QUATREX INFO Pre-fabricated QUATREX Storage and Processing Buildings i Chemical storage buildings are designed to provide safe and secure storage and processing of your hazardous materials. Each QUATREX building comes complete with a compliant secondary spill containment sump. QUATREX wide product range of 5 Standard Building sizes, plus custom lengths to 40 feet insures that you get the right product for your application, not a one size fits all solution. In fact, we have the widest range of storage solutions available from any single manufacturer. Common Applications: Process enclosures: Pumping, mixing, dispensing, paint kitchen. Remote storage: Waste collection, fuel dispensing. Agricultural chemical storage: Parks and recreation, golf courses. Secured storage and separation: Toxic, dangerous, valuable materials. HazMat storage of drums handled by hand. Sizes and Construction: Available in 8, 10 and 1 foot widths with lengths from 8 to 40 feet. 5 standard sizes (8 to 95 drum capacity). Coated with a UV and weather resistant finish on the exterior and an epoxy, chemical resistant finish on the interior. The floor grating is hot dipped galvanized for spark and corrosion resistance. All interior electrical wiring is Class 1, Zone 1 all exterior wiring meets NEMA 4 standard. All electrical wiring complies with NEC. C.S.A. where fire walls are required, QUATREX uses ULC listed assemblies. Applicable Regulations: Hazardous materials storage is regulated by the M.O.E. AND FIRE CODE at the federal level. At the provincial and local level, Fire Codes, NFPA 30 (Storage and Handling of Flammable Liquids), Building Codes and other requirements specific to all provinces jurisdictions may also apply. Typical local building code issues include: wind load, snow load, seismic zone, fire rating and separation of flammable storage from the nearest building. QUATREX designs its HazMat storage buildings to be compliant with all recognized National Codes and generally accepted national standards. In addition to federal and local regulations, risk management organizations, such as Factory Mutual (FM Global), have developed their own standards. Most QUATREX HazMat storage buildings for outdoor placement can be shipped bearing the FM 6049 approval label. Due to local code variance and different enforcement philosophies, QUATREX always recommends checking with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction to verify that a specific configuration will comply with local codes. 5
