What It Is: GAF and Habitat For Humanity have developed a program that will benefit both the communities and contractors who participate. Here s how it works: Habitat For Humanity builds and renovates houses for families in need of affordable housing GAF provides roofing materials GAF Master Elite and Certified Contractors provide labor Participating contractors will be recognized for their contribution and may present themselves as local partners in the GAF Habitat For Humanity Community Contractor Program GAF will also donate a System Plus Ltd. Warranty for each new roof installed under this program Contractor Advantages: Differentiation... Positions you as a strong supporter of your community who can be trusted Identification... You will receive access to special logos to use in marketing materials, as well as an I.D. card and certificate Web Recognition... GAF s Contractor Locator will identify your Habitat for Humanity designation Your Contribution: There are three ways to earn your designation Install roofing on two new Habitat For Humanity homes per year OR Install one reroofing project per year that includes a complete tear-off and replacement OR Donate labor on two non-roofing projects per year (only when roofing is not needed locally see details in Qualifying Projects ) Who Can Obtain And Use This Designation: GAF Master Elite and Certified Contractors How to Get Started: Step 1 Enroll Through the Certified Contractor Zone (ccz.gaf.com)... 1) Select Tools for Success 2) Select Reinforce Trust 3) Select Habitat For Humanity Community Contractor Program 4) Select Habitat For Humanity Program Agreement available on document download center Email will be sent to acknowledge registration Step 2 Arrange A Project by contacting your local Habitat For Humanity affiliate. You are responsible for working directly with the local affiliate and mutually agreeing with the affiliate on how you will support them on specific jobs (e.g., if roofing is needed or not, or if a tear-off is required and how it will be disposed of). Step 3 Complete The Project... You are responsible for purchasing and bringing all required roofing material to the job site. You will subsequently be given a material credit for GAF-designated roofing material by GAF. All jobs should use approved GAF Shingles and GAF Accessories. GAF will only reimburse you for material by means of a material credit. See details under Roofing Project Requirements. Step 4 Record the Project Obtain a Habitat For Humanity Job Registration Form on the GAF Certified Contractor Zone, fill in all required information, and attach receipts. Once all documentation is complete, please submit via: Email: CCP@gaf.com Fax: 973-628-3866 Mail: GAF Attn: CCP 1 Campus Drive Parsippany, NJ 07054 Warranty NOTE: GAF will supply the System Plus Ltd. Warranty after the roof is registered. Contractors do not have to register this warranty. Step 5 Receive Your Recognition And Material Credit After receiving and validating your job record, GAF will send you a certificate; the Habitat For Humanity logos are available through the Certified Contractor Zone. We will also send you a material credit (within 2 months of receipt of all required information) that you can redeem at a GAF stocking distributor of your choice. Step 6 Keep Supporting The Program... As noted, membership in this program requires that you install two new Habitat For Humanity roofs, or one reroof/ tear-off, or two days of equal labor per year.

Qualifying Projects: Contractors can install roofing OR contribute labor for other needed projects designated by local Habitat For Humanity affiliates. You need two (2) total labor units to be eligible. New Construction... One (1) unit of labor donation can be obtained when installing roofing on newly constructed homes. This would be 1 new roof completely installed. (Note: the average new home is 15 squares.) If a contractor installs two new roofs per year, they will be eligible. Reroofing... Two (2) units of labor donation can be obtained when a complete tear-off and replacement is completed. If a contractor completes one reroofing project per year, they will be eligible. Note: GAF does not support roofing over existing roofing, and therefore will not support labor or material donations in this manner. Only one unit of labor can be obtained for a reroofing job that does not include tear-off. Non-Roofing Labor... When a new roof is NOT needed locally, contractors can choose to provide labor for other needed projects designated by local Habitat For Humanity affiliates. To be eligible with non-roofing labor, contractors need to supply 40 man hours of labor to obtain 1 unit of labor contribution. If a contractor completes two days of non-roofing labor as described above, they will be eligible. When a roof needs repairs, contractors only receive credit if they donate 40 man hours of labor, which equals 1 labor unit. Contractor eligibility begins with one project or one unit of labor completed and registered with both the local Habitat For Humanity affiliate and GAF s Certified Contractor Program. To complete eligibility requirements, a second roof or labor unit must be completed within 12 months of the registration of the first project or labor donation. Individual contractor s eligibility term begins and ends with the calendar date of the registration of their first project. The term is based on this date, not an end-of-year calendar. Roofing Project Requirements: All GAF Habitat For Humanity Community Contractor Program installations must use GAF Shingles and Accessories from the GAF Lifetime Roofing System. * GAF will provide reimbursement for the following products only (if you choose to install other products, you may do so at your own expense): - Eligible Shingles Timberline Natural Shadow, Timberline HD, and Royal Sovereign Shingles - Roof Deck Protection Shingle-Mate Roof Deck Protection (preferred) or any other GAF Roof Deck Protection available through distribution - Leak Barriers WeatherWatch or StormGuard Leak Barriers (preferred) or any other GAF Leak Barriers available through distribution - Ventilation Any Cobra (preferred) or Master Flow Ventilation Product installed at the ridge, to meet local codes - Ridge Cap Shingles Ridglass, Seal-A-Ridge, Z Ridge, or Timbertex Ridge Cap Shingles (all preferred), or any other GAF Ridge Cap Shingle available through distribution - Starter Strip Pro-Start Eave/Rake Starter Strips Participating contractors are responsible for working with their local Habitat For Humanity chapter in determining who is responsible for tear-offs, disposal, and other activities required for a roofing installation. GAF is only responsible for providing a material credit to contractors for GAF roofing material for approved Habitat For Humanity installations where the contractor has donated labor and expertise for installing a roof. GAF is not responsible for any other expenses incurred with respect of the installation. All projects are to be installed according to local codes and GAF s Pro Field Guide specifications. The installation of Leak Barrier over the entire roof, double felting, etc., are not required, and GAF will not offer a material credit for extra material costs of this kind. Any and all roofing projects over 30 squares require preapproval from GAF s Certified Contractor Program team. Call 888-532-5767, option 3, for approval of projects over 30 squares. Purchase, delivery, and cost of all non-gaf roofing materials, like drip edge, nails, flashing, sealants, etc., are to be coordinated locally between you and the Habitat For Humanity affiliate. GAF will not offer a material credit for these materials. Thank you for your interest in the GAF Habitat For Humanity Community Contractor Program, and for making a real difference in your community. *See GAF Shingle & Accessory Ltd. Warranty for complete coverage and restrictions. The word Lifetime means as long as the original individual owner(s) of a single-family detached residence [or the second owner(s) in certain circumstances] owns the property where the shingles and accessories are installed. For owners/structures not meeting the above criteria, Lifetime coverage is not applicable. Lifetime ltd. warranty on accessories requires the use of at least three qualifying GAF accessories and the use of Lifetime Shingles.

& AboutHabitatForHumanity Founded more than 37 years ago by Millard and Linda Fuller, the concept that grew into Habitat For Humanity International was born at Koinonia Farm, a small, interracial Christian community outside of Americus, Georgia. The Fullers first visited Koinonia in 1965 after having recently left a successful business and an affluent lifestyle in Montgomery, Alabama, to begin a new life of Christian service. It was at Koinonia that the Fullers met Clarence Jordan and, together, they came up with the idea of the Fund for Humanity. In 1968, the Koinonia community began work to build homes and sell them to families in need at no profit and no interest, which would be the foundation for Habitat For Humanity. In 1976, after the Fullers traveled to Africa to test the principles of Partnership Housing and the Fund for Humanity, they returned to Americus, Georgia, and formed Habitat For Humanity. In 1984, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, took their first Habitat work trip, the Jimmy Carter Work Project, to New York City. Their personal involvement in Habitat s ministry brought the organization national visibility and sparked interest in Habitat s work across the nation. As a result, Habitat experienced a dramatic increase in the number of new affiliates around the country. In 1991, Habitat s 10,000th house was built in Atlanta, Georgia, and Habitat s first all-women-built house was completed in Charlotte, North Carolina. A Habitat affiliate in Winnipeg, Canada, opened the first Habitat ReStore outlet, which sells quality used and surplus building materials donated from outside companies and organizations, and the first international campus chapter was chartered at the University of Technology in Lae, Papua, New Guinea. In 1996, Habitat dedicated its 50,000th house worldwide in Pensacola, Florida, while the 50,001st house was celebrated in Mexico City. Habitat also began building in its 50th nation Romania. Just one year later, Habitat s 60,000th house was dedicated in Dallas, Texas. By 2004, Habitat organizations in more than 100 countries had built 50,000 houses in the U.S. and more than 150,000 around the world. In 2005, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Habitat celebrated the construction of its 200,000th house, providing safe and decent shelter for one million people since its founding in 1976. Several months later, Habitat launched Operation Home Delivery to help provide assistance and rebuild along the U.S. Gulf Coast in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. On November 13, 2008, Habitat For Humanity raised the walls on its 300,000th house in Collier County, Florida; the next day, work began on the 300,001st house in Zacapa, Guatemala. Today, Habitat For Humanity has more than 1,500 local affiliates in the United States and more than 70 national organizations around the world. Together, they have helped to build or repair more than 800,000 houses and serve more than 4 million people worldwide.
