6 CATALOG PURPOSE Make it easy for humanitarian teams to quickly identify and use the best available technology to support cash transfer programming.

7 CATALOG PURPOSE + APPROACH Purpose: Make it easy for humanitarian teams to quickly identify and use the best available technology available to support cash transfer programming. Proposed Approach: Compiles information on product features, price, deployment history and supplier points of contact. The catalog would not replace standard procurement and vetting processes. *The catalog will only include on tech that supports cash and voucher programming.

8 CATALOG AUDIENCE International and local NGOs implementing emergency cash transfer programs. UN agencies are not the focus audience, as they tend to have corporate solutions and less need and flexibility to test and adopt private & emerging tech solutions. However, the catalog could host UN-created solutions (such as WFP s Scope), if they are commercially available and deployable on a multi-country basis.

9 PRODUCT CATEGORIES Beneficiary Information Management: Tools that support the collection and management of information about program beneficiaries/participants, including registration processes. E-vouchers: Tools that digitize voucher distributions, transactions and reconciliation with merchants. E-Cash: Any electronic substitute for cash that provides full flexibility for purchases. It may be stored, spent, and/or received through a mobile phone, prepaid debit/atm card or other electronic transfer.

10 WHY NOT INCLUDE M&E TOOLS? Key Criteria for selection of tools to include in the catalog: Can this tech tool help me more efficiently send e-transfers to beneficiaries?

11 CATALOG PRINCIPLES 1. Differentiate between products that have been field tested by humanitarian agencies, and those that are new solutions. 2. The burden of populating and updating the catalogue will be placed on technology providers, but the humanitarian community will play a role in quality control/vetting. 3. The products will not be rated (?), though contacts for references may be provided. 4. The catalog will not include local e-cash technologies these are too numerous, and change too quickly, to be included successfully in a global product catalog. We will include e-cash products that are available in multiple countries.
