Tailored research, due diligence and political intelligence

About GamblingCompliance Research Services GamblingCompliance is a full service provider of legal, regulatory, political and business insight for the global gambling industry. Through GamblingCompliance Research Services (GCRS) we help operators, investors and governments confront regulatory and public policy challenges at state, national and international levels and develop high-level, holistic views of emerging gaming markets worldwide. GCRS offers tailored research reports including legislative tracking and detailed, forward-looking analytical commentary combined with productspecific data forecasts. Based in London, Washington, D.C., California, Tokyo and Taipei, we offer existing market participants and investors easily accessible and up-to-date information on market realities, and a reliable and independent listening post to monitor legislative developments at local level. Tracking regulatory change across the global gambling industry is our core business, which means we can provide you with immediate access to an independent, cost effective and skilled team to deliver tailored research reports. Commissioned research work from GCRS could help you: l Track gambling legislation and regulation across jurisdictions and anticipate and respond to legislative developments, for example internet gambling legislation across US states or through the newly regulating markets of Eastern Europe and Asia. l Compare key facets of legislation and regulation across jurisdictions. l Grasp the political fundamentals driving legislative movements. l Monitor competitor lobbying spend. l Gauge the size and growth trajectory of gambling markets via product-specific data forecasts.

Our Projects European Government - Modernisation of Games of Chance A major northern European government is currently updating its 50-year old gambling legislation through a comprehensive review of land-based and online regulations while seeking to privatise its casino monopoly for the operation of land-based casinos via a sale and RFP process. Ahead of the issuance of a limited number of new casino licenses in 2017, the ministry with competence for the gambling sector engaged GamblingCompliance to help with their policy development through a detailed survey of land-based and online gambling regulations across selected European and North American jurisdictions. Asia Lottery Market - Market Regulatory Map A licensed Australian lottery company preparing for a stock market float sought a full regulatory risk assessment from Gambling Compliance ahead of expansion beyond national borders. GamblingCompliance Research Services evaluated the opportunities presented by the Asian betting markets in a global context, mapped the regulatory landscape in key lottery markets, and assessed the compliance and marketing issues the company would face in the Asian region. European Commission - Study on the Role of the Regulators in Online Gambling After an open tender process began in September 2013, the European Commission, DG Internal Market & Services, engaged GamblingCompliance and PwC EU Services to conduct a study for the European Commission on the role of regulators for online gambling with regard to authorisation, supervision and enforcement. The main study objectives are to provide a comprehensive description of the national rules and practices for the authorisation and licensing of online gambling operators, and a survey of the enforcement of national rules against unauthorised online gambling services. The study, which will be delivered in final form in October 2014, will draw conclusions and identify commonalities and good practices in these areas and the potential for administrative cooperation. American Gaming Association - Casino Regulation Study In 2014, the American Gaming Association commissioned Gambling Compliance to produce a comprehensive state-by-state analysis of the statutes and regulations affecting commercial casinos in the United States. The American Gaming Association represents the interests of land-based, riverboat, dockside and racetrack casinos, which together contribute more than $8.6bn in direct gaming tax revenues and employ nearly 336,000 people. The co-branded report will provide a vital reference point on casino regulation for casino operators, as well as for policymakers and industry stakeholders. The AGA project builds on the success of the ongoing collaboration between Gambling Compliance and the European Casino Association which, in 2013 created, for the first time, a farreaching survey of the substantial economic and social contributions made by Europe s land-based casino operators, and the significant legislative challenges they face. The ECA Casino Industry Report was conceived as a document that would support the ECA in its advocacy efforts as it seeks to foster a well-controlled and regulated gaming environment in Europe s land-based gaming markets, and contains insight into issues including taxation, social responsibility measures and online licensing. The result has helped srengthened the ECA s role in proactively shaping policy and regulations.
