3.2 DIRECT INJECTION COMMON RAIL INTERCOOLED DIESEL TURBO ENGINE Super Select 4WD SUPER SELECT 4WD Super Select 4WD allows drivers to move from 2H to 4H on the fly. Drive to the front wheels occurs through a viscous coupling unit (VCU) in the centre differential. 4HLc by-passes the VCU, locking the front and rear wheels into 4WD. 4LLc is a low ratio option that gives the driver the ability to produce higher revs at lower speeds, this mode can only be selected when the vehicle is completely stationary. 5-speed automatic with INVECS II Smart Logic SPORTS MODE AUTOMATIC The INVECS II Smart Logic transmission system works through the on-board computer that learns and adapts to each driver s preferences by monitoring engine and foot-braking data. Operating in second gear, it enables you to stop on a steep slope without the risk of your Pajero rolling backwards or stalling. All Pajero models are equipped with Mitsubishi s rallydeveloped MATT (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology). MATT is an integrated package of systems centred on the on-board computer with sensors that monitor the constant changes in your vehicle s wheel speeds, lateral and longitudinal G forces and yaw rates. Processing this data it then matches it to the driver s intention via the steering wheel and throttle sensors to provide optimum driving performance and driver confidence. NCE active traction control (atc) with engine brake assist control (ebac) ATC is an intelligent system that automatically controls engine output so that driving wheels are prevented from spinning. When it senses loss of traction in an independent wheel it automatically applies braking force to that wheel while sending extra power to other wheels with traction to keep you moving.
