Overview The purpose of this configuration guide is to describe the steps needed to configure the FortiVoice PBX for proper operation with Optimum Business SIP Trunking. Prerequisites Please follow the instructions in the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Set-up Guide. The Set-up Guide was left by the Optimum Business technician at installation. If you do not have the Set-up Guide, go to optimumbusiness.com/sip to download a copy. This configuration guide provides the configuration steps for both PBX registration and static or non-registration modes of operation. PBX Information Manufacturer: Model: Fortinet Software Version: 7.31 Does the PBX send SIP Registration messages (Yes/No)? FortiVoice 040S FortiVoice Configuration The steps below describe the basic configuration required to enable the FortiVoice IP-PBX to use a Optimum Business SIP Trunking for inbound and outbound calling. Please refer to the FortiVoice documentation to configure other advanced PBX features. The configuration described here assumes that the PBX is already configured and operational with station side phones using assigned extensions or DIDs. This configuration is based on FortiVoice 040S. Global Settings Both the FortiVoice PBX and the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Adaptor (Edgemarc) were placed in network 10.10.155.0/24 where the PBX was 10.10.155.11 and the Optimum SIP Trunk Adaptor (Edgemarc) was 10.10.155.1. Device access requires the FortiVoice Management Software that once installed can be used to configure device settings. To begin, configure a system name and a password to access the system next to Administration. To configure the IP address information, navigate from the Configuration Menu to Global Settings4IP Configuration4System IP Settings. Select Use configured IP and DNS information and enter the address of the PBX next to Unit 1 IP address then the address of the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Adaptor next to Default gateway. Under Public IP Address select Static public IP address then simply enter the address of PBX next to Current public IP address. 4 V 1 4

Now a User Privilege Profile needs to be created and activated for the users. Navigate to User Privileges and click a Profile ID row under Name then check Activate User Privileges. Give a name to the Profile next to Name. Under Outgoing Access check Hunt Group Access 9 and under Feature Access select desired system features for the users. Finally navigate to Lines and Greetings4Line Hunt Groups and click the Hunt Group ID field of 9 under Name. If Inband gets negotiated, then that is what will be sent. In addition tone-duration modification is not an option on the PBX device yet may be changed through phones. The recommended setting is 600ms. Dial Plan For Dial Plan, navigate to Global Settings4User Privileges and activate the User Privileges profile for the users from above.
