CHABOT COLLEGE NURSING PROGRAM TWO CAMPUSES: Hayward Campus Main campus in Hayward Established in 1965 Accepts 40 Students each Fall semester (August) Livermore Campus Campus established in 2003 in a partnership with ValleyCare Health Systems Lectures are telecast and are interactive. Accepts 10 Students each Fall semester (August)

Background and Drug Screening Hospitals are requiring that nursing students complete the following which is required of all employees All students complete a background check for convictions of any crime (misdemeanor or felony) AND a 10 panel urine drug screen. A social security number is required. Depending on the conviction, the hospital may deny a student s access. If you have something in your past please get it expunged before applying. If a drug screen is POSITIVE for non-prescription drugs you will not be eligible for the program.

PREREQUISITES Your are required to complete all pre-requisites prior to applying the nursing program. Completion date: Fall 2014 RN(Generic) December 31, 2013 Fall 2014 LVN July 31, 2014 You may only earn one C in the combined science pre-requisites. Science GPA required 2.5 The is NO RECENCY requirement for any courses completed. As long as you attended an ACCREDITED COLLEGE.
Combined Science Classes If taken as a combined Anatomy and Physiology, the course must have an A and B or 1 and 2 AND must be taken at the same college /university. All work in the science (or other courses) must be from an accredited college or university and the courses must be equivalent to Chabot courses. Example: Chabot Biology 50 is a combined A&P and will not meet the nursing requirement.
TRANSCRIPTS Do not order transcripts from Chabot College or Las Positas College we have transcripts from coursework taken at either college. ALL transcripts from other colleges MUST be MAILED to Chabot College Admissions and Records or included with your application. Hand carried transcripts or applications will not be accepted.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TRANSCRIPTS? After you have requested the transcripts, verify on the Class-Web the official date of receipt or if transcripts are on file. Evaluations of will be completed only if ALL transcripts are received. Missing transcripts will disqualify student.

Below Passing If you do not pass the test you must remediate. Following successful remediation, the candidate must reapply to the nursing program (just as before) and be TEAStested again.

ADVANCED STANDING STUDENTS LVN RN students are admitted, spaceavailable, depending on prior coursework completed with a C or higher and completion of testing process
ADVANCED STANDING (LVN- RN Program) Applications are only available between March 1 and October 31. (on website) This is an onscreen application, must be completed, signed and mailed to Chabot College. ADVANCED STANDING all science prerequisites must be completed with C or above.
