For easier installation for a Flex-Line ring with a 5 3 diameter or less, we recommend that you cut the track into two equal sections and connect the track segments with 2 connectors. 5 Step Two: Design Your Flex-Line Track System End Caps: Be sure to add End Caps to each run. See box D. D. Qty. Part Num Supports: Determine number of supports. Ceiling supports and wall supports are all available options. You should allow one support for every 3 ft. on straight track runs. See worksheet 3 to figure out how many supports needed, place into box E. Curved track runs require additional supports at changes of direction. Due to the flexible nature of Flex-Line track, the supports must be strategically placed to hold the track in the desired shape. Note: For heavy fixtures supports should be every 2 feet OR the fixture or pendants must be located near the support. An isolating connector is required to electrically isolate your track into multiple 2 x 300W sections. See worksheet 4 to figure out how many connectors are needed, and place into box F. F conductive isolator Power Supply: Determine the drop from the ceiling to the system. And whether you will be using a Power feed or Canopy feed. Power feed; supplies the system from an external transformer used in conjunction with feeder cable. See box G. Canopy feed; supply the system from an external transformer in the suspended ceiling. Determine the number of Canopy feeds needed by total wattage, refer to worksheet 4. Power Supply Cable; for every Power Feed add 15 ft. of cable. Example: 12ft. of track/3 + 1 = 5 supports track/3 + 1 = supports Choose the support that matches the desired length. Place number of supports into box E. Note: See box A-1 to determine if isolator connector is needed. FLW = Fixture Lamp Wattage Refer A-1 for Total Wattage LR = Load Requirement FLW = LR LR/600W = isolators Example: 800W = 800LR 800LR/600W = 1 isolators Closed circuit systems (ring, square, etc.) will require one additional isolator. The isolating connector can replace the use of the track connector if its placement does not conflict with the desired placement of fixtures. Each 2 x 300W section will require a power feed, power supply cable, and two transformers. Some Flex-Line power feeds have the capacity to power both sides of the dual circuit track guage, power supply cable 4
