Brief Introduction STAR AMI management system is used to manage smart meters and terminals which comply with STS,DLMS/COSEM standard and support TCP/IP communication.

System Functions A Server of GPRS (A) The system working in electricity company computers, part of management system(ms),this system could realize the function of TCP Server terminal, which may accept some of the links from energy meter terminals (TCP client). After connected, management system could read and write data from meter through DLMS/COSEM protocol. Server of AMI data access (B) The system working in electricity company computers, used as a bridge to connect Server of GPRS (A), Management sub system (C) and Database (D). Receive data from A and store it to D, transfer the meter reading task and meter parameters from C to A, and A will send to meters. Management sub system (C) The system working in electricity company computers, part of management system (MS). The main operations for AMI system mostly operate in this system : user registration, meter registration, parameter insertion, add/fix/delete energy meter data, report printing, etc. Alarm sub system (F) When there is exceptions (e.g. open cover), the communication module (CM) shall contact management system automatically, and send the data to data base. Alarm sub system (F) shall display the events on the map timely, when necessary, Alarm sub system could generate order to arrange person to the site to deal with the exception, when the person come back, he should register the result to system and end exception event.
System Functions B Database (D) All the data generate by system shall be gathered to Database (D). This system adopt relational database SQL Server. Server of billing alarming data access (E) The system working in electricity company computers,working as a bridge between Database (D), Management sub system (C), Alarm sub system (F), Interface between bank and Electricity company (G), Interface between pay point and Electricity company. This system also generate STS Token. Point of power selling Point of power selling:type A,Bank outlets;type B, Pay point;type C,Post office, Super markets etc. Type A complete in bank system getting token through interface between bank and electricity company; Type B complete from pay point getting token through interface between pay point and electricity company; Type C complete through the AMI system of electricity company. Interface between bank and Electricity company (G) The system working in electricity company computers, which is bridge between AMI system and bank system. When user buy power from sales point, bank system get the TOKEN generate by AMI system through interface, and transfer the user s purchase data to Database of AMI system.

System installation and arrangement 1. Install database(d) 2. Install Server of AMI data access (B) 3. Install Server of billing and alarming data access (E) 4. Install Server of GPRS (A) 5. Item6 is power selling system, which install in pay point Item 4,5,7 install in office computer of electricity company.
Interface with other system Bank Billing system interface Need to complete system interface between bank and electricity company, need to negotiate with bank. This system has following functions: Identification of people, power selling, power selling revision, cancelation of power selling. Pay point system interface Need to complete system interface between pay point and electricity company, and negotiate with pay point company. The functions of this system is same with bank. ETAIS system interface Phase 1:data inquiry/printing add inquiry function in ETAIS, through ETAIS, electricity company staff could inquire the selling and consumption data of AMI system. Phase 2:User selling and consumption data ETAIS data base generate corresponding tables, acquire data from AMI database at regular time, ETAIS system analyze the data from AMI system and other information. Phase3:Add critical data table in ETAIS which is demand by AMI system, SERVER B and SERVER E connect to EAIS database directly, data update to ETAIS at real time. Phase 4:Add corresponding functions of management sub system in ETAIS,to replace management sub system In phase 3, phase 4, the sub system of AMI need to do corresponding modification.
System Safety The safety of Billing System is based on STS. The safety of energy meter data reading and data modification is based on the safety of DLMS/COSEM password verification system: Layer design, terminal software communicate with data base through middle layer to ensure the safety of database server; Terminal PC adopt backup method, when operator log on terminal system, system will verify the legal validity of the terminal PC.
