. If you wish to move more than a product simultaneously, do a click with the left mouse button on the first code of the master of product list; without loosen the mouse button selects all the codes that wish to copy to the scale and when it finishes selecting the codes loosen the mouse button. Now do a click on the PLUs memories window, the system will ask if you wish to add products, press the Accept button to confirm or press the Cancel button to abort the action. After that, all these products that you wanted to program in the scale or scale s group will appear in the PLUs memories window. Eliminating Products in the Scale. If you want to eliminate a assigned product to a scale or scale s group. Select with the left mouse button the product that you with to eliminate, in the Memories menu select the Eliminate memories option. 22

24 The system will request if you wish to eliminate a register, press Accept button to confirm or press Cancel button to abort the action. Modifying a Product in the Scale. Each product has several parameters that can be customized for each scale or scale s group. To modify these parameters, selects the product of the memory list, using the mouse do a click on it. In the Memories menu select the Edit memories option and the following window will be opened. The PLU number is the number with which the product will be loaded in the scale, if the master of product has defined a value, this code will be copied for all the scales or scale s group. Nevertheless this value can be changed within memories of a scale or scale s group, the value of PLU number can not be duplicated within a same scale. Tare reference is the relation between the product and the programmed tares of a scale (1-20). Remember that each scale or scale s group can have up to twenty tares different from those scale or scale s group. If you do not remember the tare that needs to relate to this product, press the Search button, the tare window will be opened. Select the tare that you wish to relate with the product, do a click with the left mouse button on the tare number. The field of the selected tare will change of color, to loose a tare, do a click with the left mouse button on the number of tare. Once it has selected the tare, press Exit button to return to the previous window. 23

25 When is a unweighed article, instead of the tare reference, the number of pieces will be put by which it is desired to do the sale (1-99). Direct Access, is the key with which the PLU by means of the keyboard of the scale will load. Remember that each scale can have up to ninety-six keys of direct access, to load products and/or agents. The coordinates are given in the axis y (above to below) and then axis x (left to right). If you wish to assign the key of direct access graphically, press Assign button and the following window will be opened. If this product already had an assigned key of direct access, this will appear indicated with the symbol. The keys that are occupied by a product or agent, this will appear indicated by the symbol. When you want to assign a key of access to the product; only do a click with the left mouse button on the key that you want to assign to the product. If you wish to replace a key that or had been assigned to a product or agent, do a click with the left mouse button on that key, the system will ask if you wish to make the change, press Accept button to confirm or the Cancel button to abort the action. In order to return to the previous screen, press Accept button to save the changes or Cancel button to abort the action. Each scale or scale s group can contain up to thousand PLUs memories, from which five hundred can have description of ingredients, by default the first five hundred products that have ingredients description will able the field Include ingredients, if you do not want that a scale or scale s group in individual includes the ingredients in its description for some reason, disable this option. In order to keep the changes, press the Save button, in case that you does not keep the changes, press Cancel button. If you wish to eliminate a register, press Eliminate button. 24

26 The system will request that confirm the action, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort the action. In case that you need to look for a PLU, press the Search button, a window similar to the following one will be opened. Localize the wanted PLU or looking for it by code or description of the product. Once located the product, press Accept button, if you decide not search the product press Cancel button. In order to move between registries, use the arrows UP and DOWN. To return to the memories list, press the Exit button. When finishing to modify products in the memories list of the scale, it will be necessary that it updates them in the scale, so they can be used. On the Memories menu select Update all Memories option. The system will request to confirm this action, press Accept button to confirm or Cancel to abort the action. When finishing to update the memories in the scale, the system will show the following message: Successful Operation. The Update all Memories option, update all the designated products to work in the scale. If you want to update, just the products that had suffered changes in anyone of their attributes, select the Update only changes option in Memories menu. 25

27 In this way, just you can update the PLUs that had been suffered some changes. The system will request to confirm this action, press the Accept button to confirm or the Cancel button to abort the action. When finishing to update the memories in the scale, the system will show the following message: Successful Operation. Direct Access. Each scale or scale s group can contain up to 90 keys of direct access, to load a PLU memory. By default the keys are assigned in the order that copies the products within the scale memories; in this way the first 90 products are assigned by direct access. If you want to assign the direct access keys again, in Memories menu select the Direct Access option and the following window will be opened. Do a click with the left mouse button select the memories list of PLU until the mouse pointer returns to take data form from pages, then moves the mouse and loose it on the button that you wish to assign to this product, in this way, you will be able to configure your direct access easily. The direct access are updated in the scale when the PLUs information is updated. To return to the main menu select the Return option in the Memories menu. 26

28 Agents Master. At this moment, you can do your operations of sale in your scale. Nevertheless if you wish to work with different agents, thus to be able to take care of several customers in the same scale simultaneously. Select the Agents Master option in the Administration menu. A window similar to the following one will be opened showing the list of agents. Adding a New Agent. In order to include a new agent in the Agents menu select the New Agent or press the INSERT key. The following edition window of agents will be opened. The agent number will be assigned by default, you must type just the agent name. To finish press Save button to update the changes, or Cancel button not to keep it. 27

29 Eliminating an agent. If you wish to eliminate an agent, press the Eliminate button. The system will request to confirm the action. Press the Accept button to confirm or Cancel to abort the action. Searching and modifying an Agent. If you wish to search other agent, press Search button. With this you open the search window. Locate the agent who need trying in the first letters of name and press Enter key. Once is finish updating the agent, press Accept button to go to the previous screen or Cancel button to interrupt the search. In order to move between agents use the arrows UP and DOWN.. If you wish to modify an agent that is within the agent list. Select the agent, do a click with the left mouse button on the agent who that you wish to modify, select Edit Agent in the Agents menu, the following edition window of agents will be opened with the agent who that you wish to modify. To return to the main menu select at Memories menu the Back option. 28

30 Assigning Agents to the Scale After you have all yours agents registered into the system, you can assign each agent to the scale that you will use. First at Local Net windows do a click with the right mouse button over the icon of the scale group that you want to assign the agents. The window properties will be opened. Select with a click of the left mouse button, the Agents option. A list with the currently programmed agents at the scale will be opened. At the main menu select Agents Master option or if you prefer press the INSERT key. The Agents Master window will be opened with all the agents registered in the system. Move this window to it will be located beside the Local Net window, that it has the list where are showing the assigned agents. Use the mouse to assign the agents. Over the Agent Master list do a click with the left mouse button over anyone agent, while you have pressed the button select all the agents that you want to updated in this scale or scale s group. When you release the left mouse button, the mouse pointer changes its form it seems some pages of archive. That is for indicates us that is possible assign the agents to a scale or scale s group. Do a click with the left mouse button into the Agents list of the scale or scale s group. The system asks for the confirmation of this action, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort this action. 29

31 The system shows all the agents added to scale or scale s group at Agents list. Eliminating an Agent If you want to eliminate an agent currently programmed into the scale or scale s group, just need select it at the Agents list with a click of the left mouse button over this agent. Now press the DEL key. The system asks for the confirmation of this action, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort this action. Assigning a Direct Access to an Agent Remember the PLS-40L scale can has until 90 direct access keys to recall products or agents. In order to recall an agent using a direct access key, it is necessary assign that key to the agent. Do a double-click with left mouse button over any agent into the Agents List; the next window will be opened. If any agent had assigned a direct access key, it will be show in that key. Also, any key assigned to a product or agent will be show in that key. To assign a direct key to any agent, just do a click with left mouse button over the whishes agent; while you have pressed the button move the pointer mouse to the direct access key that you want to use to recall this agent. If you want to replace a direct access key previously assigned to any product or any agent; the system asks for the confirmation of this action, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort this action. When you close the Agents List window, the system asks for your confirmation to update the agents into the scale, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort this action. 30

32 Due Balance In this moment you can start to work with your PLS-40L scale, remember the scale works according to the parameters that you configured. Make all the operations of sales, discounts, returns with one or several agents, using anyone of the format for paper or label. The scales can work individually or be a member of a group. Remember, an advantage of works into a scale s group, it is the float agent. The PLS-40L scale can give us sales reports by product, agent, group, department or a total report. By that way if you want to combine the sales report of several scale to obtain more detail information of each product, or you want to stored the information, of each due balance to obtain the sales report of specific period. You need to do a due balance from the computer. Do a click with the right mouse button over the scale or scale s group that you want to do the due balance. The window properties will be opened. Select with a click of the left mouse button, the Due Balance option. The system asks for the confirmation of this action, press Accept to confirm or Cancel to abort this action. In the case of a scale s group the system will be show the next window. If you want to exclude a scale of the due balance, do a click with left mouse button over the scale, the asterisk showed beside the scale will disappear. If you want to include the scale in the due balance again do a click with left mouse button over the same scale. Press the Next button to start with the process. The next window will be opened show us the status of the process. 31

33 At the end the system show the following message. If you want to do the due balance for all the scale in the system, do a click with the right mouse button over computer icon at the Local Net window. The window properties will be opened, select the Due Balance option click with the left mouse button. That way the due balance applies to all the scales in the system. NOTE: It is important keep in mind that when you has started a due balance, the scales could not working, it is recommended to do the due balance at a horary when you are not waiting for clients. The due balance will be made for each selected scale, the process time depend on the quantity of PLUs in each scale, the quantity of agents and quantity of operations for sales. The scales must stand on until the due balance finish. Statistics The statistics allow us to have a better detail of the sales realized for the scales of our business; they give us the possibility to obtain combine reports of scales and agents. You can do the due balance every day or every week and end of the month to obtain the total sum of Sales per each scale or several scales. Sales per Date To generate this report at the Statistics menu select Sales per Date option. The next filter window will be opened. 32
