Cloud Computing with Fujitsu Cloud Computing is establishing itself in the business world much faster than any other previous technological development. Why is that? Because it is a customer-centric and very efficient model for provisioning IT as a service. It offers high scalability and helps enterprises quickly adjust their existing business models and introduce new ones to meet business changes. At the same time, IT organizations see Cloud Computing as a way to escape from the typical IT dilemma calling for reductions in investments and operating costs while also demanding higher service quality and better business support through innovations. Enterprises facing economic challenges in global competition come together with their IT organizations in the cloud. And this quickly increases the importance of Cloud Computing from the entrepreneurial perspective. However, there is still some uncertainty on the part of enterprises: Is this model so mature that it can be enhanced and developed further? What is the status of data and access protection, compliance with legal requirements, and the integration of business processes and cloud services? Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud is the logical further development of the Dynamic Infrastructures strategy. Based on that strategy, Fujitsu has developed customer-centric solutions, which enable you to use Cloud Computing in your enterprise in ways that are easy and secure. It is a very flexible concept that helps IT organizations meet the challenges posed by their IT more effectively: Dynamic Cloud Services include standardized IT services from the cloud, which you can use within a very short space of time. And this is possible without having to deal with complex hardware and software. Furthermore, for enterprises that would like to implement their own cloud infrastructure, Fujitsu offers Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures that already have pre-integrated and tested infrastructures. Advantages of Cloud Computing IT that breathes: Enterprises can flexibly adjust their IT performance by accessing an extremely scalable pool of resources. Fewer investments: The hurdles for implementing business models are lower; tedious investment planning is a thing of the past. Reduced fixed costs: In addition to savings in investments, fixed operational costs are transformed into variable costs. At the same time economies of scale reduce the costs for hardware and software. Reduction in vertical integration: The range of IT services that enterprises now provide themselves can be reduced because various services such as server and storage services, development and test environments, backup, applications, etc., can be sourced from the cloud. Consolidation effect: The more IT services an enterprise receives from the cloud, or shifts to the cloud, the higher the degree of consolidation for existing IT environments. More flexibility: The implementation of business models and processes is accelerated. Location independence: Users have better options for accessing IT services from anywhere. Fujitsu offers everything from a single source so that customers can develop and implement IT strategies that seamlessly integrate various provisioning models, meaning their business is supported flexibly and efficiently according to their needs. In addition, they have more scope for development so that they can use their IT to actively meet the wider economic challenges facing them in the competitive global market.

Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud: Higher Dynamics for Enterprises Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud is the most cost-effective and flexible model offered by Fujitsu for provisioning information technology and IT services. Cloud Computing has caused a paradigm shift, which has profoundly changed the way in which IT supports business processes. Previously enterprises had to conduct tedious investment-planning sessions and create detailed implementation and operational concepts every time hardware and software was required now they will be able to draw functionalities from the cloud that are charged on the basis of actual usage. IT is thus evolving into a needs-based service that an enterprise can use for business purposes as required. The Internet, with its ubiquitous availability, is accelerating this development. If one takes a closer look at the technologies behind this trend, one will clearly see that Cloud Computing is not a revolution, but rather the next evolutionary step in the development of IT. This development is the logical result of IT standardization and open source, along with virtualization and automation technologies. Elastic concepts with load-dependent scaling, models for billing performance according to usage, plus resource pools and shared use of infrastructures along with a high degree of automation for provisioning: All of these elements have proven themselves in dynamic data centers for some time now. And Fujitsu has played a major role in shaping these developments. Based on our lean IT concept, we were the first IT vendor to develop a comprehensive portfolio known as Dynamic Infrastructures that integrates the standardization of technology and services and includes dynamic use of resources. Today Dynamic Infrastructures is a comprehensive portfolio that integrates the standardization of both technology and services. When compared with individually customized IT solutions and services, it is clear that standardization delivers even more customer benefits. IT standardization means more reliability, quality, and lower costs, plus the use of tested processes and tools with a high quality assurance, in addition to continuous innovation for your business. Enterprises are thus in a position to improve their IT environments and operations extensively while also having more flexibility to react accordingly to changing business demands. What s more, all of this can be achieved along with considerable cost savings. Enterprise A Enterprise B Dynamic Infrastructures Pooled resources based on industry-standard technology automation virtualization dynamic resource management Available within > products > solutions Enterprise C Services for Dynamic Infrastructures Standardized services for design build operations Traditional procurement processes and cycles have been barriers hindering the use of dynamic IT for business purposes.

However, there have been some limitations to these dynamics. The reasons for this are the existing heterogeneous technologies used in many enterprises, applications that are not multi-client capable, as well as the traditional procurement processes and cycles still found in today s enterprises. Design, assessment of investment requirements, implementation planning, installation, configuration, testing, and operations with a multitude of tasks all of these aspects have required the attention of expert teams that have grown in size. And this has not occurred just once, but rather constantly. This ties up know-how and capital. This can only be changed if we also change the way IT is provisioned and used Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud offers you precisely this option. Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud helps you overcome existing barriers and master the challenges posed by global competition. Due to the fact that you can combine current forms of IT services provisioning with the provisioning of services from the cloud, you can meet your requirements more flexibly and at lower cost. And most importantly: Fujitsu fully supports you every step of the way for both traditional sourcing and provisioning from the cloud with seamlessly integrated solutions. Bridging today and tomorrow Fujitsu offers flexible models that enable you to build upon your current infrastructures so that they are ready for future business requirements. Based on our technology leadership, we improve the efficiency and productivity of our customers, partners, and society as a whole with Dynamic Cloud Services and Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures. With this offering we, give you the ability to quickly and easily take advantage of new business opportunities at both the global and local levels. What s more, we focus special attention on critical matters such as compliance, security, and the integrity and protection of your private data. Fujitsu Dynamic Cloud helps you overcome existing barriers and master the challenges posed by global competition. Enterprise A Enterprise B Enterprise C

You will profit from intelligent solutions that can be implemented in your processes quickly and easily. Dynamic Cloud Services bundle the concrete as a Service offerings. Today, Fujitsu already offers these within the framework of Infrastructure as a Service for Server, Storage and Workplace, as well as Platform as a Service with an ISV program. The offering is continually developed further to meet changing demands. With Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures Fujitsu enables enterprises to build their own clouds on their own premises. And these are capable of connectivity to the Fujitsu Trusted Cloud so that enterprises can also use the additional resources required to perform tasks such as backup and archiving. With Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures Fujitsu responds to the demands of those enterprises that want to build their own clouds while also profiting from the advantages offered by the Public Cloud or the Trusted Cloud. Fujitsu is one of the first vendors to offer this approach to business enterprises. To achieve this goal Private Clouds from Fujitsu are capable of connectivity to the Trusted Cloud in the Fujitsu data center. Enterprises can host their enterprise cloud themselves, or entrust Fujitsu with these operations.

Various types of clouds Cloud Computing is a new form of resource and IT service provisioning that can be organized in various ways in terms of ownership and operation. There are five distinct types of clouds: the Public Cloud, Trusted Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud and Enterprise Cloud. The Public Cloud is a public environment that can be used by any number of persons and enterprises. This means that IT systems are shared by various users to a very high degree, and since the networks are not separated, the user doesn t really know where his data is stored. A Public Cloud offers the best potential in terms of cost-effectiveness, but it only offers nominal data protection and specific availability. Trusted Cloud is not a generally defined term, but it is used by Fujitsu and several other vendors. In this environment a limited number of enterprises share one cloud. By separating the networks this cloud can offer high levels of security. Each enterprise has its own virtual servers and storage systems, which are accessed exclusively via virtual LAN. Fujitsu only offers Trusted Clouds from its own secure data centers. This form of provisioning offers enterprises the benefits of economies of scale along with a high level of security. Trusted Clouds are managed by Fujitsu. The Private Cloud represents an enterprise-specific environment with dedicated IT systems as well as private access and sharing. The strictest rules can be defined and implemented individually. A Private Cloud can be located within an enterprise as well as externally. Private Clouds from Fujitsu are capable of connectivity to the Trusted Cloud in the Fujitsu data center. The Hybrid Cloud is a mixed form with a Private Cloud, Trusted Cloud and/or Public Cloud. Data and applications are segmented according to defined guidelines and business or IT requirements. It is likely that Hybrid Clouds will be widespread in the future mostly as a mixed form of internal and external IT services. Fujitsu offers this concept to enable customers to connect their existing IT environment to the cloud. The external IT services from the cloud are managed by Fujitsu, whereas the internal IT services are managed by the customer, or the customer can delegate complete responsibility to Fujitsu within the framework of Managed Services. The Enterprise Cloud is a cloud that is hosted in the customer s own enterprise data center. In general, this cloud is the property of the enterprise and is mainly configured for users working in various departments throughout the enterprise. Fujitsu offers its Dynamic Infrastructures components for this type of cloud.

High Security Standards Dynamic Cloud Infrastructures Fujitsu offers a holistic security concept covering connectivity, data protection, integrity and availability. Security in the data center can be realized by separating the customer networks in dedicated DMZ entities. Furthermore, IT Security Management from Fujitsu complies with ISO 27001 while data storage complies with country-specific data protection laws and guidelines. For connectivity to the Fujitsu data centers SLA-based concepts are offered, which take the bandwidth, response times and availability of the connection into account. The following variants are available: IPSec VPN via Internet, VPN via MPLS connectivity (Multi Protocol Label Switching) or VPN via dedicated lines. Firewall services are available for these variants. Authentication during connection setup as well as data encryption in WAN and the use of signatures also contribute to the highest levels of privacy and integrity of all data. The concept is systematically enhanced with additional services from Fujitsu that support enterprises in completely safeguarding their communication and their data. Advantages: Data centers in Europe Private Cloud offerings with dedicated hardware, network separation (V-LAN), setup for subsidiaries Certified security for example TÜV Level 4 (physical data security) or ISO and BSI certifications for the most stringent security and compliance standards Access control based on data encryption and dual-component authentication with unique keys Security areas with intrusion prevention systems, virtual firewalls, as well as virus and spam protection For building your own cloud infrastructures Fujitsu offers consistent, standardized and integrated technology hardware, middleware and software products as well as solutions for measuring usage, automatic provisioning and compliance with security requirements. If a Private Cloud is hosted in a customer s data center, this cloud is capable of connecting to a Trusted Cloud in the Fujitsu data center so that additional resources are available as needed. There are several reasons suggesting why it may be better to host a Private Cloud in the customer s data center. For example, this could be the case when legacy software or applications that reproduce business logic cannot fully exploit the potential of Cloud Computing. In Cloud Computing, economic benefits result from standardized technologies, applications and processes in the cases cited this would not be fully guaranteed. It is very likely that hybrid models, comprised of a Private Cloud in the customer s data center connected to the Trusted Cloud in the Fujitsu data center, will be typical and widespread in the future. If some IT services are provided internally while others are delivered externally from the cloud, the bridge between both is of critical importance. Fujitsu can provide this bridge with pre-tested and proven solutions. Furthermore, Fujitsu always ensures that the integration of Private and Trusted Clouds in the enterprise network is achieved with customized host names and IP addresses. Customers access the cloud solution reserved for them using a web portal set up specifically for this purpose. The portal includes a service catalog so that customers can book or cancel specific services as needed.

Dynamic Cloud Services Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Infrastructure as a Service bundles the offerings for provisioning virtual and dedicated servers, storage capacities in various classes as well as workplace environments. By using the platform, software vendors can market their software solutions to enterprises in the form of Software as a Service via the Internet. The package for ISVs includes pre-configured services for online sales as well as the complete IaaS offering. Migrating the applications for the online platform is quick and easy. Fujitsu can provide additional support based on appropriate integration services. Pre-configured services for online sales include for example user registration, customer and subscription management, billing and payment with credit card or bank card. Each online application is now available as SaaS and hosted in one of the appropriate infrastructures in the Fujitsu data center. The Fujitsu ISV Cloud Program offers software vendors everything from a single source so that they can market their software as a service. Cloud consulting How can enterprises benefit from the cloud? How complex is it and what are the possible risks? Every enterprise must determine for itself how much potential is in the cloud, and the options available to improve IT performance must be identified and included in an overall concept. Fujitsu can fully support you in conducting this evaluation: Starting with the definition of objectives, the clarification of IT asset ownership and ending with the definition of the right sourcing strategy. If your enterprise would like to gain some initial experience with Cloud Computing for example in software development or for workplace systems you can take advantage of the Try & Buy option. The consulting also covers the strategic aspects for optimizing internal or cross-enterprise collaboration, business intelligence or even the fulfillment of compliance requirements. Cloud consulting is based on proven methodologies and tools for analysis and planning which Fujitsu has used successfully for many years in international projects. The consulting focuses especially on the integration of Dynamic Clouds in enterprise IT, SLAs as well as data privacy and data security. Software as a Service (SaaS) In this sales model software is marketed via the Internet as a service and billed according to usage. The software is run on PaaS or IaaS. This means that users can easily access the software as needed without any purchase or implementation. Fujitsu does not offer this model at the current time. 10
