Getting Started SinoPac Securities (Asia) US Online Trading platform has the following features to help you profit from markets in the US: Direct orders to NASDAQ and NYSE markets Limit and Stop orders Multi-Watchlists and Portfolio management tools Business News Company profile 1.1 Systems Requirements The minimum recommended system requirements for the SinoPac Securities (Asia) US Online Trading platform are: A Pentium 5 class PC or equivalent A monitor capable of displaying a resolution of 1280 x Gb of RAM or more Internet access Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and above, Mozilla Firefox or better 1.2 Logging in Access to: Click US Stock Trading login After log in successfully, please select Stock Trading US Stock and a new pop up window exists. Please click I agree to the Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure Statement and then click Continue to trading website. You will reach the main menu of US trading platform. 2

3 2. Main Menu After you have logged on to the trading U.S. website, you will be directed to the Welcome page below. There are 2 bars on the website. The main navigation bar is located on the top allows you to access the various functions on the website. The side bar is located on the left allows you to access each of the functions under the main navigation bar. Main navigation bar Side bar 2.1 Main Navigation Bar Home This is the landing page where you see your account balance 1, latest orders 2 market indices 3. placed by you, and the current U.S My Account This page gives you an overview of your account balance, portfolio, watchlist, account history. You can access each of these functions using the left side bar 1. 3

4 Portfolio The portfolio page enables you to maintain a list 1 of your stock that you purchase with SinoPac and to monitor the shares. The portfolio news 2 only show news articles relevant to the stock you have in your portfolio

5 Watchlist The watchlist provides a quick retrieval on the quotes for the stock that you are watching. It enables you to monitor up To Add/Romove Watchlist name Type in the name in the Add new watchlist 1 you want to add and click Add button. 1 After you successfully added the new watch list, you will see the watch list name 1. You may add as many watchlist as you want. There is no maximum number of watchlist you can have. There will be only allowed 30 symbols per watchlist. 5

6 1 2 To add the symbols to the watchlist, type in the symbol 2 and click Add Symbol. You will see the symbol in the new watchlist after you have added successfully. To remove the symbol, click the red x will remove the symbol from the watchlist. 6

7 Symbol: Display the ticker symbol for the stock. You can choose any of the following when you click on the symbol of the stock. a) Trade Place a trade b) Detailed Quotes Get stock quotes, chart, and company profile about the symbol. c) News Get stock quotes and news about the symbol. Company name: Displays the name of the stock. Last: Displays the last trade price. Change ($ / %): Display price and percentage change between previous closing and last trade price. Volume: Displays the volume of shares traded. If you don t know the stock symbol, you can use our advanced stock search built. For example, you know the name of the company as Toll brothers. Type only TOLL BR 1 will display all the company with similar name. The add the symbol into the watchlist, you can click on the symbol that it found. 7

8 Account history The account history shows the executed trades done in your account and balance updates. 8

9 2.1.3 Trading Clicking on Trading on the main navigation bar brings you to the order placement page Place an order Action: Select either Buy or Sell for your order Symbol: The symbol that you want to perform the order action on Quantity: Enter the quantity of the stock you want to trade (minimum 1 share). Type: Select the type of order that you want to place. You have four types. 1) Market 2) Limit 3) Stop 4) Stop Limit Price: Enter your order price Fill: Select ANY or AON as fill type. ANY = Any amount of share. AON = All or none. 9

10 In the example, we will place to a trade. Buy 100 shares INTC at limit price of Fill out the order entry page and click the Continue button. 10

11 This is the order confirmation page. In order to continue the order placement process, you will need to click on the I confirm this order 1 button in blue. 1 Once the order has been successfully placed, you will see an order reference number

12 If the order is executed, you will see your order in E status Cancel / Replace an order This feature allows you to amend an existing order. 12

13 Click on C/R will bring into the Cancel / Replace page. You can change on the quantity, type, and limit price. Make the necessary changes you would like and click the Continue botton. Then you will need to confirm the changed order and then click Send Cancel / Replace button. 13

14 Once the cancel / replace order has been successfully, you will see Cancel / Replace completed successfully Then you should see the new price 1 and shares quantity 2 you requested

15 Cancel order Clicking Orders" and check All open orders" Clicking the blank of the orders you would like to cancel. Then click Cancel selected orders If Cancel selected orders instruction has been submitted successfully, you can see the page showing List of cancelled orders" and the order status should be in Cancellation completed". 15

16 2.1.4 Order Details Type of Orders Market Order A Market Order is an order for immediate execution to buy or sell, at the best available price when the order reaches the marketplace. A market order assures execution but not price. Note: It is not possible to cancel an market order once it s been placed during trading hours. Example: Paul wants to sell 100 shares of stock ABCD. Paul is not really concerned with the price, he just wants to make sure he sells the stock NOW. On the trade page, Paul places the sell market order by clicking the sell button and entering 100 shares in the quantity field. Since this is a market order, he leaves the price blank, and selects market order. After he confirms his order, it is routed and filled at the best price available. Paul now has sold 100 shares of ABCD stock Limit Order This is an order to execute a trade at a specified price (the limit) or better. A limit order is different from a market order - a limit order guarantees a price, but does not guarantee an execution. An important characteristic of a limit order is that it is always executed at your limit price, or better. And "or better" means better for you-either lower on a buy or higher on a sell. Example: Let's say a stock you've been following closed yesterday at $50. This morning there's a favorable earnings report out, and you decide it's time to buy 100 shares. Others will be placing orders to buy the stock as well, which will likely cause the stock to open at something higher than $50. If you place a limit order to buy the stock at $55, and when it opens for trading it's available for $52, your order will be filled at $52-a better price for you than the 55 limit you entered. This is what "or better" means, and it is always assumed to be part of a limit order Stop Limit Order 16

17 With a stop limit order there are two price components specified-the activation price and the limit price. When the stock reaches the activation price, or trades through it, the order converts to a limit order and is executed at the limit (or better, if available.) There is no assurance that the limit order will be executable since a stock might very well penetrate the stop and the limit, in which case the risk of not being filled arises, just as with a regular limit order. Example: Sell Stop Limit You own 100 shares of ABCD, which is currently trading at $100 per share. You would like to sell ABCD as soon as the price drops to $95 (the activation price), but you do not want to sell for less than $92.Your order will be activated when the bid price reaches or goes below $95. At this point the order becomes a limit order to sell 100 shares of ABCD for $92 or better. Buy Stop Limit You want 100 shares of ABCD, which is currently trading at $100 per share. You would like to buy ABCD as soon as the price reaches $105 (the activation price), but you do not want to pay more than $108 per share. Your order will be activated when the ask price reaches or goes above $105. At this point the order becomes a limit order to buy 100 shares of ABCD for $108 or better Fill Types ANY ANY fill type would allow your order to be filled in different quantities. E.g. you placed and order to buy 3,000 LU shares at $1.63 LIMIT. Your order may be filled in the following to complete your order: 1,000 - at $ at $ at $ at $ at $1.63 Note: Your order may be partially filled if the market moves away from your limit price AON AON as the fill type suggests, your order will filled in its entirety or not at all. It indicates that you do not wish to complete a portion of your trade if all the shares are not available. To select ANY or AON fill type, simply click on the drop box on the field "Fill" on your place order screen and select "ANY" or "AON". Note: (1) Market and limit orders with ANY fill type takes priority over AON fill type. Your order may not be executed even though the market traded the price you indicated. 17
