Session Description and Speakers Saturday, July 25 1:30 p.m. 2:15 p.m. In 2014, California State University Long Beach (CSULB) joined the Education Advisory Board (EAB) Student Success Collaborative and introduced a number of electronic advising tools that can be calibrated to serve the university s diverse student body. Predictive analytics, early alerts and student degree planners reshape the traditional advising appointment and help ensure that students remain on track. Hands-on faculty mentoring of students on probation as well as proactive academic major and career exploration are resources offered collaboratively by Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. Enrollment Services (housed in the Division of Administration and Finance) is actively involved in these efforts and officially liaises with the vendor for continued customization of the advising system to best suit the needs of the university. The presentation highlights e-advising campaigns as well as showcases early intervention strategies employed by CSULB.
