WELCOME TO CISCO CLOUD SERVICES Cisco Cloud Services is a public cloud infrastructure offering from Telstra which includes a range of compute, storage and network services. As our technology partner, Cisco delivers the infrastructure services, while Telstra provides support, management tools and billing for all Cisco Cloud Services. All Cisco Cloud Services are delivered from within a Telstra owned and operated data centre, where we manage the security and performance of your service. To start using Cisco Cloud Services, you ll need to provide an Australian Business Number (ABN) or be an existing Australian Telstra account holder. Once your company has started using Cisco Cloud Services, the ability to request specific Cisco resources in this pricing guide may be limited by quotas and an individual s user role. Cisco Cloud Services can be used in conjunction with other cloud infrastructure Telstra provides. Our website shows the range of cloud services available. We have separate pricing guides available for each of our infrastructure services. This guide s pricing may change from time to time; we will advise existing customers when a pricing change occurs. All prices in this guide are in Australian dollars and exclusive of GST. Any applicable GST will be added to the price and appear on your Telstra bill. Telstra s common network services that are compatible with Cisco Cloud Services are also listed in this guide. Note that fees, specifications and delivery times for these network services can vary depending on the infrastructure platform they are used with. CISCO CLOUD SERVICES VIRTUAL MACHINE INSTANCES Choose from any of the flavors listed in this guide when creating a Cisco virtual machine (VM) instance. A minimum of one hour s usage applies to each VM instance created. Operating systems licensed by us are charged separately. Cisco virtual machines can be deployed in a choice of configurations described as flavors. Each flavor includes a combination of vcpu, RAM and storage. What types of flavors are available? The proportions of vcpu, RAM and storage capacity vary between flavor types. Flavors are categorised to suit different needs. Micro General purpose (GP) Compute optimised (CO) Memory optimised (MO) Storage optimised (SO) How are virtual machine instances charged? Fees are calculated on an hourly basis and billed monthly. Chargeable usage increases in one hour increments. Charging for a virtual machine continues for as long as they exist. Simply pay as you go, with no minimum contract period. What is SSD storage? Storage optimised (SO) flavors include two disks, both in solid-state (SSD) format. SSD disks generally offer higher performance and availability than standard disk storage. OPERATING SYSTEMS You can choose from a range of virtual machine operating systems that we license for you. A minimum monthly fee of one hour s usage per VM applies to any operating systems installed by us. It s your responsibility to manage configuration and ongoing updates of operating systems, and obtain technical support directly from the vendor. The fee is based on the vcpu configuration of the VM and the type of operating system (Microsoft, Red Hat or open source) licensed by Telstra, per VM, per hour (or part thereof). For example, a VM with 4 vcpus running Windows Server 2012 provisioned for 10 hours over a billing month, will incur a charge of $3.00. Can you install your own operating system? On Cisco VMs you can choose to install any BYO operating system image yourself. ADDITIONAL STORAGE You can add extra storage at any time in either volume or object format. For volume storage, usage is based on the GB capacity of the storage provided, irrespective of how much is used. For input / output operations packs, I/O operations are charged in blocks of 1 million operations (or part thereof). With object storage, usage is based on the total GB size of data stored. For request packs, requests are charged per 1,000 requests (or part thereof). Object storage request packs include any of the following: PUT, LIST, GET, COPY, CREATE, DELETE. A minimum fee of one hour s usage applies to any storage operating during the billing month. Volume storage must be attached to a single virtual machine, and can t be shared amongst multiple virtual machines. A storage disk and any data it contains will be deleted immediately if you remove the virtual machine the storage is attached to. * This resource will be provided free of charge for an initial period. We will advise Cisco Cloud Services customers in advance of charges commencing for this resource. SNAPSHOTS A snapshot is a point-in-time copy of a compute instance, storage or image, used to back up data or create additional virtual machines. The monthly fee is based on the amount of snapshot data stored. Snapshot data has no expiry and will accrue usage fees until you remove it from storage. STORAGE TYPE Snapshot data storage consumed amount MONTHLY FEE (PLUS GST) $0.14 per GB What is object storage? Object storage is best suited for storing unstructured data, files and media. Unlike volume storage, object storage doesn t allow you to update or modify stored data however data can be removed and replaced. How is storage charged? For all storage types, including snapshot storage, the monthly fee per GB is converted to an hourly charge based on the average number of hours (730 hours) in a monthly billing period. NETWORK CONNECTIONS AND RESOURCES Connection to the internet and connection to an existing Telstra Next IP network is available with every Cisco Cloud Services project, at no cost. Only network traffic out of your Cisco projects is charged. All network traffic transferred into your Cisco projects is free. How is internet and Telstra Next IP network traffic charged? Internet and Telstra Next IP network traffic is charged per GB, based on the total volume of data transferred out from all your Cisco projects during a billing month. There is no charge for traffic transferred into your projects. How is network resource traffic charged? There is no additional charge for traffic passing through firewalls or routers in your Cisco network. Traffic passing through a load balancer (both in and out of your Cisco projects) is charged per GB, per month. How is IP addressing charged? Public (floating) and private IP addresses are charged per hour, per address. Floating IP addresses are assigned from a shared pool to Cisco virtual machines and other network resources.
