Louisiana Tech University Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships The Admissions Office awards general scholarships to incoming undergraduate students, and various departments and colleges award scholarships to both incoming and continuing students. Information on scholarships available through each of the five colleges (Applied and Natural Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Science, and Liberal Arts) can be obtained by viewing their website or by contacting the individual college. Bessie Purdy Scholarship Must be an admitted freshmen with an Education (including Ag Education) or Human Ecology major. Awards made by departments after March 1, depending on funds available. Bulldog Out-of-State Fee Scholarship Incoming freshmen Category A (Students with fewer than 12 semester hours of college credit) Effective Fall 2012 Must be admitted as a non-resident of Louisiana. ACT 23 or SAT 1050 (CR+M) any test date before enrollment, and 2.5 overall GPA (on a 4.0 unweighted scale), and Have no need for remedial English and Math (You do not require remedial courses if your minimum ACT/SAT subscore is English 18/450; Math 19/460). Must remain full-time and maintain a quarterly and cumulative 2.0 GPA. *Freshmen are automatically considered with the application for admission. Bulldog Out-of-State Fee Scholarship Transfer/Enrolled Category B (Students with at least 12 semester hours of college credit) Must be admitted as a non-resident of LA with completed transcript(s) on file. 12 semester hours of college credit, and Cumulative 2.75 GPA (the way it transfers to Tech), and Have no need for remedial English and Math. (You do not require remedial courses if your minimum ACT/SAT subscore is English 18/450; Math 19/460 or have taken courses equivalent to college level English and College Algebra) Students should complete the application at least two weeks prior to the quarter. Students must remain full-time and maintain a quarterly and cumulative 2.0 GPA. *Application (PDF or on-line) is available under Bulldog Out-of-State Scholarship on the first page of general scholarship information. CenturyLink Scholarship Must be an admitted freshman with an Accounting or Engineering major. Requires: GPA: 3.0 Must live in Lincoln, Ouachita, Morehouse, Richland, or Union parishes and interview with a committee at CenturyLink. 1 award for $1,500 per year for four academic years is available. Student must remain full-time Accounting or Engineering major and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a quarterly basis. Application Deadline: Applications mailed to high school counselors Feb 1, and are due by April 1. Colvin Memorial Scholarship Must be an admitted incoming freshman (all majors). Requires: GPA: 3.2, and ACT: 24 or SAT: 1090 (CR+M) Must be a graduate of Dubach High School. 1 award for $800 for the fall quarter is available. High School Rally Scholarship Must be an admitted incoming freshman (all majors). Additional Requirements taken into Consideration: - Overall winner in selected events at the District Rally held at La Tech. - Must attend Louisiana Tech in the fall quarter following high school graduation. Award is for $300 for the fall quarter. *A letter is automatically mailed to eligible students.
Louisiana Systems Board of Supervisors Scholarship Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) from Louisiana. ACT: 31 or SAT: 1360-1390 (CR+M) Awards are for $2,500 $4,100 per year for four academic years. Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA each quarter. Updated Marbury Alumni Scholarship Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors). Requires: GPA: overall 3.0 (on a 4.0 unweighted scale) Additional Requirements taken into Consideration: At least one parent is a Tech graduate. 15 awards for $1,000 for one academic year are available. McGee Scholarship-Bienville Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish schools. Must be a graduate of a Bienville Parish high school and remain in good standing at the University. Awards made depending on funds available. Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5. McGee Scholarship-Red River Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish schools. Must be a graduate of a Red River Parish high school and remain in good standing. Awards made depending on funds available. Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
National Merit Scholarship Requires: GPA: overall 3.0 (on a 4.0 unweighted scale) Must be a National Merit Finalist and list Louisiana Tech University as first choice with the National Merit Corporation. Unlimited awards which pay tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals for four years. Choice of a bonus award (up to $5,000): laptop computer, summer study abroad, or fifth year of undergraduate or graduate study. Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 Application Deadline: Apply for admission according to National Merit deadlines. Outstanding Student Scholarship - In-State Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) from Louisiana. ACT: 23-30 or SAT: 1050-1350 (CR+M) Awards for $1,200-$3,700 per year for four academic years are available. Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end of each academic year.
