Programme Overview SCOPE AND RECIPIENTS The workshop will focus on the current status and trends regarding biological treatment of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in Europe. Appropriate management of the organic fraction of waste is becoming one of the principle measures needed to respect EU policy and international protocols (GHGs' emission control). The workshop will assess both aerobic and anaerobic processes of biological treatment. The meeting is aimed at participants from both the public and private sectors involved in the management of solid waste, to offer a broad input to the discussion on the daily and future targets posed by the continental environmental policy. Transports & Accommodations Torino Incontra Centro Congressi Via Nino Costa 8 10123 TORINO Torino Incontra Centro Congressi can easily be reached by a partially covered walk from "Porta Nuova" Railway Station. It takes around 10 minutes walk FROM TURIN AIRPORT "Porta Nuova" Railway Station About 15 km from central Turin, it has direct motorway access to the city. By bus: Departures every 30-45 minutes from 6:10 to midnight (weekdays), just outside the Air Terminal Building (http://www.aeroportoditorino.it/en/passeggeri_en/trasporti_en/bus_en.html). In about a 40-minute drive it arrives at "Porta Nuova" Railway Station. FROM MILAN MALPENSA AIRPORT By bus and train: Every 30 minutes (from 6:35 to 23:35) there is a bus to Milano Centrale Railway Station; the trip takes about one hour. From there, you can take a train to "Torino Porta Nuova" Railway Station.
