VIDEO CONFERENCE TRAINING Using the Tandberg Video Conferencing system is very similar to using a Smart Classroom. As you will see the interface is the same as a Smart Classroom. To begin, press the touchpanel to wake it up to get to the screen below. Then press the screen again to go to the main source page. 1

Press the system on button to turn on the projector and lower screen. Most video conference rooms are equipped with one or two additional monitors for the instructor to view while presenting. If you desire, you can turn on those monitors from the main source page. System On Instructor s Monitor After the system is on and an image is being projected on the screen, press the Tandberg Video Conference button on the source page. This will send you to the Tandberg Control page. When you are on the Tandberg page press Send to Screen. This will send the video conference signal to the screen and monitor. If there no image present, press one of the two camera buttons which are labeled either Student/Room cam or Instructor/Podium cam and this will project the camera view selected. 2

Send to Screen Camera Buttons This page will control and operate everything you need for the conference. If the conference has been pre-arranged for you, then the system will make the necessary connections. When you hear the incoming call sound, just accept the call. Please don t be overwhelmed by all buttons. You only need to use a few of them to have a successful conference. 3

The main buttons needed for the conference are: 1. Mic Mute this will turn off the microphone in your room only so that other sites will not be able to hear you. This needs to be used while the other sites are speaking. 2. Zoom Up /Down This is use for the camera control. 3. Direction arrows are used for camera control pan and tilt. 4. PIP Move this button acts as a picture-in-picture. It will show the view of your camera in one small segment of your screen. 5. Selfview This button will toggle between your camera view and the remote site. It is recommended to show the remote site on your screen and leave your camera view as a picture in picture. 6. Red volume these buttons control the room volume through the speakers in the ceiling. This is where you will hear other sites that are connected. 7. Gray volume these buttons control the Tandberg outgoing volume from your microphone. The maximum level is 15 and will display at the top of the projection screen. 8. Student/Room Cam this camera will show the entire room. 9. Instructor/Podium Cam this camera will show the instructor s area. 4 5 7 2 6 8 1 9 3 4

If your conference contains material that needs to be seen by the remote sites, buttons are provided to send the data. Any media that is being displayed in the room will be sent to the remote sites. The buttons in the lower left corner of the touchpanel provide this feature. Press the button you desire and that signal will be broadcasted to all the sites participating. The buttons are to display the: Student/Room camera, Instructor/Podium camera, document camera, the PC, MAC (if one is installed), laptop, VCR or DVD. Pressing the PC as a source, for example, will allow all remote sites connected to see your PC. This is how a PowerPoint presentation can be done on your end for other sites to view. Source buttons 5

If you want to connect with only one campus without scheduling a conference, make sure the rooms are available. After the system is on, press the directory button on the Tandberg page. Using the up/down arrows, select the campus you wish to connect to and press the green connect button. The remote site will have to accept the call and you will be ready to begin your conference. CAMPUS TO CAMPUS BUTTONS To end your conference, press the red disconnect button NOTE: All of the Tandberg systems have been configured to require all incoming calls to be accepted by the participants. This will prevent anyone from calling in unannounced. 6

After the conference is over and the call has been disconnected, press the return to source page and press the system off button then the continue system off button. 7
