We are pleased to announce updates to SelectPLUS auto and personal umbrella new business processing. In certain circumstances, SelectPLUS will now automatically provide you with driver, vehicle and prior insurance information. These changes are intended to help you save time, help your customers by reducing the documentation needed when quoting new business and help Selective obtain more accurate driver and prior insurance history. These changes will be introduced for all new auto and personal umbrella quotes started in SelectPLUS on and after March 10, 2011. External Data* *Note that data received from LexisNexis will vary depending on if the quote was initiated from a comparative rater or was entered directly into SelectPLUS. Only drivers found in the household not listed on the quote and the prior insurance history will be returned for new quotes started via a comparative rater (EZLynx / PL Rating), or xselerate (Transformation Station TM / TransactNow). This is because the driver and vehicle information was already provided on the quote. For the purposes of this section, we are referring to these types of quotes as through Agency Integration (AI). See additional processing requirements in the SelectPLUS Processing Auto Quotes initiated from a comparative rater (EZLynx / PL Rating), or xselerate (Transformation Station TM / TransactNow) then moved to SelectPLUS section. Effective with new quotes started on and after March 10, 2011, Selective will automatically obtain additional external data on auto and personal umbrella new business. We encourage you to verify this information with your customer. The external data we will obtain from LexisNexis includes: Driver information name, date of birth (for quotes through AI date of birth is not received), driver s license number (for quotes through AI a full license number is not received) o drivers include drivers in the household not listed on the Selective quote Vehicle information year, make, model, vehicle identification number (no vehicle information is returned for quotes started through AI) Five year prior insurance history prior carrier name, prior carrier policy number, expiration date of immediate prior insurance, length of time with immediate prior carrier, length of continuous coverage (regardless of prior carrier) lapse(s) in coverage, prior Bodily Injury limits, prior Property Damage limits (all prior insurance information will be received for quotes started through AI) Also, in instances where LexisNexis either found no information or information was not available, the user would be able to process the new quote as they do today, by individually inputting the vehicle, driver and prior insurance history information. In some instances this data will not be ordered. Requotes to MATRIX SM (an auto non-matrix SM to a MATRIX SM ) and PUP Create New Submission (started from an auto) will not have external data ordered. Data Prefill Must Dos We want you to be aware of a few important processing tips associated with the Data Prefill change: Confirm all received information We encourage you to verify with your customer all the information received from LexisNexis. Use the Data Prefill screen to pass the information to SelectPLUS With this change, we are introducing a Data Prefill screen. Once you leave the Date Prefill screen, you will no longer be able to change the data on the screen. We encourage you to pass forward as much data as possible to the SelectPLUS quote. The information can be edited further in the quote (on the driver, vehicle or policy tabs). Page 1

SelectPLUS Processing Auto Quotes Initiated Directly into SelectPLUS For auto quotes started directly in SelectPLUS, all external data will automatically be ordered when the user moves from the Insured tab. At the bottom of the Insured tab a new Date Prefill tab is listed. Page 2
For quotes started in SelectPLUS, the Data Prefill screen will include all the information returned from LexisNexis. This will include drivers, vehicles and policy (prior insurance) information. All of the information returned from LexisNexis will be checked to automatically pass forward the information to the SelectPLUS quote. If the user wishes to not include some of the information on the SelectPLUS quote, they will need to uncheck the check box in the Add column for the information being excluded. If any driver or prior carrier information is not going to be passed to the SelectPLUS quote, then a reason will be required. The available reasons will be enabled in the drop down box associated with that specific information. The last five characters of the license number are masked. When you move to the Driver screen the license number can be viewed in full. This will assist you in validating the license number prior to ordering the motor vehicle record. As we mentioned earlier, we encourage you to verify the driver s license number with your customer. Page 3
If the user does not want either, one of the drivers or the prior insurance history to pass to the SelectPLUS quote, they should uncheck the box. The Reason drop down box will be enabled and the user will need to select from one of the available reasons. For drivers, if the user wants one of the drivers to be a Household member, then they should check the Household Member checkbox. Otherwise the driver will be passed to the quote as a driver. Note that in some instances an additional driver is found, but a driver s license is not available. Users will need to verify the driver s license with the insured. After the user proceeds into the SelectPLUS quote, the information on the Data Prefill screen will only be available in view mode. This view only functionality will be the same for auto quotes processed directly into SelectPLUS, auto quotes started from comparative raters or for personal umbrella quotes. Page 4
SelectPLUS Processing Auto Quotes Initiated from a Comparative Rater (EZLynx / PL Rating), or xselerate (Transformation Station TM / Transact Now) then Moved to SelectPLUS For auto quotes initiated from a comparative rater (EZLynx / PL Rating), or xselerate (Transformation Station TM / TransactNow)then moved into SelectPLUS, the additional driver and prior insurance information will automatically be ordered when the user orders the CLUE Report. The vehicle information will not be ordered as the vehicle information was provided from the insured with the comparative rater input. When the user receives the CLUE report message, selecting either OK or Continue will bring the user to the Data Prefill screen. The Data Prefill screen will have mostly the same structure and capabilities as the Data Prefill screen for quotes that are processed directly into SelectPLUS. Page 5
In instances where LexisNexis finds a driver that was not on the initial quote, the driver will appear in the Data Prefill screen highlighted in yellow. If the user does not want to pass the newly found driver or prior insurance information to the SelectPLUS quote, they will need to uncheck the check box and a reason will be required. After the user proceeds into the SelectPLUS quote, the information on the Data Prefill screen will only be available in view mode. When an additional driver is found that is going to be added to the SelectPLUS quote, the user will need to verify the driver s license number and date of birth. Users will receive a reminder once they move off the Data Prefill screen. Page 6
SelectPLUS Processing Personal Umbrella Quotes in SelectPLUS For personal umbrella quotes, once the user has completed the Insured and Loc tabs, SelectPLUS will order the data prefill information. The driver, vehicle and prior insurance information will be forward filled on the Policy, Limits/Cov and Underlying tabs in SelectPLUS. The Data Prefill screen will appear and function the same as it does for auto. If the user does not want to include one or more of the drivers or prior insurance information, a reason is required. The user would select the reason from one of the choices in the drop down box. Page 7
The user will be able to update or change the prior insurance information in the Prior Carrier Information section of the Policy tab. The fields and information here will be the same as that which is displayed for auto. The user can also view either the Data Prefill screen or the Current Carrier report from the links in the Prior Carrier Information section. The driver and vehicle information passed from the Data Prefill screen will appear in the Vehicle and Driver summaries on the Auto report screen. Like the auto process, users will need to verify the driver date of birth and license number.
