Additional College Requirements (Will not apply until finished with coursework) Date Submitted to ODS Statement of Total Program Statement of Residency Recommendation for the Award of the M.Phil. Degree The Statement of Total Program is a complete list of courses taken as part of fulfilling program requirements that has been developed by the Office of Doctoral Studies. The Statement of Residency is a description of the activities you have engaged in, over and above course work, that have contributed to your education and professional socialization. Such activities include but are not limited to: attending conferences and professional meetings, publishing papers, participating in professional training outside of course work, working on program committees, attending professional social events in the program, College, and greater professional community. Recommendation for the Award of the M.Phil. Degree is a form that is submitted to the Office of Doctoral Studies with the request to file with GSAS. The student must be recommended by the Area Committee for the award of the M.Phil. degree which signifies (a) certification as a Ph.D. degree candidate who may continue the dissertation requirement under the auspices of the Teachers College faculty, or (b) certification as a Ph.D. degree candidate who may continue the dissertation requirement by the extra muros route. This form is submitted at the time of the student s successful proposal hearing. The student should notify the Program Manager of the proposal hearing date to ensure that the dissertation sponsor has the M.Phil. form ready to sign upon the successful conclusion of the proposal hearing. 7 of 8
