EYE TESTING A KC/BVA/ISDS Eye Testing Clinic will be held at the show in the Veterinary Suite (Hall 18). Examination by Mrs Lorna Newman BVMS CertVOphthal MRCVS is open to dogs entered at the show at a cost of 35 per dog. Gonioscopy is not available. Please remember to bring along your KC Registration paper and previous eye certificate. KENNEL GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME In addition to displays at various times during the day, it will be possible to have your dog tested for the Bronze Award. Charge of 2 per dog will be donated to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust. ACCOMMODATION Exhibitors requiring overnight accommodation may obtain a list of hotels from: Exhibitors are advised to ensure that the hotel/guest house of their choice will accept dogs. CATERING Catering facilities are available in the halls from 8.00 am each day. The licensed bars open at am. EXHIBITORS PASSES Postal entries: Passes will be despatched direct from the printers and if they are not received exhibitors should contact Higham Press on Online entries: You will receive your Exhibitors Passes at the appropriate time through your personal on-line account. Approximately 2 weeks before the show you will be informed by that your Exhibitors Passes are in your account and by SMS text to your mobile phone if you wish. Take these steps: Login to your account and choose the option My Account History there you will see with your Show Entry record a line saying Download your Exhibitors Pass - click this link and your Exhibitors Pass will appear - print it - take it to the show. There may also be a Show Information Leaflet - print this. Be aware that the Exhibitors Passes are not sent to you by but will be in your account ready to be printed off by you and used at the show in the normal way. PLEASE ENSURE YOUR PASSES ARE READY TO HAND OVER BY SEPARATING THE VARIOUS SECTIONS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. EXERCISE AREAS Designated EXERCISE AREAS will be provided inside and outside the halls. In order to maintain the cleanliness of the Show, exhibitors are requested to make use of these areas for the exercise of exhibits. Exhibitors are reminded that it is their responsibility to clear up any fouling by their dogs outside the designated exercise areas. IDENTIFICATION OF CAGES/CRATES In accordance with new Kennel Club guidelines, exhibitors must display exhibit number/owner identification on their crate, cage or container at all times. SPECTATOR DOGS Unentered dogs from 4 months of age may be brought into the show. A brief form MUST be completed at the entrance and a fee of 5 paid (cash only). NO SMOKING In accordance with the Health Act 2006 smoking is prohibited throughout all Venues including any temporary demountable structures. All exhibitions, events and other activities will implement a smoke free policy during all stages of build up/open period and breakdown. Designated smoking areas are clearly identified to ensure that employees and customers know where they can smoke. 2

The Association is unable to accept Euro cheques or cheques drawn on overseas Banks. Entry fees must be paid in sterling and any cheques must be drawn on a UK Bank or paid by sterling Bankers Draft or by Giro International Money order drawn in sterling (GBP) ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED ONCE AN ENTRY HAS BEEN MADE Entries may be made online at Note: Entries made online AFTER the close of paper entries will be an additional 2 per dog entered The stated entry fees are inclusive of Value Added Tax at the standard rate. Exhibitors who are themselves registered for VAT may reclaim the tax paid. Those who require a receipt for this purpose are requested to enclose a stamped addressed envelope with their entries stating clearly that a VAT receipt is required. The Association s VAT Registration Number is EXHIBITORS ARE ASKED TO NOTE THAT CHEQUES SENT TO COVER ENTRY FEES MUST BE IN ORDER FOR IMMEDIATE PAYMENT. THOSE WHICH ARE NOT SO FOR ANY REASON, (INCLUDING TECHNICAL IRREGULARITIES) MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THE ENTRIES THEREWITH RETURNED. THE LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION INCURS BANK AND ADMINISTRATION CHARGES AS A RESULT OF DISHONOURED CHEQUES, THEREFORE A SURCHARGE OF WILL BE LEVIED IN ADDITION TO THE AMOUNT OWING IN ENTRY FEES. ANY EXHIBITOR FAILING TO PAY THIS SURCHARGE WILL BE REPORTED TO THE KENNEL CLUB. A SURCHARGE OF 5 WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM ANY REFUND MADE, E.G. 6 THE NATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE B40 1NT BY AIR Birmingham International Airport is adjacent to the NEC and there is a direct connection via the AIR-RAIL LINK. BY RAIL Birmingham International Station is situated within the NEC complex. The journey from London (Euston) takes approximately 80 minutes by a frequent fast train service. NB Services on a Sunday may be reduced, you are advised to check timetables before travelling. There is also a frequent local train service from Birmingham (New Street) and Coventry to Birmingham International. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Exhibitors arriving by train with dogs should use the internal Bridge Link from the Station Concourse and part way along use the signed lift and stairs to exit the Station to outside Hall 2, where a Shuttle Bus will transport you to Hall 17. If you prefer you may follow the dedicated pedestrian footpath to the halls (indicated by blue footprints). Visitors arriving by train without dogs may follow the above instructions or proceed to the Main Piazza and use the Skywalk to access the halls. NB Dogs (with the exception of Assistance Dogs) are NOT ALLOWED in the Main Piazza. THE UNDERPASS FROM THE WEST CAR PARK WILL NOT BE OPEN. EXHIBITORS CHOOSING TO USE THE RAILWAY STATION CAR PARK SHOULD FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE. NB ACCESS INTO THE RAILWAY STATION IS NOT SUITABLE FOR LARGE TROLLEYS. BY CAR or COACH The NORTH CAR PARKS ONLY will be in use. Once on site exhibitors and visitors should follow the NEC internal matrix signs to North Car Parks 2-4. The NEC will levy a charge of 6 for car parking. This CANNOT BE PRE-PAID but will be payable on the show days directly to the NEC authorities. Pay kiosks are sited on the North Car Parks. Exhibitors living locally who require to be dropped off ONLY, may use N1b Car Park. NB No parking will be allowed in N1b; parked vehicles will be towed away by the NEC. THERE IS A GENTLE SLOPE DOWN FROM THE CAR PARKS AND EXHIBITORS WITH TROLLEYS ARE ADVISED TO GIVE CONSIDERATION AS TO HOW THEIR TROLLEYS ARE LOADED. Vehicles bearing the Official Blue Disabled Badge will be parked outside Hall 17 or inside DISABLED DRIVERS Hall 16. Disabled exhibitors benched in Hall 6 or 20 may access the halls via a signed pedestrian route from Hall 16 rather than via Halls The Disabled Parking areas are accessed via Gate 3; once on site follow the NEC internal matrix signs. The NEC will levy a charge of 6 for car parking. This CANNOT BE PRE-PAID but will be payable on the show days directly to the NEC authorities. IT IS STRESSED THAT NEITHER THE NEC NOR THE LKA CAN ISSUE THESE DISABLED DRIVERS LABELS. THEY MAY ONLY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DRIVER S OWN LOCAL AUTHORITY. 7 Rules and Regulations LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW VICIOUS DOGS are not eligible and must not be sent to the Show. Exhibitors are held responsible for any damage done by their dogs during the Exhibition. A dog docked on or after the 6th April 2007 may not be entered for exhibition at this show. 1 The Show will open for Exhibitors at 7.30 am each day. No dogs can be admitted before that hour. 2 Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor s responsibility to ensure that exhibits are available for judging when required. 3 Breed Judging will commence at 9.30 am each day. Junior Handlers classes start at 8.30 am. In the event that it becomes necessary to commence judging at any time other than indicated as above, exhibitors will be notified when the passes are dispatched and an announcement will appear on the Association s website. 4 Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may not be removed earlier unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the Show Management and then only in very exceptional and unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the Kennel Club. The Show will close half an hour after all judging has been completed by which time all dogs must be removed. 5 The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of tenting and benching areas is forbidden except as authorised by the Show Management. 6 ENTRY FEES: In breed classes where Challenge Certificates are on offer the entry fee is for each dog in its first class and 3.00 per class for any subsequent entries with the same dog. In breed classes where Challenge Certificates are NOT on offer, and AVNSC & AV Imported Register classes, the entry fee is for each dog in its first class and 3.00 per class for any subsequent entries with the same dog. Spectator Dogs 5 (payable at the show). Not For Competition 5 per dog. Junior Handling 3 per dog. Entries may be made online at FIRST ENTRY FEES INCREASE BY 2 DURING THE EXTENDED ONLINE PERIOD OCT Prize money where paid is detailed under the relevant Stakes Classes. NB Prize money not collected at the show must be claimed within 31 days or it will be forfeited. 8 The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 9 Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition. 10 The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 11 Best Puppy in Breed. A Best Puppy in each breed will be declared from puppies entered in the breed classes but there will be NO competition for Best Puppy in Show. BestVeteraninBreed.A Best Veteran in each breed will be declared from dogs/bitches entered in the Veteran breed classes ONLY but there will be NO competition for Best VeteraninShow. 12 Best in Show. From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. (Please refer to the FAQs on the Kennel Club Website for further information). The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the same Show. Definition of a Category 3 Breed. A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as requiring particular monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list of designated Category 3 Breeds is kept under regular review. (a) Shows Judged on the Group System. (Definition; Shows judged on the Group System includes classes for breeds within more than one Group as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each Group after which the exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.) (1) Best of Breed. Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs which have received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared. NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a Category 3 Breed will not be confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and Group Championship Show Veterinary Surgeon. (2) Best of Group. From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. (Please refer to the FAQs on the Kennel Club Website for further information). Best of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from:- (a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs. (b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group or on each day. 1) NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breed designated by the Kennel Club as a Category 3 Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show s Veterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group. 3) Best in Show. From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to 6

8 compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. (Please refer to the FAQs on the Kennel Club Website for further information). Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show. (b) Withdrawal from other Competition. Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes. (c) Proviso. For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs. 13 Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management. 14 Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F Annex B Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. 16 All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 17 Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days: Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at Kennel Club licensed events. Whentravellingtoashowpleasetakeamomenttoconsiderwhethertheroutetotheshowisonabusy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. 18 Not For Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. N.B. Dogs must be at least 4 calendar months of age on the first day of the show. 19 No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 20 All paper entries must be made on or before Monday 19th October 2015 upon forms enclosed for that purpose. Each exhibitor must fill in a separate form for each partnership, otherwise the entry may not be accepted. The entry fee for each dog will be as stated in the schedule. One dog can be entered in several classes if eligible, but full entrance fee must be paid for each class. The entrance fee must be forwarded to the Secretary with the Entry Form not later than Monday 19th October 2015 (Royal Mail Postmark). If an envelope containing entries bears more than one postmark, the latest date will be considered to be the date of posting. Entries delivered by hand to the Secretary s address, either by an Exhibitor or his/her agent, must be handed in on or before the date stated for the closing of entries by postmark; i.e. before midnight on Monday 19th October The only proof of posting entries acceptable is the Certificate of Posting, Recorded Delivery or Registered Mail receipt issued by the Post Office. Online entries may be made up to noon on Monday 26th October 2015 at 21 If acknowledgement of paper entries is required, an addressed stamped card with receipt written on the reverse side should be enclosed. 22 All dogs must be brought with a suitable strong chain and collar properly fastened on the dog. 23 A dog entered in a wrong class is liable to be disqualified from the competition by the Kennel Club and the entrance fee forfeited. The entrance fee of a dog entered, but not sent to the Show will be forfeited. 24 The Committee is empowered to exclude any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition, from disease, vice, natural or other causes, and if such exclusion takes place, either before or after the dog is judged, the entrance fee will be forfeited. 25 The Catalogue will contain the owners names in each breed in alphabetical order with their dogs in numerical order. All dogs will be benched in the catalogue order and owners dogs of the same breed will be benched together. No decorations, pictures, cards or other notices may be placed over the benches except the Official Prize Cards and exhibitors name and address and in accordance with KC. Regulations. No bench numbers shall be changed from one pen to another and no dog shall be benched on any but its own numbered pen. Under no circumstances may partitions between the dogs be removed. 7

9 26 Exhibitors will receive a free pass for admission to the show for each dog entered. In the case of a SINGLE dog entered by a partnership ONE extra free pass will be issued irrespective of the number of exhibitors in the partnership. 27 The Dog Show will be open to the public at 8.00 a.m. Admission to visitors Adults 8.00 (inc. VAT), Senior Citizens and children under (inc. VAT). 28 Dogs should be present on their benches at all times except when being judged, being prepared for exhibition and/or being exercised. In certain circumstances dogs must be present on their benches at all times if required by the show management. The show management must ensure that gangways are kept clear at all times. 29 Conversation not allowed in the Judging Ring. Exhibitors showing dogs are not allowed to hold conversation with the judges during the competition. No person other than the exhibitors (officials excepted) will be allowed in the ring during the judging of classes or specials. 30 Should any of the judges be prevented from fulfilling their engagements, the Committee reserves to itself the right of appointing other judges to fulfill their duties. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entry fees will be returned. 31 The judges will be instructed and empowered to withhold the prize or prizes in any class if, in their opinion, the dog or dogs exhibited do not possess sufficient merit. 32 All judges are requested to take the classes in each breed in the order in which they are entered in the Judging Book. 33 Objections and Protests. All objections must be made in accordance with the KC. Regulation F The Committee and/or Officials will not be in any way responsible for any claim for injury or compensation occasioned by or arising out of the holding of the Show, or by reason of the act of default of any person in attendance or present thereat. 35 In the case of emergency, as to which the Committee shall be the sole judge, the Committee may, at its discretion, alter the place of holding the Show, either before or after the entries are received. In the case of such alteration, no exhibitor shall be entitled to the return of any entry money which may have been paid by him/her before receiving notice of the same. 36 Rules and Regulations, or definitions and instructions of the nature of Rules and Regulations, printed for convenience in other parts of this Schedule shall be deemed to be the regulations of the Committee and shall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations. 37 An announcement prior to the date of closing of entries in Our Dogs or the Dog World of any alterations or additions made in the Schedule or in these Regulations shall be deemed to be sufficient notice thereof. 38 Committee the Sole Authority. The Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of these Rules and of the Bye-Laws and Regulations made thereunder subject to the right of appeal to the Committee of the Kennel Club; and the decision of the Committee upon any question of interpretation or upon any matter affecting the Club or dog or Dog Shows and not provided for by these Rules or by the Constitution and Bye-Laws or any Regulation, shall be final and binding. A person attending or entering a dog for any show shall by such act be deemed to have agreed with the Committee to refer any such question or dispute to the Committee. 39 Dogs in the Ring. The Committee will not be responsible for exhibitors missing their classes. 40 The Committee can accept no responsibility for products advertised or sold at the Show and exhibitors are reminded of the Kennel Club Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition F (B). 41 Owing to the risk of fire NO straw or similar bedding will be provided or allowed for Exhibits. Exhibitors may bring rugs etc. for use on their benches if they so wish. 42 The benches are provided to accommodate the dogs. They are not suitable and should not be used as seating for persons. 43 If entries are made for a dog which is not eligible for entry (e.g. an under-age puppy) an administration fee of 5.00 will be deducted before the entry fee is refunded. The same administration fee will apply to duplicated entries. 44 Photography and Video Rights: The Organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming to the attention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors. It is a condition of all those attending the event that no filming or other form of recording may be taken or made at the venue without express written permission of the organisers. The taking of photographs in the show venue for sale or reward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Organisers. Press accredited photographers are provided with permission to take photographs ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and internet sites this is for news purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs of general views of the show, provided that these are for private use. Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor. No photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually taking place. However, judges may allow it to happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certificate is awarded. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being affected, a ring steward or the judge is empowered to stop the person concerned. 10 DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES NB. The word dog includes both sexes. PUPPIES UNDER SIX CALENDAR MONTHS OF AGE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXHIBITION In the following definitions a Challenge Certificate includes any show award that counts towards the title of Champion under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club. Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Member s classes or competing for Members specials, each partner must, at the time of entry, be a Member of the Association. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of paper entries shall be counted when entering for any class (i.e. 12th October, 2015). Wins in Variety Classes do not count for entry in Breed Classes, but when entering in Variety Classes, wins in both Breed and Variety Classes must be counted. A Variety Class is one in which more than one Breed or Variety of a Breed can compete. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value. A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety Classes unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed Class where such a Class is provided for which it is eligible. Exemptions from these Regulations are:- From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class have been suspended. (a) A Puppy, unless a Class for dogs under twelve months of age for which it is eligible is provided for the breed. (b) A dog in Any Variety Veteran Class. (c) A dog in Any Variety Champion Class. (d) A dog which is withdrawn from exhibition in breed classes as a result of the appointment of an emergency Z judge. (e) A dog in Any Variety Good Citizen Dog Scheme class. (f) Exhibits bred by the scheduled breed Judge. If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose one of the following options:- (1) Withdrawal. The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20. (2) Transfer. (a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height or, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted, to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height; (b) For an exhibit entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy Class, Puppy Class or Junior Class, which is over age but under twelve calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or twenty four calendar months of age respectively, the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy Class, Junior Class or Yearling Class respectively for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling Class to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height; (c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open Class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height. (d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be transferred to any other class. With these provisos the following are the definitions of certain classes MINOR PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the FIRST day of the Show. PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the FIRST day of the Show. JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the FIRST day of the Show. YEARLING For dogs of twelve and not exceeding twenty-four calendar months of age on the FIRST day of the Show. SPECIAL BEGINNERS For owner, handler or exhibit not having won a Challenge Certificate. GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or four or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Graduate, Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open Classes, whether restricted or not, where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed. POST GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or five or more First Prizes at Championship shows in Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open Classes, whether restricted or not, where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed. MID LIMIT For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body recognised by The Kennel Club or won five or more First Prizes in all at Championship Shows in Mid Limit, Limit or Open Classes, confined to the breed, whether restricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed. LIMIT For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body recognised by The Kennel Club or won seven or more First Prizes in all, at Championship Shows in Limit or Open Classes, confined to the breed, whether restricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed. OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show. VETERAN For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the FIRST day of the Show. 9

11 IMPORTED REGISTER For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when an Interim Breed Standard has been published by the Kennel Club. Such breeds may be exhibited in this class only, and are ineligible for any other competition whatsoever. ANY VARIETY NOT SEPARATELY CLASSIFIED For breeds of dog for which no separate breed classes are scheduled. GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME CLASS For dogs that have achieved their GCDS Bronze Award Certificate or above. NOT FOR COMPETITION Societies may at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries. Societies may accept such entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed. Regulation F.1.c: Only dogs of six calendar months of age and over on the first day of the show are eligible for exhibition at Kennel Club licensed shows. However societies may accept Not for Competition entries at their discretion and dogs aged four calendar months of age and over are eligible to enter Not for Competition at all Kennel Club licensed shows. Furthermore, dogs aged four calendar months of age and over are eligible to enter Match Competitions. REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F Annex B 1 These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel Club Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under these Show Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A42. (a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be disqualified from exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat. (b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a fine or as listed under Rule (a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog s coat for any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part of the dog may be present on the dog for any purpose at any time during the Show. (b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition. 3 No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except: (a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee. (b) The removal of dewclaws of any breed. (c) Operations to prevent breeding, provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel Club before neutered dogs are shown. Nor must anything be done calculated to in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive. 4 The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any Show. Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a written directive from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination and analysis. 5 An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog competing in the same breed or class, an objection may, however, be lodged by an official of the Show or by anyone so deputed by the Kennel Club. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or the official (as appropriate) to substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club will substantiate the grounds for an objection made on its behalf. 6 Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing to the Show Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence of identity at the time of lodging the complaint.
