1 Activating Mobile Web Banking Configuration and Use Agreement INTRODUCTION This booklet covers the configuration changes needed when activating mobile web banking and discusses mobile banking themed pages. It also covers the changes to the Online Banking Use agreement and how this will affect your members. 2 WHAT IS MOBILE WEB BANKING? Mobile Web Banking is the first phase of the introduction of CU*Answers mobile offerings. This section will cover the difference of the three mobile offerings. MOBILE WEB BANKING Mobile Web Banking is an automatic redirect from the standard It's Me 247 website if a member is using a mobile device. Mobile Web Banking has a similar feature set as It's Me 247, but with views optimized for web browsers on mobile devices, and slightly more advanced styling for the iphone and Android based devices. MOBILE APP BANKING Down the road, in partnership with Firethorn, we're launching It's Me 247 mobile banking via a downloadable application you install on your phone. Firethorn has developed the front-end application to work on many different devices, and it comes pre-installed on many AT&T phones. MOBILE TEXT BANKING On the heels of our mobile banking rollout, our teams will be moving quickly into mobile banking via text messaging, specifically: One-way text for e-alerts (including real-time alerts about balances, instead of the current once-a-day updates) Two-way text for interactive banking via SMS text messaging 2 Activating Mobile Banking

3 CONFIGURATION CHANGES BY THE CLIENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT A Client Service Representative will need to assist you with two changes on the OPER menu to configure your credit union so that you can offer Mobile Web Banking to your members. First the CSR will need to activate your credit union for Mobile Web Banking by checking the mobile banking box on the first screen of the Credit Union Master Profile. Once this box is checked, members will be able to use Mobile Web Banking on their phone when they click on the It s Me 247 logo on the credit union s website. It is recommended that your credit union have a website designed for a phone browser, so that accessing this logo is easy for the member. OPER #10 #3 CU Master Profile (CUMSTRPF) The CSR will check this box to activate Mobile Web Banking for credit union. Additionally, the CSR will reset your credit union indemnification agreement date to January 27, 2010 so that a new Online Banking Use Agreement is presented to each member when they log on to Online Banking. The new agreement contains new wording about mobile banking and by accepting this new agreement, the member also indemnifies the use of Mobile Web Banking with their online account. This updated agreement can be viewed of page 7. CU*BASE reviews the date the member accepted the agreement and presents the new agreement if the member s date is earlier than the credit union date in OPER. Activating Mobile Banking 3

4 OPER #10 #8 ARU/Online Banking Configuration This date will be reset to the current date so that the Online Use Agreement with the new mobile banking text is presented to the member. BY THE CREDIT UNION Once the Client Services Representative has activated Mobile Web Banking, the credit union has the option of allowing members to access It s Me 247 while on their phone or device via the web address, m.itsme247.com. Or the credit union can simply select to force the member to come to the credit union website and click on the It s Me 247 logo to access Mobile Web Banking. Regardless of which option a credit union selects, once Mobile Web Banking is activated, when members click on the It s Me 247 logo on the credit union web page, they will always be directed to Mobile Web Banking. If the credit union allows access through m.itsme247.com, when the member types this URL in his or her smart phone or similar device, the member will first be presented with a drop-down listing credit unions that have activated Mobile Web Banking. The initial drop-down is shown on the following page. Once the member selects your credit union, he or she will see the login screen for Mobile Web Banking (where the username and password are entered). 4 Activating Mobile Banking

5 To allow access through the URL m.itsme247.com, the credit union will need to make one change to the Online Banking VMS configuration. MNCNFE #1 Online Banking VMS Configuration (Screen 2) The credit union will need to check this box to allow their members to access Mobile Web Banking via and to see their credit union in the drop-down menu. If the credit union does not activate this setting, members will still be able to access It s Me 247 while on their phone by clicking on the It s Me 247 logo on the credit union website. This allows the credit union to force the member to go to its website in order to access Mobile Web Banking. Activating Mobile Banking 5

6 MOBILE FRIENDLY CREDIT UNION WEBPAGE Regardless of whether the credit union selects to allow access through m.itsme247.com or forces the member to come to its website to access Mobile Web Banking, one thing a credit union should consider, especially when offering Mobile Web Banking, is to create a credit union web page designed for use with a smart phone or similar device. There are two options when creating a credit union mobile web page. One is to leave your website as is for mobile users. The second is to design a mobile version of your site that these devices will be redirected to. Credit unions with SiteControl/WordPress websites already are enabled with a page with a mobile theme as part of their package. 7 AN UPDATE TO THE ONLINE BANKING USE AGREEMENT New language has been included in the Use Agreement to cover regulatory requirements stating that the member has accepted mobile banking access to their account. Once the credit union indemnification date in OPER is updated, all members are required to reaccept the agreement. WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS CHANGE? Once the date is updated, all members will be required to review and accept the agreement the next time they log in to online banking, even if they already accepted the agreement in the past. A helpful Why am I seeing this page? link on the usage agreement page should aid members and reduce the number of calls to your credit union. SAMPLE ONLINE BANKING USE AGREEMENT Following is the text of the Online Banking Use Agreement. The revision date on this agreement is January 27, Changes have been made to the first paragraph. Online Banking Use Agreement and Authorization to Receive Electronic Statements and Other Disclosures 1. The It's Me 247 online banking system (hereinafter called the SYSTEM), is provided as a service of the ABC Credit Union (the CREDIT UNION ) and permits access to your account information and, upon request, allows account transactions to be conducted. By accessing the SYSTEM, you are verifying that you are the account holder or you have full legal authority granted by the account holder to obtain information and conduct transactions. Reference to computer in this Agreement shall mean any electronic and/or digital device that provides web browser capabilities, including personal computer, laptop, personal digital assistant, and mobile and/or smartphone compatible with the SYSTEM. 2. The CREDIT UNION has provided an Account Number and initial password which are required in order to permit access through the SYSTEM. The first time you login to Online Banking, you will be required to change this initial password. You authorize the CREDIT UNION to follow any instructions entered through the online banking SYSTEM using your password. You agree that you are responsible to make sure that the Account Number and password are maintained in a secure manner and not disclosed to any person who is not authorized to obtain account information or conduct transactions on your account. 3. If you use any method of storing the Account Number and password on your computer, you agree that you are solely responsible for any access obtained to account information or any transactions conducted on any account. If you have reason to believe that the Account Number or password have been disclosed to or obtained by any unauthorized person, you agree to immediately notify the CREDIT UNION. 4. When connected to or using the SYSTEM, you agree to ensure that no unauthorized persons have access to your computer. If you fail to maintain direct control and supervision over your computer or otherwise fail to ensure that no unauthorized persons have access to your computer when connected to or using the SYSTEM, you agree that any use of the SYSTEM utilizing your password is not unauthorized use, and the CREDIT UNION and any other companies or entities involved in the design, development or operation of the SYSTEM are not responsible for any loss, expense, injury, cost or damage resulting from any access Activating Mobile Banking 7

8 obtained to account information or any transactions conducted on any account, to the extent permitted by law. 5. The CREDIT UNION may provide documents which are delivered to you electronically. These electronic documents are accessible when you login to the online banking SYSTEM. You agree to receive these documents, and any disclosures to which you are entitled under Federal Reserve Board Regulations B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), E (Electronic Fund Transfers Act), M (Consumer Leasing Act), Z (Truth in Lending Act), and CC (Expedited Funds Availability Act); the National Credit Union Administration Truth in Savings Regulation, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and any other applicable state or federal regulation or statute, including but not necessarily limited to your monthly credit union account statement, electronically, through your access to this system. 6. You understand and acknowledge that you presently have the right to receive such disclosures in paper form, and that you may revoke the authorization given in Section 5 at any time by providing the Credit Union with written notice of such revocation, at which time you will again be entitled to receive such disclosures in paper form. Whether you send such notice of revocation by paper or electronic means, the effective date of your revocation will be no more than 30 days from the day such notice is acknowledged as received by the credit union. 7. The technical requirements to assure that you have the ability to access and retain your E- Statements and other electronic disclosures are described in this section. You must have Internet access and a valid account and address. You must request access to the online banking SYSTEM through the CREDIT UNION. Your computer must have installed browser software which utilizes appropriate security protections. If you fail to use current, supported browser software, the CREDIT UNION and any other entities involved in the design, development or operation of the SYSTEM are not responsible for any loss, expense, injury, cost or damage resulting from any access obtained to account information or any transaction conducted on any account. For E-Statements and other electronic documents, you must have access to a printer or the ability to download information in order to keep copies of electronic documents for your records. 8. You understand and agree that you must notify the credit union if your address changes by providing the CREDIT UNION with written or electronic notice of any such change in address, and that the effective date of this new address will be no more than 30 days from the day such notice is acknowledged as received by the credit union. You hereby hold the CREDIT UNION harmless in the event that you have not received any required statement or other notice as a result of your failure to notify the credit union of a change in your address. 9. You understand and agree that even though you have agreed to receive disclosures electronically, you may contact the CREDIT UNION by or telephone to request that the CREDIT UNION send a paper copy of a disclosure that has already been sent electronically, and that the CREDIT UNION may charge a fee for that service, which fee will be separately disclosed. You agree that such fee can be deducted by the CREDIT UNION from any account you own at the CREDIT UNION. 10. By accepting this Agreement, you acknowledge that you have read the terms of this Agreement and that you agree to be bound by these terms. When you enroll in the E- Statement service, you consent to receive your periodic account statements and other disclosures electronically. If your CREDIT UNION account is owned jointly with another person(s), any one of you may consent to receive E-Statements and electronic disclosures, including enotices. Further, you understand that by accepting this Agreement, the current date will be logged as part of your account records and the SYSTEM services will be activated for your account.
