As part of our ongoing training program for all personnel on our projects, we provide regular training on human rights and international law, including the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. We can confirm our steadfast support of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and our compliance with international law, which underpins our approach to good industry practice. Leading the way on self-regulation The ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 certification builds on the Montreux Document and the ICoC to provide requirements and guidance for a management system with auditable criteria for the quality of private security company operations. This is consistent with respect for human rights, legal obligations and good practices related to operations of private security service provider companies in conditions where governance and the rule of law have been undermined by conflict or disaster. GardaWorld is the first private security company to achieve a global certification to PSC.1-2012. As a company, we are wholly committed to the application of effective standards to this industry. By managing the risks to our clients through processes compliant with PSC.1-2012, we will create a universal sense of reassurance that enables business to continue despite inherent instability in complex environments. We understand that we are fully responsible to those who rely on us, and on whom we rely, to create and protect an environment where they can thrive and perform in confidence and safety. The PSC.1-2012 certification mandates strict quality control processes. Middle East A focus on local staff and training Kurdistan first Our Kurdistan business has been operating continually since it was established in December 2003. It was the first international private security company in Kurdistan by several years. We pioneered the approach of using host nation (local national) staff as the core of our service delivery. This approach was followed by the industry across the whole of Kurdistan and indeed across Iraq. In one form or another, we supply services on at least one-third of the oil blocks in Kurdistan. Furthermore, through our provision of mobile security to leading oil service companies, we provide mobile security to almost every single block in Kurdistan. We have always embraced proactive collaboration with the Kurdish security forces and have been working with the Peshmerga on remote fields since 2005. We have continued this with our support of the Oil Field Protection Force (OPF) and liaison with the Ministry of Natural Resources. We are proud of our history of premium security services and believe our reputation is unmatched. We are confident that no other company will provide our clients with the level of service and quality we can offer to help make their operations in Kurdistan as successful as possible. We currently employ more than 600 vetted and trained local staff from all the main religious groups and tribes to work with our multilingual expat leadership team. Over the past 11 years, we have trained and developed more than 5,000 local staff. This has recently been boosted by our Train the Trainers program in Erbil, where we are providing certification in our security management training, which is accredited by the UK s City & Guilds training institution. Relationships built over time We are fully licensed with the Kurdistan Regional Government. Our excellent relations with senior Kurdish officials the Kurdistan Regional Government, local law enforcement, diplomatic missions, military commands and regional and tribal factions support and facilitate our operations. Unrivaled community relations capabilities As part of our security offering to our clients, we provide a contracted medical service capability, jointly to support project personnel and support communities in isolated areas. When not employed in reactive medical situations, our medics support communityfocused activities for several clients, predominantly within the oil & gas sector in Kurdistan. Over the years, this has enabled us to build up a network of contacts within rural local communities on the active oil blocks. These networks now stretch back many years and are seen as a consistent feature through a time when there have been great changes in Kurdistan. It is impossible to over-emphasize the importance of the goodwill generated by this consistent presence, coupled with the provision of a valued service to the local communities. Kurdistan Region of Iraq In 2013 we celebrated our 10th year in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Today, while we remain the most experienced provider of security services to the oil & gas industry in the region, we also support diplomatic missions and major telecoms and infrastructure providers. GardaWorld is the only international security company with offices in both Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. This gives a level of mutual support and redundancy capability that is unrivaled. With identical operations rooms in both cities, we have the ability to service clients throughout Kurdistan. Middle East 03 Genel Energy, Taq Taq concession, Erbil 04 GardaWorld mobile security task, Erbil My recent trip from Erbil to Suli and back was handled entirely by your local Kurdish staff. The team leader was very professional and knowledgeable (and his English was excellent). He was highly effective in smoothing my visits to the three recommended hotels and obtaining the cooperation of staff there for a good look around and photographs. The team at the Suli office gave me a very good briefing and then a tour of the city pertaining to our related venues. Security manager, global engineering firm I would like to thank GardaWorld and its outstanding personnel for a job well done. We would be happy to work alongside these men again. Without them, the survey would not have been possible. Project manager, US oil exploration company I just wanted to compliment you on the excellent work your team is doing down here. They look good, act professionally and are very enthusiastic about their work. But I think that, most of all, they are always prepared to walk the extra mile. It s a pleasure to work with them. Mines and UXO company for the oil & gas industry Local expertise 700+ local national staff working across the region Safety at our core 500,000km+ of safe driving for a single client in the region during 2013 Case study Providing support to Genel Energy since 2005 We provide a wide range of security services for Anglo- Turkish oil company Genel Energy throughout Kurdistan. Genel has long been the market leader in Kurdish oil exploration, operating the largest-producing field in the region as well as several other producing fields and exploration blocks. Taq Taq We are the sole private security provider at Genel s largest project in Kurdistan and the largest working field in the region, the Taq Taq oil field to the east of Erbil. Since December 2005 we have been providing a full suite of security services at the Taq Taq project, from security management, consultancy and oversight to journey management, local liaison and access control. After the first well was spudded, we began providing perimeter security and access control, drill and rig-site security, roving patrols throughout the site, a dedicated medical team and clinic and a permanent onsite expat management team. Over the past several years, the project has evolved from a small fly camp of 30 personnel during the initial seismic phase, into a large-scale oil production facility consisting of 22 wells with a central processing facility and tanker-loading station. The total number of project personnel has passed 500 on several occasions during the project s history, and the GardaWorld security team currently consists of around 200 security professionals. Developing local staff One of our most crucial successes on the Taq Taq project has been the expansion of our local personnel, with the vast majority of project staff originating from the local area. At Taq Taq and across all of our operating regions, we have found that the level of community integration that this approach offers can be invaluable to the security of a project. Not only does it mitigate against potential disputes with the local population, but it also serves as an unparalleled source of local intelligence. In addition to our growing number of local personnel, we liaise closely with local law enforcement and emergency services, various civil authorities and, of course, the Kurdistan Regional Government and security forces. Corporate social responsibility Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is of the utmost importance to both Genel Energy and GardaWorld. As part of our turnkey security solutions, the project s dedicated medical teams provide much-needed medical services to the local community, free of charge. Every week our expat medics accompanied by a local doctor travel to remote villages around the Taq Taq area to conduct primary-care medical treatment and provide crucial supplies. This medical and CSR capability is currently unmatched by any other security provider or organization in the region and offers our client significantly improved relations with the local rural community. 03 GardaWorld s team provided me with a safe and comfortable trip on my first trip to Kurdistan. Throughout, not only did they provide security but I highly recommend their local knowledge and information that made my work run in a smoother fashion. I cannot thank them enough for their work and insight and understanding of my work. Middle East Relationships built over time We maintain excellent relations with key institutions in Baghdad, various diplomatic missions, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Iraqi government, law enforcement agencies and the Iraqi Army and Ministry of Oil. We are the first private security company in Iraq to achieve a 100% compliance rating from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, which oversees all aspects of private security companies operating in the country. Risk management at the core of our operations We manage our work in Baghdad through a permanent full-time operations center that has the ability to monitor countrywide communications and vehicle tracking devices linked to the Baghdad Operations Command. Through this center we have maintained comprehensive incident databases that support our risk-mapping with detailed trend and statistical information. Within the International Zone we maintain a dedicated risk management team that provides up-to-the-minute threat-monitoring information, reports and client briefings. Central Iraq We have operated in Baghdad since 2003 as a key provider of security and risk management services to the diplomatic sector, including providing expatriate Protective Security Detail (PSD) services for the British Embassy. Our operations span the Central Iraq region from the south of Kirkuk to the north of Naziryah. 01 01 GardaWorld operations room, Baghdad 02 GardaWorld dog handler, Baghdad Our operational HQ in Baghdad is housed in a selfsufficient and secure compound in the International Zone. Middle East Before I leave the post tomorrow, I want to thank all of you basically for keeping me safe for the past nine months! I am well aware of the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes for Red Zone moves. We are all fortunate that we can sleep soundly having the Gurkhas on duty here. [Your team s] constant good cheer also adds greatly to the quality of life on the compound. Not only have I been hugely impressed by their professionalism, but I ve also greatly enjoyed their company, and regard many whom I ve got to know as good friends. It has been a privilege working with you all. Project manager, British Embassy, Baghdad 2,895,984 work exposure hours in 2013 zero lost-time incidents, reporting period 2012/2013 55,000+ tasks completed to date 500+ staff in Baghdad I had a wonderful experience during my stay in Baghdad Green Zone. Security-wise, I was amazed by the professionalism of your security team inside and outside the zone. Regarding the accommodation, it was also perfect and the team (chef and housekeepers) were professional. Engineer, global telecoms company 01 + 02 GardaWorld Gurkha guard on duty, British Embassy, Baghdad Case study The UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in Iraq In July 2006, GardaWorld assumed responsibility for the FCO s static security services in Iraq, initially across four locations two in Baghdad, and one each in Erbil and Basra then moving to one location as the FCO consolidated its operations. In January 2010, we were awarded a two-year contract for the mobile security component, protecting diplomatic staff as they travel around the country, again taking in Basra and Erbil, and becoming the sole commercial provider of security services to the FCO in Iraq. As a measure of our success, in March 2012 the FCO awarded GardaWorld the contract to also provide the mobile security detail for the British Ambassador and the Defence Attaché a sensitive role that until this time had been carried out by the British Royal Military Police. This was the first time a commercial entity had managed the Ambassador s security detail in Iraq. Static security With a constant flow of people in and out of the UK FCO site in Baghdad s International Zone, our security staff of around 150 former British and Indian Army Gurkhas provide point security, entry control, explosive detection dogs and search capabilities. To ensure cultural sensitivity and improved communication skills, the team includes a number of Arabic-speaking personnel. Every member of our team has gone through a rigorous interview and screening process that tests their health, language and security skills. This partnership has grown as the FCO s role has grown, and now takes responsibility for a number of international organizations as well as the FCO: the European Union, the World Bank and the Canadian and Danish embassies all have staff working in the complex who are protected by GardaWorld. Mobile security Our mobile security operation is carried out by around 100 in-country staff, all with military or security backgrounds, from NATO countries. The Armed Protection Teams (APTs) are made up of six men across three vehicles, with capacity to move two to four clients per team. Backing up the APTs are communications experts, administrators and resource and logistics managers, as well as local staff acting as venue assessors and providing operational oversight and early warning to the mobile teams. Given the nature of our clients business (we also work in Baghdad with the European Union), we are licensed to make use of Electronic Counter Measures, which further improve the security of our operations. The project requires close coordination not only with the FCO but also with FCO contractor personnel, Iraqi local, regional and central government, and Iraqi security forces. This role is conducted by our Regional Director and our Operations Manager, who oversee all of our Iraq operations. Continuous training Our Baghdad operations, both static and mobile, require the very best of our staff. To ensure that they are always prepared, we conduct continuation training in-country. This involves fitness tests, dry drills practice, closeprotection training and crossover scenarios. We also train staff to understand what they can do and recognize what they can t do. GardaWorld was the first private security company to achieve a 100% compliance rating from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, an achievement that we are proud of and a standard which we intend to maintain. We also make great efforts to ensure that our clients personnel are prepared for the unexpected. We provide HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) for all staff, both before and during their time in-country, as well as emergency medical and communications training. The aim is that if the unexpected does happen, every member of the mobile team understands and can carry out their role. 01 02 28 GardaWorld International Protective Services GardaWorld International Protective Services 29

We currently have more than 1,000 staff providing security services to the defense and infrastructure sectors, which are securing and rebuilding Afghanistan. I am just back from Herat. I wanted to make sure that I adequately complimented your security team truly professional. I ll definitely be passing on my recommendations that we continue to use GardaWorld to my home office in DC. Senior consultant, Big Four consulting firm I wanted to pass along our appreciation for what your team did for our projects during this latest insurgent attack. We were kept informed in a timely manner, which was a great help when we were all wondering what was happening on the ground and how it affected the personnel of our two projects. More importantly, incidents like these cement in our minds the necessity of having highly capable security professionals embedded with us in these unstable environments. It is a comfort to know that we have a firstrate team on the ground ready to respond when needed. Director, international development consultancy Transition in partnership Since obtaining our Risk Management Company (RMC) license in March 2012, we have supported over 20 RMC projects in Kabul and other provinces. For all of our RMC projects, we provide daily consulting services to our clients and oversight, mentoring and training to the Afghan Public Protection Force (APPF) guard force, which is the Ministry of Interior entity created in March 2012. We are proud that our Afghanistan team has experienced zero incidents on any of our RMC projects. Oversight of the APPF begins immediately after contract award, during the ramp-up phase of the project, and the RMC team continues its mentorship and training of the APPF guard force for the duration of the project. Oversight of the APPF is conducted by the RMC team on a daily basis. Clients are not responsible for managing any of the guard force. The APPF guard force carries out daily static guard, perimeter security, roving patrol and interdiction duties, such as entry/ egress control, and armed mobile security support. The RMC team institutes a daily schedule with the APPF chain of command to fill all positions according to requirements and ensure compliance with shift rotations, adherence to security procedures, completion of training requirements, and monitoring of behavior to identify any potential threats to the project. As an RMC we are tasked with the continuous development and training of the APPF, which we undertake through mentorship and scheduled training exercises throughout an RMC contract. We take this very seriously, as increased professionalism of the APPF allows our personnel to do their jobs better. More importantly, professional development of those under our mentorship creates a sense of community and understanding that benefits both the RMC and the client. Our capabilities in Afghanistan are enhanced by our on-theground operational subsidiary Afghan First World Logistics (AFWL), which provides logistics services, often in support of our RMC operations throughout the country. 36 GardaWorld International Protective Services GardaWorld International Protective Services 37

Corporate social responsibility Our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) is applied to everything we do and everywhere we operate. It is a key value, an integral part of our business and a company-wide commitment that is core to the way we work. Since our company s inception, we have endeavored to be a role model for care and responsibility within the community by supporting initiatives and projects that promote the health and wellbeing of the communities in which we operate. Delivering medical relief to rural communities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Over the past 11 years we have conducted 1,000+ medical outreach visits throughout the region as part of our security offering. We provide a contracted medical service capability to project personnel and support communities in isolated areas. Every week our expat medics accompanied by a local doctor travel to remote villages to conduct primary care medical treatment and provide supplies. If serious conditions are diagnosed, the patients are transported by the GardaWorld ambulance to the nearest city for further treatment. Supporting children in Kabul, Afghanistan We are proud to support the Shamsa Children s Village in Kabul. Established in 2012, the village aims to protect and care for orphaned or abandoned children and vulnerable women in a permanent family environment. The village aims to give children as normal a home life as possible and currently has 27 children looked after by a staff of 19 caregivers. Each child becomes part of a permanent family unit with an adoptive mother and up to eight brothers and sisters of varying ages. Each family has a small private living area at the village, designed to shelter and support large families with many children. Many of the children have experienced mental or physical trauma. We are supporting the project with funding that is used to pay staff salaries, daily living expenses of food, clothing and stationery, plus maintenance costs for the site. Essential health training for women in Baghdad, in partnership with the AMAR Foundation In February 2013, GardaWorld committed funding for six women health volunteers (WHVs) based in Baghdad, in partnership with the AMAR Foundation. After the success of the first year, we increased our funding in early 2014 to support an additional four volunteers. The WHV concept was developed by the World Health Organization and since 2003 has been implemented by AMAR to great effect within communities across Iraq. Our six female volunteers have been recruited locally; this serves to empower the women as they take an active and visible role in promoting the health of their communities. The volunteers conduct home visits in the community, delivering basic but essential health training and support directly to families. The WHV program is specifically targeted at women and children, who often face real difficulty accessing fixed health facilities. Providing local medical facilities in Basra, Southern Iraq, in partnership with the AMAR Foundation Across Iraq, many rural and isolated communities are deprived of even basic health services because fixed primary health facilities are located considerable distances away. Limited access to health information leaves people with little understanding of health, disease prevention and the public health services available. Many of the existing health facilities in Basra have not changed in more than 20 years, leaving the local population with uncertainty about the services available. In February 2013, we established a new rural clinic in Karmat Ali, Basra, in partnership with the AMAR Foundation. The Abu-Sakher Clinic serves an average population of 4,000 6,000 people and its staff are fully integrated into the Ministry of Health system. Sponsorship of an archaeological dig outside Erbil Through our sponsorship of an archaeological dig outside Erbil in Kurdistan, GardaWorld hopes to play a small part in rediscovering the rich history of the region. The project is directed by Professor Glenn Schwartz of Johns Hopkins University in the US and is excavating around the site of Kurd Qaburstan a large mound 25km south-west of Erbil. It is thought that the site corresponds to the ancient city of Qabra, a forgotten kingdom that flourished in about 2000 1600 BC. The research includes a geophysical survey, an analysis of satellite imagery, an intensive surface survey and excavation. The clinic is manned by a doctor, nurses and administrative support. The clinic is also a base for 20 women health volunteers (WHVs), who conduct home visits in the community. The WHVs deliver health education and health advice directly into the family unit, and strengthen community links with and trust in the government s health system.
