8 Media Production Course details This exciting new course aims to produce graduates who are the story-tellers, content-providers, and media-producers of the future creative, motivated, multi-skilled, reflective practitioners. This skills-based course is designed to develop your professional practice and understanding of digital film production, web development, audio and radio production, as well as experimenting and developing new models for media harnessing the power of emerging platforms. Career opportunities September 2015/16 Once you have successfully completed this course, you will be joining an extensive, successful alumni community and will be well placed to find work in the fluid, everchanging world of media production. This could encompass working in radio, television and/or interactive media industries The course offers a strong client-led industry approach, and aims to imbue students with the resolve and diligence to pursue solutions to communications problems and storytelling possibilities and equip students with the competencies and critical thinking required to thrive and evolve in the fluid, ever-changing creative media industry

9 Television Production September 2015/16 Course details This course aims to produce graduates who are the television programme makers of the future - creative, motivated, flexible and multi-skilled. Developed in conjunction with television professionals, it focuses on the role of the producer/director and enables students to initiate, develop and produce high quality productions for television as well as building a clear understanding of current professional practice in the wider media industries. Career Opportunities Many of our graduates have quickly achieved varied and senior positions within television, e.g: Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 Head of Technical Development, BBC Director, GMTV Producer/Director, Top Gear This understanding is complemented by a deep appreciation of the theoretical and academic issues relating to contemporary television production. A key feature of the course is that every student individually authors and directs two programmes in their final year.

10 Radio Course details This course has been developed in partnership with our distinguished panel of radio industry advisers ensuring that the delivery of radio skills is consistently relevant. You will work with students studying Digital Media Design, Scriptwriting and Television Production to provide collaborative crossplatform content and will be given the opportunity to collaborate with other students in the Media School to manage and produce radio output. Career Opportunities The course provides an ideal route into working in this competitive industry. You ll be able to explore employment in areas such as radio production in speech and music genres, programme development, online broadcast and podcast production, presentation, marketing and regulation.

11 Scriptwriting for Film and TV Course details This scriptwriting degree course is a highly focused and unique training ground in creating what is the very foundation of film and television fiction - the script. Scripts for film and television feed the industry and, ultimately, dictate its creative direction. Career Opportunities Successful graduates emerge not only with the skill, creativity and experience to write high quality TV and film scripts, but also with the ability to assess and develop scripts creatively and with a profound working understanding of the TV and film industry they are entering. Students on the course also work collaboratively with students on other courses within the Framework, giving them opportunities to see their work made (short films, webisodes, radio podcasts etc.) and form creative partnerships which may be used to forge career opportunities.
