Imparted training to the Officials of Mining research Cell, Indian Bureau of Mines, and Nagpur on Analysis of Asbestos fiber in the workplace environment using Phase Contrast Microscope. Also analysed 36 samples collected from the Amphibole Asbestos mines in Rajasthan. The progress of work done at Nagpur is being monitored from time to time in discussion with the Officer-in-charge. 2. As a nominated member of the Technical Committee of the Project entitled Environment & Ecosystem studies in Godavari Valley Coal Belt, Andhra Pradesh - A Geochemical and Biological appraisal and redressal funded by

8 CMPDIL & Science & Technology, New Delhi., carried out at Geology Department, Osmania University in collaboration with the Singareni Collieries Company Limited. 3. Conducted field studies Four times during 1997, 1999, 2000 & Base-line data generated in Manuguru Open- Cast Coal Mines in two seasons. Respirable dust samples collected and subjected to X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopic studies for the first time. 4. General awareness lectures on Health Hazards due to Asbestos Mining & Processing conducted to the Mineworkers at Pulivendala, Cuddapah district, A.P. 5. A talk on Mine Environment and Sampling Procedures to the Supervisory Mining Personnel of Open-cast mines, MINES SAFETY & PRODUCTIVITY COUNCIL, (HYDERABAD REGION), Hyderabad under the Supervisory Development Programme for Supervisory Staff Areas of Scholarship & Research achievement (i) Planning Commission, Government of India nominated me to the Indo-British workshop on Strategic and Regional Environmental Impact Assessment, held at National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur, while working as Research Officer (Natural Science), Planning Commission, New Delhi.
