Hence, an online counselling would take place after the announcement of the CLAT results, wherein the candidates will be able to mark the preferences of the NLUs for admission within the stipulated period mentioned in the schedule. 86. How many candidates will be selected for counseling through CLAT? The first 2500 candidates (comprising 40% extra candidates proportionately from various categories such as General/SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc.) in the merit list will be allowed to participate in the online counselling against the actual seats available with the participating NLUs, by logging in to the personal Login Account on the CLAT website. 87. What is the initial deposit money required for CLAT Counseling? At the time of registration, candidate will need to deposit the adjustable fees of `1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) either online/offline through the website. 88. On what basis will the Merit List be published? The university-wise first provisional allotment list based on merit-cum-preference will be published on the CLAT Website for the exact number of seats available with a NLU taking into consideration the university-wise preferences obtained from the candidates during the counseling session, their CLAT score and Rank. The list will also be made available to the respective participating Universities. 89. Will there be any waiting list for CLAT Counseling? A list of waitlisted candidates will also be issued along with the Provisional Allotment List, from the first 2500 candidates who had undertaken the counselling after remitting the fees. The comprehensive list will be prepared by picking up candidates proportionately from various categories such as General/SC/ST/OBC/PWD/DFF/NRI etc. both from the All India and State (Domicile) category of candidates. 90. If a student does not take/fails to take admission to an NLU, will the initial registration fee be refunded? After depositing the required amount of fees and taking part in the counselling session with the CLAT office by the stipulated date, if the waitlisted candidates fail to get a seat/does not take a seat in any of the Universities due to non-availability of vacancy, the entire amount of Rs.1,00,000/- deposited by such candidates will be refunded to them without any deduction.

10 91. Will there be any subsequent merit lists after the first allotment list is published for CLAT? Those candidates who fail to report to the Universities and complete the admission formalities within a stipulated date will forfeit their claim for admission and their seats will be filled-up by the University by following its own procedure and not by the CLAT Office. The respective Universities will be reporting the details of admission to the CLAT Office including the number of vacancies that might remain due to non-reporting of the candidates allotted under the lst, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Actual Allotment List. This would help the CLAT Office make the declaration of the final allotment. 92. On what occasions do students needs to make payments on the CLAT website? A student needs to make payments on the CLAT website on the following occasions only i. Submitting the Online Application Form ii. If interested in downloading the Previous Year s Question papers and iii. While participating in the counseling session. 93. What are the online modes of payments available? The online payment can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card etc. wherein the candidate will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees through payment gateways. 94. What are the offline modes of payments available? For paying the fees offline through website, the candidate will have to download the 'Bank Challan' that will be generated with the required information, as filled in by the candidate, and make the payment with additional bank charges at any branch of the SBI. After making the requisite payment at the bank, the candidate needs to fill-in the details of the Bank Challan as required at the relevant section of the website. 95. What documents are needed during application to CLAT/Law Entrance Exams? The scanned attested photocopies of the documents to be uploaded in the PDF format (or as specified) by all the candidates are: i. Birth Certificate ii. Standard X Marksheet iii.
