The Master of Professional Accounting Program (MPAcc) has been designed to prepare graduates for the world of professional accounting, with the knowledge and skills they need to function in a highly competitive business environment. This program takes your accounting and undergraduate education to the next level. We continue to develop your critical thinking skills so you can better apply your knowledge to identify, stimulate and participate in the creation of workable solutions for organizations. 4 Master of Professional Accounting MPAcc is a graduate degree program that attracts students from across Canada. It provides an alternative route for students seeking the CPA designation in Canada. MPAcc runs for two terms over consecutive summers from May to August. 9 Admission Requirements Admission to the program requires a four-year university baccaluerate degree in business with an accounting major. Students must demonstrate their ability to pursue advanced study, with a minimum 75% average in the last two years of undergraduate study. The following courses in Canadian accounting, auditing and tax must be successfully completed by the time students enter the program: 3 cr. Intermediate Financial Accounting I 3 cr. Intermediate Financial Accounting II 3 cr. Advanced Financial Accounting 3 cr. Intermediate Managerial/Cost Accounting 3 cr. Advanced Managerial/Cost Accounting 3 cr. Taxation (Corporate and Personal) 3 cr. Auditing/Assurance 3 cr. Intermediate Finance 3 cr. MIS (Management Information Systems) 3 cr. Strategy and Governance 3 cr. Business Law 6 cr. Economics 3 cr.
