Retrieving Chromatographic Data from the Database Using ChemStore and Security Pack Software G2181BA & G2183AA, Rev. B.01.03-B.02.02 The process documented below assumes that the data has transferred to the database using the normal spooling process. You may need to check the spooler icon in the system taskbar. It looks like this: If there is no spooler icon in the system tray, or the spooler color is green (as in the picture) then follow the procedure below. If the spooler is blue, please wait until the current spooling process is done. The icon will turn green, and you can then proceed. If it is red, please clear the spool queue before proceeding. Please see the document Clearing Jobs from a Red (Halted) Spooler ChemStore (A05319.pdf). The data can be retrieved as single-run data, sequenced data, or as a batch. Retrieving Single-run or Sequenced Data from ChemStore To retrieve sequence or single-run data from ChemStore for further processing in ChemStation: 1. Log into the ChemStore Review Client. This can be found in the ChemStore CS program group, accessible from the Windows Start button. Click on Start! Programs! ChemStore CS! ChemStore Review Client. 2. Once Review Client is running, perform a query for the data you wish to download. For basic instructions on how to perform a query, please see the topic Specifying a Query in the help system. It can be found in the Help Topics panel. Click on the This document is believed to be accurate and up-to-date. Help menu, select Help Contents, double-click on the book labeled ChemStore, then Select Tasks, and finally Tasks for Chemists. You will find Specifying a Query among the list of choices in that topic. 3. Once you have a list of runs in the run list panel on the left part of your screen, highlight one of the runs from the set. 4. Click on the Run Information button, located just above the run list panel. It looks like this: 5. This will cause a panel to be displayed that looks like this: m.agilent.com Page 2 of 5
6. To download just a single data file, click on the Reload raw data button. To reload the method, click the Reload method button. To download the sequence, click the Reload sequence button. If you wish to download the entire sequence including all data files and methods, click the Reload all files button. 7. You will then be requested to provide a destination to which the data files will be loaded on the local PC. The default is c:\, which will load them all into the root directory on your primary hard disk drive. This is usually not a good idea. It is best to specify another location. Please note that if you want to reprocess a sequence, you must specify the same path that was used for the original data files. This can be found in the Run Information panel. 8. After you have clicked OK, the system will download the file(s) you ve selected to the location you specified on your ChemStation system. You may now display, report, reprocess or perform other tasks in ChemStation with the data using the standard ChemStation operations (e.g. Load Signal, Run Sequence, etc.). 9. Please note that if you reprocess the data, the results will be sent to the database, as a new revision. If your study configuration specifies so, the raw data will once again be deleted from the local disk drive. Note that if your system includes Security Pack, this is the default behavior of the system. You can change this behavior by modifying the study settings in ChemStore Review Client. In order to do more processing on the data, you should return to step 2 of this section and repeat the process. Retrieving Data from ChemStore as a Batch To retrieve data from ChemStore as a batch for further processing in ChemStation: 1. You will find Specifying a Query among the list of choices under that topic. 3. Once you have a list of runs in the run list panel on the left part of your screen, you can select all of the runs that were retrieved in your query by right-clicking on the highlighted line, and selecting All For Batch Processing. Alternatively, you can select individual runs you wish to include in the batch by highlighting the specific m.agilent.com Page 3 of 5
line, right-clicking on it, and selecting Batch Processing. A B will appear in the Mark run for column of the list for each run you have selected. 4. Click on the Create a New Batch button. It should look like this: 5. A panel should now be displayed that looks like this: m.agilent.com Page 4 of 5
6. Select the runs you wish to include in the batch by highlighting them in the left-hand panel, and then clicking the > button. All runs can be moved using the >> button. 7. Enter a comment in the Comment field. Please note this comment, as you will need it to retrieve your batch in ChemStation later. 8. You can also select a specific method (related to the selected files) to associate with the entire batch, or limit the batch notification to a specific user in the fields to the right of the comment field. 9. Click the Submit batch button. The system will create the batch. 10. Log into ChemStation using the same database alias as that which you used in Review Client to do the query. If you limited the batch notification to a specific user in step 8, log in as that user. 11. Navigate to the Data Analysis view. Select Batch! Load Batch! From ChemStore 12. From the Load Batch panel, highlight the batch you wish to load, and click the Load Batch button. 13. Perform the batch operations you wish to perform. 10. Please note that as you reprocess the data, the results will be sent to the database as a new revision. If your study configuration specifies so, the raw data will once again be deleted from the local disk drive. Note that if your system includes Security Pack, this is the default behavior of the system. You can change this behavior by modifying the study settings in ChemStore Review Client.
