When Bad Things Happen To Good Schools
Famous Quote If you re in this business long enough, something bad is going to happen. Jerry Partlow
Some bad things... During a severe snow and ice storm, there is a power outage lasting several days. A residential school is faced with the possibility of having to evacuate its campus and seek alternative shelter.
Some bad things... A beloved staff member, driving home from school, is involved in a traffic accident and killed.
Some bad things... Two students leave campus, steal a vehicle from a neighbor of the school, and cause extensive property damage.
Some bad things... Following termination for inadequate performance, a staff member makes public allegations of sexual harassment regarding the director of the school.
Some bad things... A student, absent without leave, is fatally injured trying to jump on a moving freight train.
Some bad things... During a snowstorm over the Christmas holidays, there is a power outage which causes pipes to freeze, burst, and then flood the school, postponing the re-opening of school due to extensive water damage of building and destruction of teaching materials.
