2 Training Schedule Local 158 District 106 December: 1 week crane class 40 HRS Dec. 1 st 5 th This class is designed for both a crane oiler and a journey person preparing for the NYS written crane test Dec. 1 st Dec. 5 th Rigging Awareness 16HRS Dec 8 th 9 th A rigging awareness course designed for journey person who is involved in the rigging operations. This class is both class room and hand on. A certification will NOT be given when class is completed. Forklift Refresher 4 HRS Dec 10 th Must have previously taking the initial to qualify for a refresher. Federal OSHA requires that all certified forklift operators be evaluated every three years. This class has both written and practical test

3 Forklift Initial 8 HR Dec 11 th Designed to train operators in safe operations and to be aware of hazards in the work place. Upon passing all written and practical examinations, an OSHA approved certification will be issued January: Jan. 5 th Lake George, NY This class is being held at the Holiday Inn, 2223 State route 9. You must have completed a 40 HR training before taking this class. We do not accept online training certification for refresher. 5 A basic rigging course designed for journey person who want to advance their rigging knowledge. This class is both class room and hand on. A certification will NOT be given when class is completed. Hand signal 8 HRS Jan 23 rd This course meets OSHA 29 CFR You must pass a written and practical exam to receive a certification. Jan 26 th CPR and First Aid 4 HRS Jan 27 th American Red Cross is a 2 year certification witch meets OSHA guidelines OSHA HRS Jan 28 th 29 th A course designed to help identify the common causes of accidents and fatalities in the construction industry and how to prevent or correct them February: Hazmat Initial 40 HRS Feb 2 nd 6 th Required training for any hazmat work. An OSHA approved course and certification upon satisfactory completion. This course is both class room and hands on MSHA Initial 24 HRS Feb 9 th 11 th This course is for surface mining operations only. This meets Part 46 new miner requirements

This meets Part 46 new miner requirements OSHA HRS Feb 16 th 19 th This course is designed for all journey persons working on a feudally funded job site. This is a more advanced OSHA training class to help better understand all OSHA regulations Feb 23 rd Asbestos Initial 32 HRS Feb 24 th 27 th To work on an Asbestos abatement site you must take the asbestos initial training. This class is to help understand all types of hazards on a disaster site and how to protect you and the public Crane class 5 weeks March 9 th April 10 th A comprehensive crane safety course to help with daily operations of a crane. This course is designed not only for beginners but journey person too it will cover boom truck, hydraulic, and conventional cranes Trenching & shoring 40 HRS April 13 th 17 th This course covers OSHA Subpart P Excavations. It goes over proper benching and sloping and how to safely use a trench box GPS 40HRS April 20 th 24 th Global Positioning System is used by most of our contractors.
