Total Award: $25,000 over 12 Months Inter-Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues Project: www.iataskforce.org Organization: www.jdc.org To support the Inter-Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues (Task Force), a coalition of 100 North American Jewish organizations, foundations, and private philanthropists. This grant will support educating the American Jewish community on majority/minority relations in Israel; increasing awareness of economic, educational, and social service weaknesses facing Palestinian-Israeli communities and, in certain cases, leveraging financial resources to provide effective solutions; and working with Israeli organizations to strengthen civil society including through developing Jewish and Palestinian-Israeli leadership. $25,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj3 - Israel Encounter Programs, Inc. Total Award: $100,000 over 12 Months www.encounterprograms.org For general support to Encounter Programs, Inc., an educational organization dedicated to providing Jewish Diaspora leaders from across the religious and political spectrum with an exposure to Palestinian life. ENCOUNTER works to: 1) cultivate informed Jewish leadership on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by bringing participants on journeys to Palestinian communities in the West Bank; 2) create North American pluralistic communities of Jewish religious leaders trained and empowered for peace-building and action within a Jewish religious framework; and 3) increase the broader Jewish community's commitment to and capacity for nuanced discourse and pursuit of peace. $95,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj3 - Israel $5,000 Collaborative Initiatives: CI - Objectives 1, 2 & 3 Collaboration/Accountability/Alliance

Faith in Public Life, Inc. Total Award: $100,000 over 12 Months (Washington, DC) www.faithinpubliclife.org For general support of Faith in Public Life (FPL) to strengthen the effectiveness, collaboration, and reach of progressive religious groups by providing movement building and communications resources to diverse faith leaders and organizations pursuing justice and the common good. This grant will support FPL to 1) design high-impact communication campaigns using traditional and new media; 2) monitor the media to identify opportunities to drive state and national policy debates as they break in the news cycle; 3) implement rapid response strategies that advance or recapture the momentum for progressive victories; and 4) train and coach religious leaders, increasing their media-savvy and building a cadre of effective spokespeople. $50,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj2 - Interfaith $50,000 Collaborative Initiatives: CI - Objectives 1, 2 & 3 Collaboration/Accountability/Alliance Institute for Jewish Spirituality, Inc. Total Award: $75,000 over 12 Months www.jewishspirituality.org For general support to strengthen the Institute for Jewish Spirituality's (IJS) impact on Jewish life through continuing and expanding its programming and activities in the larger community, increasing organizational effectiveness, further developing its think tank, and improving its capacity to support IJS alumni and participants. Through core practices of Torah study, prayer, meditation, embodied practices such as yoga, and tikkun middot (the development of ethical traits), clergy and other leaders are strengthened. In turn, they introduce communities and institutions to new forms of authentic Jewish practice, enrich everyday life with Jewish wisdom, and link the search for inner wisdom with tikkun olam (repairing the world). $75,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj1 - Jewish Social Justice

BOARD MEETING 11/12/2012 Board Meeting APPENDIX 1 - Jewish Life and Values PROGRAM GRANTS DESCRIPTIONS Jewish Funders Network Total Award: $3,600 over 12 Months www.jfunders.org To support the Jewish Funders Network, an international organization that provides leadership, programs and services to help Jewish grantmakers be more effective and strategic in their philanthropy. $3,600 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj1 - Jewish Social Justice JOIN for Justice, Inc. Total Award: $221,400 over 12 Months (Boston, MA) www.joinforjustice.org For general support to JOIN for Justice (formerly the Jewish Organizing Initiative, Inc.), to identify, recruit, train, develop, place, and mentor hundreds of top quality Jewish organizers in lay and professional positions inside and outside of the Jewish community. This grant will support JOIN for Justice to 1) build on the success of an organizational transition and expand the national network launched by its first National Summit; 2) train young Jewish adults and rabbinical students with the skill to organize and the appetite to engage Jewish communities in their work; 3) support synagogues to become more dynamic with a responsive and engaged membership invested in shared issues of concern; and 4) train leadership within Jewish organizations to learn the fundamentals and practices of organizing so that they can become more vibrant institutions and take collective action on issues of common concern. $176,400 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj1 - Jewish Social Justice $45,000 Collaborative Initiatives: CI - Objectives 1, 2 & 3 Collaboration/Accountability/Alliance

Joshua Venture Philanthropies, Inc. Total Award: $200,000 over 12 Months www.joshuaventuregroup.org For general support to Joshua Venture Group (JVG) to expand the Jewish communal landscape to be more vibrant, just, and inclusive by cultivating the leadership and management capability of talented, passionate Jewish social entrepreneurs. This grant will support Joshua Venture to provide a two-year fellowship program (the Dual Investment Program, or DIP) that provides seed funding; organizational and professional development through interaction with experts and a community of practice; recognition of and access to an expanded Jewish communal and philanthropic network; and continued support, training, and networking beyond the two-year fellowship. Additionally, this grant will help JVGroup continue to establish itself as a thought leader and model for capacity building within the Jewish community and beyond. $200,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj1 - Jewish Social Justice New Israel Fund Total Award: $350,000 over 12 Months Environment: Agent of Change in Israel Project: www.gef.org.il Organization: www.nif.org To support Environment: Agent of Change in Israel through the Green Environment Fund (GEF) to develop and advance a positive, proactive vision of Israel's future that integrates environmental sustainability and broadly shared economic prosperity. In addition to continuing its support for traditional approaches to environmental sustainability, GEF will also support NGOs to invest in building strategic coalitions and new entry points; explore alternative economic models; invest in ideas; develop new leadership; and engage the business community. $300,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj3 - Israel $50,000 Ecological Innovation: EI - Obj1 - Alliance Building

The Initiative seeks to cultivate projects in the Orthodox Jewish and Palestinian-Israeli sectors that mobilize women through leadership development, advocacy, networks, and cross-sector collaborations. IPF will also work to restore civility to the public and private discourse and debate about the future of the Middle East while building diverse national leadership. $75,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj3 - Israel Movement Strategy Center Total Award: $25,000 over 4 Months (Oakland, CA) Rebuild the Dream: Student Debt Campaign Project: www.rebuildthedream.com Organization: www.movementstrategy.org To support Rebuild the Dream's Student Debt Campaign to develop a long-term, multi-faceted strategy that will identify the most strategic targets, create compelling campaigns, and craft a communications plan to capture the media's attention. Public Religion Research Institute Total Award: $100,000 over 8 Months (Washington, DC) www.publicreligion.org For general support of the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), an initiative that specializes in research and strategic analysis at the intersection of religion, values, and public life. This grant will support PRRI to play a critical role in documenting cultural and religious realignments and helping the media and the public to gain a more accurate understanding of the American political and religious landscape. In addition to conducting several major public opinion surveys, analyzing results, and producing high quality and accessible research reports, PRRI will utilize and increase communications infrastructure to shape the narratives in the media. $25,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj2 - Interfaith $25,000 Health: HP - Obj3 - Capacity Building $50,000 Collaborative Initiatives: CI - Objectives 1, 2 & 3 Collaboration/Accountability/Alliance The Telos Group, Inc. Total Award: $50,000 over 12 Months (Washington, DC) www.telosgroup.org For general support to The Telos Group, Inc. (formerly The Kairos Project), to work with American faith communities -- especially Evangelicals -- to catalyze a mainstream American movement to shift both American civil society and foreign policy in ways that enable Israelis and Palestinians to achieve a viable two-state solution. This grant will support Telos to expand and broaden its current work through 1) pilgrimages to the Holy Land for US leaders in religion, business, and government; 2) speaking tours by Israeli and Palestinian stakeholders; 3) a large-scale national conference, among other community engagement projects; 4) collaboration with partners such as the Aspen Institute and Just Vision; and 5) institutional growth including staff, board, financial resource, and physical infrastructure development. $50,000 Jewish Life and Values: JLV - Obj3 - Israel
