02 4 GETTING TO THE OFFICE BY ROAD A collector road, adjacent and parallel to the N1 provides direct access from the freeway into the heart of Century City. Alternative road access into the site is available from the Bosmansdam Road to the North Sable Road (which also links to the N1 freeway) to the South and Ratanga Road to the West. In Addition, Century City is located in close proximity to both the N7 and M5 arterial roads putting it in easy access to both the West. BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT Century City is well serviced by the various modes of public transport. A primary public transport interchange operates off Ratanga Road and a second off Century Avenue. Both have designated lanes for Golden Arrow busses, minibus taxis and the Century City MyCiti busses and a terminus building with public toilets, waiting areas, public telephones, a ticket office and vending machines. Commuter busses and minibus taxis are not permitted to the Century City road network and their operations are restricted to the transport interchanges. MyCiTi BUS SERVICE Replacing the Century City Internal Shuttle Bus as of 1 November, the MyCiTi bus will follow a similar route to the Century City Shuttle bus, and stops are located within walking distance of all E-Parking sites. Cash is not accepted on MyCiTi buses. All over users over the age of four must have their on my connect card with money loaded to travel. Cards cost R 25.00 each. Fares are calculated on the distance you travel and are deducted from your card. When you board a MyCiTi bus, you must tap in by holding your myconnect card against the validator to start your journey, and tap out by doing the same when you get off. Do this correctly to avoid a penalty fare. There are 100 cents to a rand. Notes are in R200, R100, R50, R20, R10 and coins in R5, R2, R1, 50c, 20c, 10c and 5c. Foreign currency can be exchanged at any commercial bank, American Express, Thomas Cook, Rennies or Diners Clubs office or Bureau de exchange which can be found at airports and most large centres. Due to poverty in certain areas crime and theft can be a problem.
