PROJECT TO INTRODUCE A REGIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM FOR UNIVERSITIES IN EAST AFRICA QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATORS TRAINING COURSE FOR COHORT 3 TRAINING COURSE PART II, 03 07 DECEMBER 2012 DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA PROGRAMME The Course The training course is part of the collaborative project in capacity building between the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD), German Rectors Conference (HRK), and the National Commissions and Councils for Higher Education in the Partner Stats of the East African Community (EAC), namely Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. The project aims to introduce a regional quality assurance system for universities in East Africa. The training course will involve a series of workshops for the participants who will be expected later to be deployed as quality assurance coordinators in their universities. Part II in the series of workshops will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania during 3rd 7 th December 2012. The training sessions will focus on: Feedback on-going programme Self Assessment Reports from participating institutions; Data collection and analysis related to programme self assessment; Involvement of stakeholders in Self Assessment process; How to write a good Self Assessment Report; Team dynamics and support; and Introduction to External Peer Review.

Participants They will include Quality Assurance Coordinators (QAC) and Chairpersons of Self Assessment Team from selected IUCEA member universities participating in Cohort -3 of this initiative. Resource Persons These will constitute experts drawn from IUCEA member universities, commissions and councils for higher education in the Partner States, and those to be commissioned by DAAD and HRK.
