Let s focus on the factors you CAN control and what you can proactively do as a homeowner to maximize your home s value: Overall Condition: Walk around your home, inside & out, on a regular basis. Fix items that obviously need to be fixed. Curb Appeal : Trim back shrubs; put fresh mulch in the flower beds, several times each year. The trim should be freshly painted in a neutral color to accent the brick. Accent doors & shutters with current colors. Have lawn treated with a professional service to ensure minimal weeds & a healthy lawn. Amenities: Swimming pools, covered patios, and outdoor kitchens help your home stand out in the crowd. Keep these items well maintained and functioning properly, otherwise they de-value your home. Cleanliness: CLEAN your home like it s never been cleaned before all the nooks & crannies and keep it clean. Have gutters cleaned as needed; have windows cleaned twice a year.
