1 Navigation, Signal Analysis and Simulation Group The NavSAS Research Group NavSAS research group is a joint team of Politecnico di Torino and ISMB Research in the areas of satellite navigation and Positioning Joint labs in the Navigation Technologies research area of ISMB Starting from a signal processing approach to Navigation and Positioning the group evolved to cover several aspects of the positioning chain, by using a theoretical and simulation approach complemented with experimental skills. NavSAS, according to a EC survey is considered one of the 3 teams of excellence in the field of Navigation in Europe 2 1

5 N-Gene software receiver N-Gene is a real time software receiver for GPS L1 and Galileo E1 signals N-Gene has been developed by the NavSAS group, thanks to the experience gained over the past years on GNSS technologies Powerful research tool, often used in projects and internal scientific programs Useful as data recorder, storing raw data samples to hard disk and for postmission analysis Enables processing of simulated data compliant to both GPS and Galileo 9 GNSS platforms for safety and environment Core technologies of Safety-of-Life receivers and applications (SoL) Secure navigation and analysis of new liability-critical systems based on GNSS Countermeasures to civilian spoofing and authentication mechanism Test of new prototypes and on field measurements Remote sensing measuring GPS back-scattered signals with software receivers Design of efficient systems, based on GNSS technologies, for fleet management 10 5
6 Higher education The Higher Education Unit cooperates with many European and Asian Universities in the field of the Higher GNSS Education. In Asia the focus is on ASEAN countries, in particular Vietnam and Thailand. The NAVIS Centre in the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam), opened in 2010 and it is dedicated to European GNSS Technology. In Europe the main initiative is G-TRAIN. Aim of this project is to set up a European framework for higher education in the field of GNSS boosting networking activities among academia. Permanent member of WG on Education of the International Committee on GNSS, managed by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs in Vienna. 11 Higher education: MNRA The Master in Navigation and Related Applications is a joint Specializing Master between Politecnico di Torino and ISMB. The MNRA is supported by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. Specializing Master 1 year full-time with a final internship Completely in English 104 students from 35 countries in 7 editions.
