2 FindMe F2 SATELLITE TRACKING SYSTEM PRIMARY FUNCTION To determine and to transmit to a user exact LBS and GPS/GLONASS position of a stolen or lost vehicle, valuable cargo, expensive equipment. Positioning technologies in use: GPS (Global Positioning System), GLONASS systems are satellite positioning systems to determine any target position and speed virtually in any place of the Earth. The main operation principle of the systems is to determine position by measuring distance to the target from points with known positions i.e. satellites. Positioning accuracy is within 5-20 m. LBS (Location Based Services) is a technology which allows positioning using the nearest GSM-stations instead of satellite data. LBS positioning accuracy is slightly lower than GPS/ GLONASS positioning. Positioning accuracy within the urban area is m. 2

7 FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES Housing dimensions: 104x45x19 mm Device weight: 100 g Operating temperature range: between -40 and +70 C Sectional waterproof housing FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon has a sectional waterproof housing which enables you to install the device in high humidity places: inside the bumper, under the car wing, etc. Also, this feature allows you to use the device to track and return the stolen ATVs, snowmobiles, outboard engines, valuable cargo, special vehicles, expensive equipment (welding equipment, diesel plants, and compressors), etc. Furthermore, the sectional housing of the device enables you to replace SIM-card and batteries without any professional help. You can insert SIM-card of any GSM mobile operator and then to control and service it by yourself. The open protocol enables you to connect FindMe F2 to public monitoring systems or to develop your own ones. 7

The standard removable back cover provides the device watertightness. The cover connectable to the onboard power system of a vehicle allows you to use the device as a minitracker without regular battery replacement. 8

10 FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES Li/SOCl 2 batteries FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon has two Li/SOCl 2 AA batteries of 1800 mah capacity each. They provide stable device operation during long time. The batteries are able to operate at low temperatures and have low self-discharge. In case when the batteries are discharged, you can replace them without effort and any help. Pre-installed MTS SIM-card Installed SIM-card has active unit charge rate with GSM and GPRS traffic completely paid for the whole life time of the device. You will not be charged any subscription or one-time payments when using the beacon in «bug» mode. 10

11 FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES Android-based FindMe irz Online mobile application The tracking beacon can be controlled using free FindMe irz Online mobile application, developed for the device based on Android Operating System. The procedure of the application download is as follows: 1) Go to Google Play store at 2) Enter in search box FindMe irz Online or use the direct link store/apps/details?id=us.irz.findme&hl=ru 3) Tap download button FindMe irz Online will be installed automatically. To use the application, you will need to install Google Play services and Android OS of 2.2. version or higher. FindMe irz Online displays on the map the tracked target position and movement direction both at the moment of last communication contact and for the specified date. All main settings of the beacon are available: enabling / disabling tracking mode, change of position transmission interval while tracking, setting of contact frequency in standard mode. Also, the application displays information about positioning accuracy, speed, signal level, and temperature. Setup and monitoring with FindMe irz Online is carried out for all devices available in personal area at 11

They have low power consumption and high level of fail-safety. As a whole, these components make FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon to be state-ofthe-art and highly reliable device. 13

14 PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON Device When pre-installed SIM-card is used, FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon applies the following interaction scheme: Device - Server - Client All data from the device and the user pass through the secured server and are processed and stored during unlimited time. The apparent advantage of the above scheme is that you can view all history data and statistics related to your device in your personal area. If any malfunction of the device occurs, data will never be lost. All data are kept on the server. Server FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon does not store any information about the user himself or any data about him. Client 14

15 PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON All information including changes, operation mode change, new settings, etc. is received by FindMe F2 only when it contacts the server. FindMe F2 cannot receive user and server online commands, if pre-installed SIM-card is used or tracking mode is not active. FindMe F2 is not designed to receive information «by request». You can set frequency and time of contact at your own discretion. This principle of FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon operation is in our view ideal and effective to the greatest possible extent as far as it allows to: 1. Save battery charge to ensure maximum time of offline operation. 2. Keep FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon invisible for GSM network scan-analyzers. In the period of no data transmission or communication to the server, the device does not emit any signals, so it is well hidden. 15

16 PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon can operate in several modes: Standard mode Tracking mode Standard mode In this mode the device stays in sleeping mode most of the time and contacts the server according to the schedule set in personal area. You can set this parameter in the range between 1 and 7 days (by default, one-contact per day). FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon determines its (LBS) position, battery charge level, ambient temperature. Using (GPRS) mobile Internet, the beacon sends all data to the server, and then requests the server for the next operation mode set by the user in his personal area. Upon saving the current settings, the device goes into sleeping mode until the following contact. 16

17 PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON Tracking mode You can activate this mode in your personal area at or using FindMe mobile application, as well as by sending SMS text message with the device name to single phone number +7 (911) When information about tracking mode activation is received, the device contacts the server according to the schedule set in personal area. You can set this parameter in the range between 1 minute and 96 hours (by default, once every two hours). FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon determines its (GPS/GLONASS) position, battery charge level, ambient temperature, movement speed and direction. The device sends all data to the server and repeats them to the user by sending SMS text message (if this feature is enabled in personal area). After receiving the data from FindMe F2, you can view the device position on Yandex, Google, or OSM maps from any device including your mobile phone or tablet PC (if such functionality is available). 17

18 HOW TO TURN ON AND LOG ON FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON In developing FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon, we tried to create the most practical and easy-to use device. 1 To turn on and log on your FindMe F2, you will have to follow just two simple steps: 1. Press and hold «ACT» button on the device housing XXX XXX XX XX 2. Send blank SMS text message to the number provided on the rear panel of the device. 18

19 HOW TO TURN ON AND LOG ON FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON Within 3-5 minutes you will receive two SMS text messages: 1. SMS notifying you the device has been activated 2. SMS acknowledgement of logging-on on the server containing login and password to enter your personal area at After logging-on, the device will contact the server and receive standard schedule by default. You should only install the beacon and be sure that in emergency FindMe F2 will help you to return your vehicle. 19

20 HOW TO INSTALL FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON Please, take into consideration the following when installing your FindMe F2 GPS beacon: Never install FindMe F2 near high temperature areas Never install near movable parts of the vehicle Never install the device with «FindMe» label faced towards metal element Important Notice! With two or more FindMe F2 GPS beacons installed with different operation modes, chances of vehicle return dramatically increase. 20

22 HOW TO INSTALL FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON When installing FindMe F2, we recommend you to test it. To do this, place GPS/GLONASS beacon in the expected installation location and press «ACT» button as you did to turn on the device while logging on This operation should be done outside any room to ensure that GSM and GPS/GLONASS signal quality is close to actual conditions as much as possible and the signals do not interfere with buildings, hangars, or garages, etc. After pressing «ACT» button, FindMe F2 will be forced to make a contact (beyond the schedule), determine GSM signal level, GPS/GLONASS position, and transmit data to the server. In case of successful test (and if the appropriate settings of the device under test are set), you will receive SMS text message with your position. 22

23 HOW TO CONTROL AND SET UP FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON When login and password are received, you can setup the device and view information about its operation and state in your personal area at If you have several FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacons which are logged on with the same phone number, they will be displayed in one personal area and can be individually selected. In your personal area you can use the following functionality: To change operation mode of the device To set intervals and time of FindMe F2 communication contact To activate function of user SMS notifications To connect international roaming To set up accelerometer functions To view history of the transmitted positions on map To receive full information about the device operation and state To change the device name, password to enter the system, your mobile phone number Warning! 25 FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS BEACON BATTERIES The main parameters of such devices are: Maximum operation time of the device Guaranteed communication contact and transmission of GPS/GLONASS beacon position in emergency To ensure the above parameters, FindMe F2 has two Li/SOCl 2 batteries with total capacity of 3600 mah. In accordance with the operation mode and conditions, these batteries provide up to two years of safe operation of FindMe F2 GPS/GLONASS beacon without replacement. You need not to monitor the battery charge level. When passing 20% and 10% charge level, the server will automatically inform you with SMS alerts. 25
