2 The Law of Attraction s Dark Side What wonderful videos they are; The Law of Attraction, The Secret, The Moses Code, Spirit Space and others. They are timely and created to empower, motivate, and inspire us; but did they; or did they leave us disillusioned, frustrated, and angry? Why are some people so turned off by the videos? For the record I know that The Law of Attraction works and I have demonstrated it in my life many, many times; but even I was let down by the movies. The movies built us up and took us to a higher place without any support and we crashed and burned sometime later when our efforts to make it work have failed. During their presentations they sold us on the law and led us to believe that we could do anything, or have anything without regard for the fact that most of us would not be able to do consciously what they presented as simplicity and as easy as breathing. Although it really does work that way; there is the human condition that was not addressed. For those who don t have a clue as to what I am talking about; let me elaborate. 3 think about, we will create and experience. So theoretically, you can think of having $31,000,000 in your bank account, the perfect job or relationship, and in a very short time it will manifest in your experience. You will experience having these things because it is an incontrovertible law without emotion or choice, and it must obey your command. What you think about must be manifested at some level of your experience it s the law! It s the Genie in the bottle and your wish is its command. The simplicity of the law is so very obvious that people want to change or add to it. By making it more complicated, one can then reason it, and not have to accept it carte blanche. Creation is a three step process; thought, word, and deed. Many people believe that it sounds too good to be true and it can t work, but it is that thought that is manifested first, and you are dead in the water before the process has a chance to complete. Without the basic knowledge of what we are as a being; the process will not work for us on a conscious level. It will always seem preposterous and out of reach. It would be very much like someone giving you a brand new 747 airliner, and telling you to fly it. Without the basic knowledge of flight or the mechanics of the airplane you will not be successful. Although getting off the ground is not that difficult as the planes are by design built to take off, more than likely you will not be able to keep it in the air or land it. The plane represents an abundance of power that is far beyond your ability to handle safely. There is another unwritten law or safety protocol that protects humanity. Unlimited power is available to anyone within their ability to use it, within this law, all of humanity is omnipotent. Power is Copyright 2008 by Roy E. Klienwachter All rights reserved 3

4 measured by the maturity and enlightenment of the individual. History has demonstrated to us that those who have sudden power or more than they can mentally handle; quickly destroy themselves. There are few who have had unlimited power that die of old age. They die from the circumstances which they create; the Law of Cause and Effect or Karma always follows the Law of Attraction. One of the attributes of human consciousness is his propensity to make things more difficult than they are, and he takes himself much too seriously. It s not enough to know that the he can create what he wants; he also wants to know how it works so that he has power over it and can make it work at his whim. So in one hand he is afraid of power, and in the other he keeps trying to acquire and control more of it. He intuitively knows that he is the power, but he disempowers himself so that he does not have to take any responsibility for it. That is why he invented gods; to give them the power and responsibility for his mistakes; he then spends his time trying to win favour with the gods. When humanity is presented with someone that has the power and the secret to share it; he will immortalize him and seek to use his power to create what he wants. A very good example of that is what the Christians did with Jesus. Jesus demonstrated his power to the people and said that they could do these things and more. But instead of making his truth their own, they chose to create an icon and disempower themselves. To this day they still pray to have him do their bidding. 5 The Law of Attraction is not a thing or person. It is not something you can buy or sell. Nor can you receive it from any god or guru. The law is a statement of absolute power. If you look for the Law of Attraction, you will not find it. If you try to use the law, you will find the disappointment you are looking for. If you try to figure out how it works; you will fail. You cannot hold up the law for all to see and expect that you can demonstrate that it works it will not. It will not because your basic truth is flawed; you have separated yourself from the power that makes it work you are the law; the law is a statement of your power to create what you imagine. You are not separate from it and you do not have to call upon it or any god to make your creations. You do not have to be qualified to use it, nor do you have to be one of a chosen few. The Law of Attraction is a manifested physical thought created in the minds of man. It is a state of being that exists in the higher conscious level of man s awareness. The law is part of a believe system man has established as that which is spiritual. Spirituality is a lifestyle, a physical way of life. What man often forgets is that the ego works on more than one level of consciousness. The major reason for humanities failure to use the law effectively on demand is because he focuses on the conscious level and he has forgotten his power to connect to it on a subconscious level. In my book Your Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle, I went into detail about people who have been in my life who can use it very effectively on a conscious level. 6 and in a very short time they are experiencing it. The most outstanding aspect of how they do it is that they don t try. They don t use the law of attraction or anything else. They simply know that they want something and it happens. In fact my friend Harvey from the book emphatically denies the whole idea of the law. He thinks it is just good luck. He does however believe in Karma. For you who are aware of the Law of Attraction, you must assume three things on a conscious level and then forget about them. 1. You must assume that the process exists. 2. You must assume that it works. 3. You must expect the results you want. The reason you must forget about the law is that if you are trying to use it consciously, then your experience will be trying to us it. If you give it no thought, then you are not wasting your time trying to create something that already exists and you energy can go to creating what it is you truly desire. On a conscious level you must always know that you will get what you really want and expect it. Gratitude is awareness that you already have or are experiencing something that you desire. Why would you be grateful for something that you do not have? It is a feeling, a recognition that you got what you want. Many people make the mistake of using gratitude to preclude getting what they want. They may thank God, the universe or someone for something they believe they will experience or have. When you have done that you have effectively disempowered yourself to create it. 7 others, you may not get what you want. When you empower another, you disempower you; you are working on their time and their whim. On a strictly physical experience, gratitude would partner with how the law works. If you take ownership for your creations and the responsibility that goes along with it, there would never be any reason to be grateful. It is a human convention for human experience. When you make a sandwich for yourself, are you grateful for someone making a sandwich for you, and do you thank someone for making it no? You simply accept the fact that it was your creation and you got what you wanted. Gratitude is a recognition that your experience comes from outside yourself and is akin to the Law of Attraction. Gratitude is a good thing to express when you have created an opportunity for someone else to make one for you. But in true spiritual form it would be the other who thanks you for that opportunity. Humanity was given absolute dominion over his environment; freedom to choose and create what he desires. Having absolute power would preclude any submission to the Law of Attraction as created by the physical experience. Man-as-God (the living god) experiencing physical life; is the Law of Attraction, and he would have no need for such a law. It is because humanity has forgotten who he is that he turns to the law to create what he wants. It is really the same thing, just a long way around with twists and turns that may get one lost on his/her way to fulfillment of his desires. 8 law works and accept it and you will experience anything that you may imagine. I suggest that unless you know who and what you really are, that it may not happen. And it is obvious from my experience and to those who may be reading this, that it doesn t seem to work for everyone. Without this knowledge of self you don t have the power or authority to use it effectively on demand. If you know yourself as the law, then creating what you want to experience is all you can do. The one most distracting thing that I have heard in religion is that I am not unworthy. How could anyone who is unworthy ever use the Law of Attraction, and as long as you are in this world; you can never be worthy. So the law of attraction which is a physical law created by man to use in this world can never be used by someone as unworthy as you. Religion has set you up so that you are constantly trying to become worthy and your time to use the law will only happen when you have passed on; when you don t need it. Religion is against the law of attraction because it doesn t work for it. It doesn t work for religion for you to know how to use it or to be autonomous. The Law of Attraction is part of the process or is the process of creation. The creator which is all-knowing, uses this law to experience itself in the physical world. Being all knowing is not being allexperiencing. You may imagine a thing, but at some time you will want to experience it. You may know what chocolate is, but you will not truly know it until you have experienced it. That is always the dilemma of a creator; he must experience what he knows. He does it through his physical aspects; in our case, the human experience. In the case of the Christian Jesus; Jesus knew who he was, and Copyright 2008 by Roy E. Klienwachter All rights reserved 8

9 knew of his inherent power to create on demand. In his own awareness he knew himself as one of you with no special powers; he also knew himself as the creator of all his miracles. He also shared this wisdom with all who would listen. In that respect he failed. He became the icon that is worshiped today. The Law of Attraction, The Secret, The Moses Code, and Spirit Space, as movies demonstrate purpose and opportunity. In my opinion they are mostly money makers for those who have created them. However, in the bigger picture; they are a good chance for you to move out of your box. In that respect they are successful; the ideas are as old as time itself, but they have been modernized and expressed as part of spirituality a way of physical life. Very much like what happened in the Jesus story, man has chosen to iconize The Law of Attraction and worship it as their new truth. It has created a new force to be understood and sold. Those who write books and make movies about the law will be amongst the few who will benefit from them directly. People will have missed the power contained in the awareness of the law because the real message is not present in the movies. So the harder they try to make the law work, the more they will fail. Once again I must reaffirm my support for the law; from my own personal experience and those of others, I know that it works. I am not writing this book to condemn it or turn you away from it. With a little enlightenment you will also be able to look back on your life and see that it has worked for you. 10 Another point that I would like to make is that the actors and speakers in the films are already successful people. Successful people have a different mind set that predisposes them to success. They think differently than the average person. In my own life I have struggled most of my life. I came from poverty and brought the influences with me all my life. Although I can t say that I have really suffered anywhere along the way; sixty years of harboring negative thoughts about success are being recreated in every day of my life. I have many successes to my credit, but I usually do something that sabotages what I have done. Mostly I do not feel comfortable with success and the power it represents. I have spent the last eight years learning how to accept my power and to take responsibility for it. I am becoming more powerful all the time. Almost nine years ago when I started writing about the Law of Manifesting (what we want to create); I had no idea what I was writing about. I felt far removed from spirituality and even farther away from religion which I totally rejected when I was younger. I made a commitment to sit down and start writing with no direction, but with a willingness to let what comes through my pen to flood the page in front of me. I also decided at that time that I would make it public even at the risk of being labeled. Maybe that works because I pay little attention to the opinions of others about me, and I have always been a little reclusive and immature anyways. I find those things to be an asset now in what I have been doing. My writing has been accepted all over the world and my demonstrates that Copyright 2008 by Roy E. 11 acceptance. The one thing which stood out for me in my early years of reading spiritual authors, was the concept of manifesting thoughts into physical reality. That is now the expertise of which I write. It also annoys me to no end that people give away their personal power all too easily to those who would exploit them. I have also come to terms with that. I cannot change the world; there is no need to change the world, and the only thing I need to do is change my perspective and my own creations. The world is perfect the way it is. I have elaborated on that thought in both my published books Your Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle and Led Down the Garden Path. A wonderful example of how people can create anger and bitterness around their inability to use the Law of Attraction effectively is best demonstrated in a book that was sent to me. Burying the Secret by Carol Rutter. It is drenched in bitterness, and in the first few chapters she explains how 17 years of pursuing the law has left her empty and disillusioned. She goes on to tell her story of struggle to make it work in her life. I urge you to get a copy of this book so that you will have a different perspective about the law. She personifies and demonstrates all the ways I have written about how not to try and use the law. I am not singling her out or her book specifically as good or bad. But it is a book that demonstrates what not to do. Her experience simply did not work for her and if what she wrote is her truth, she has demonstrated that The Law of Attraction actually did work for her. 12 Her whole manifested experience was about trying. When people get desperate to make the law work, they try harder; my advice is to do the opposite don t try!! What you will get back when you try harder is the experience of trying harder. What I suggest is to not give up. Know that things will get better; know that you already have what you want, even if you have to lie to yourself about it until you begin to believe it. Know that you are the source, the power that creates what you will experience. Be perfectly clear in what it is you wish to experience; don t keep changing your mind. Let others know what you want and stick with it. Remember opportunity does not knock at your door only once; it is always knocking, and it is your responsibility to recognize it when it does. Every stranger comes with a gift which is an opportunity for you. Opportunity always finds you unless you are hiding from it. There is a wonderful article on my web site called Sending faxes to God Inc. by John L. Payne. It demonstrates in a very humorous way, why our wants go undelivered. The Law of Attraction works for those who know that it does. It can work spontaneously on demand if you can let go of all the ideas you have about why it will not. Those people in the videos are successful because they expect to be. You might think that it is easy for them because they are already rich and they don t have to struggle, but that would simply be your opinion and not necessarily the truth. Look back on your life to events which lead up to you having or doing something that you really, really wanted. You can trace your steps back leading up to the event and you will see how they lead to the experience you wanted. Everyone can do this no matter how insignificant the event. 13 manifested in your reality. The more practice you get using the law subconsciously, the fewer your steps will be physically. The more you accept your responsibility for your creations and the power you have to change thoughts into reality, the easier it gets. This is the most important aspect of creation the law of attraction is not a thing or person; it does not exist. You are the power, the creator, and it is you who manifests your creations; nothing else. Every time you try to us the law you will fail; the law is another of your creations that only has relevance in the physical world. Your true nature is not physical; it is spirit. So it is you the spirit, who creates your experience. It is you - the power that is able to create something from nothing. There is no law, no God or system outside of you that is doing it. Manifesting becomes easier when you understand the higher purpose of your spirit. As you begin to align ego with spirit, things move easier and are less of a struggle. You will begin to see the law for what it is it is a physical manifestation of a desire to create what you imagine or think about; it is your natural ability to create; creating on autopilot. Purpose, destiny, and desire are often in conflict with each other, and when they are; struggle is experienced. The ego is the pilot, and although the destiny may be known, pilots always make course corrections. Like the pilot, your ego has absolute freedom to change the course; it is your body, your ship and you are in control in the physical experience. 14 experience creating life in all its probabilities; there is no one pulling your strings. The danger in understanding how this works is that we as physical beings want to control it physically, and it cannot be controlled from the physical experience. Your attempts to order the law of attraction would be very much like ordering pizza over the phone in English and the merchant only speaks Greek. Because you are creating from spirit and experiencing it physically, you are using the tools of spirit. The physical experience is the result not the source. Like religion, the Law of Attraction is an attempt to explain the spirit experience. You cannot explain or experience the subjective experience using a objective brain. Nor can you experience being a spirit while you are physical; and you cannot experience being physical while you are spirit unless you are both. This is the paradox of the whole spirit, ego, body experience and it works because the body is the illusion, not the source. There is only spirit, everything is spirit and therefore the experience is spiritual by nature. Once again the Law of Attraction will work for you if you understand that it does not exist, that it is a natural desire you have as spirit to create, explained in physical terms; but it s not real. The law of attraction is old news with a modern twist. It has being called other things through the centuries; magic, manifesting, creation and now, The Law of Attraction. It makes fascinating reading and is a money maker for the authors; but it is also an opportunity for awareness of your true nature. The very real danger in knowing is that Copyright 2008 by Roy E. 15 you may begin to treat it as a new god and worship it. When that happens, there are those who would exploit your vulnerability and keep you captive to its imagined power. The curse of absolute freedom is the ability to exploit each other and disempower the unaware mind. Finally, The Law of Attraction does work. Its only purpose is to remind you that you are a creator and you are the power that creates your own experience. You are not a victim unless experiencing being a victim is your desire. Let go of your old concepts which are keeping you in your small box. Demonstrate a willingness to move outside your present awareness. It is what life is all about; life is movement. The greater your awareness, the greater your ability to create even more; power is not power unless it is exercised - a creator must continue to create. Copyright 2008 by Roy E.
