Information Introduction the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) have a number of key responsibilities including: Establishing suitable training for all adults involved with all registered early years settings Ensuring all childcare settings meet national compliance for the qualifications and experience required by staff How to view and book on a course you will find a detailed guide to setting up your online training account and how to book onto courses attached. Please read the information carefully as you will need to book all your training via our on-line booking system. Booking fees we have revised costs of courses this year (2015-16) to enable settings to participate in more training courses. When you book a course on-line, this will only be confirmed by e-mail once we have received your fee. We accept cheques (made payable to the Vale of Glamorgan Council) or cash to be handed in person correspondence address for either of these is: Debbie Maule, Provincial House, Kendrick Rd, Barry. CF62 8BF courses are free to you but not us if you fail to turn up or fail to give at least 48 hours notice of cancelling a place, you will be charged 20 Attendance When offered a place on a course, it is imperative, unless illness occurs, that you make every attempt to attend as you may be taking a vital place that someone else would like or needs to attend. Remember: It is your responsibility to ensure that you have made a note of the date, time and venue for your confirmed training. Reminders will be sent out wherever possible. Refreshments tea, coffee and water will be provided where possible, free of charge by the EYDCP for training sessions. If you are attending training all day, it will be your responsibility to bring your own lunch. Family Information Service (FIS) - is a statutory requirement in the Vale of Glamorgan and offers a service to parents/carers and professionals of children and young people aged 0-20years who require information on a range of early years,
childcare and family support services. As well as the on-line booking system, the Family Information Service regularly updates their website of any information on grants, additional training, events etc. What are the advantages of being included on the FIS database? The FIS will, Provide information to enquirers about childcare provision Advertise your business free of charge on their website Ensure that news of any grants, additional training, early years events etc. are automatically sent to you. It is your responsibility to ensure that your details are kept up to date in order to receive additional information PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE FAMILY INFORMATION SERVICE TO BOOK TRAINING COURSES; THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO THIS. Code of conduct when attending any of the Early Years training courses, we ask for the co-operation of all participants, all trainers and learners are encourage to listen to and consider each other s points of view but please remember that the trainer is an expert in their particular field and therefore we ask that you respect this. Participants are to familiarise themselves with health and safety by being aware of the facilities and emergency procedures. We would ask all participants to either switch off or at lease put mobile phones on silent. It can be very disruptive during a session to have mobile phones ringing. Please note: failure to abide by the Code of Conduct may result in you being asked to leave the training session and exclusion from any future training courses.
