E-commerce Guide Designing Your Neto Online Store & Adding Designing Your Online Store Content By Neto E-commerce Solutions Pty Ltd Copyright Neto E-commerce Solutions 2012 www.neto.com.au Page 1

The Neto e-commerce Suite comes with a FREE template, which acts as a base on which to build a world class design. Your Design Options There are a few options available when it comes to designing your Neto e-commerce website. These options are listed below: 1. Design It Yourself or Hire a Designer You and your designer have full access to all your front-end website template files through your administration control panel or via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). If you have html skills, you can edit these templates to meet your design requirements. There are no limitations when it comes to editing your Neto website template files, and we provide a designer s guide packed full of code snippets and examples. When hiring a web designer, be sure to ask to see their portfolio of e- commerce websites. An e-commerce website is very different to a catalogue or information website. Good e-commerce website designers typically charge between $85 and $120 per hour. 2. Utilise Neto s Custom Design Service Neto s team of talented in-house web and graphic designers offer a complete design service, from concept to delivery. Let us design an awe inspiring and functional e-commerce website for your business. You tell us what you want and we deliver. Custom design packages start from under $2,000 and can be delivered in just a few days. 3. Integrate an Existing Design or Template If you have created, found or purchased the perfect design but do not know how to integrate it with the Neto e-commerce Suite, this option is ideal for you. For a fee, Neto s design team can cut, code and integrate practically any design into the Neto e-commerce Suite. This option is also ideal for those who already have a website and want to keep their existing look and feel. Adding Content to Your Website As soon as you have access to your administration control panel, you can start adding content. This includes information pages, product categories, product data, images etc. This content can be added using Neto s web based Content Page 2

Management System (CMS) or by uploading spreadsheets or data feeds using Neto s Data Integration Wizard (DIW). Information Pages The following information pages are typically required by anyone selling anything online. They are also required by banks prior to them issuing you with an online merchant (credit card processing) facility. It is important that the below information pages exist on your website prior to applying for a merchant facility or trading online. About Us explains what your company is all about, where it is located and what products it sells Privacy & Security Policy explains how you manage your customer s personal information, including how you secure this information. Terms and Conditions explains the terms and conditions users of your website must agree to if they wish to use your website. Contact Details contains your physical and postal address as well as your phone number(s) Shipping Rates & Times explains your shipping rates and estimated delivery times. Returns Policy explains what your returns policy is and the steps customers should take to return items. Product Categories Product categories are used to organize your products into easy to navigate verticals for your customers. It is important to plan your product category tree in advance of adding any products. When designing your category tree, remember to take into account future growth plans and the addition of new product lines. With The Neto e-commerce Suite you can have any number of categories and sub categories, you can also add product categories as and when required. You can also add or update categories in bulk with a.csv spreadsheet upload. With Neto, products can be assigned to multiple categories for maximum exposure. We recommend not exceeding three levels in your category tree. For example: >Clothing >> Men s Clothing >> > Pants The above is an example of a category tree that is 3 levels deep. If users cannot find what they are looking for within 3 clicks, your conversion rates will be negatively impacted. Page 3

Product Data There is no limit to the number of products you can have in your Neto product database. You can continually add, update and remove products using the Neto CMS or DIW. Before You Get Started Before adding product data ensure you have the following on hand: 1. Product Description 2. Product Images 3. Product Pricing 4. Weights and dimensions of items (if using weight based shipping calculations) 5. Stock Information You can sell products with multiple variations and you can sell virtual (non-stocked) items. Integrating With Suppliers or Accounting Programs Neto integrates seamlessly with accounting applications such as MYOB and Saasu. It also has the ability to import data using the DIW from third party applications or suppliers. It s important to setup your product data integration rules and processes prior to adding product data using the Neto CMS. In most cases you will be adding to the data that is imported from other applications such as MYOB or Saasu so these integrations must be setup first. Adding Product Data FAQ Can I Update My Products After I Add Them? Yes - you can add, update and delete products at any time. You can even launch your site with a limited range of products, and add to your range as time allows. Can I Bulk Upload Product Images? Yes - you can upload a.zip file of product images. Simply name the image exactly the same as the SKU of the product and upload using the bulk upload feature in your administration control panel. Can I Feed/Upload Product Data from External Sources Such As Suppliers? Yes, you can bulk upload and update product data from external sources such an FTP location, URL or web service. This can be achieved with the Neto DIW. You can also Page 4

manually upload product data files (e.g.: an excel worksheet or.csv file) using the Neto DIW. Is there a limit to the number of products or categories I can have in my database? No, there is no limit to the number of products, product variations or product categories. Can I track my stock numbers / inventory? Yes, you can track the number of items you have in stock using the built in inventory management system. This can help prevent over selling of out of stock items. If you are using our MYOB or Saasu integration module, your stock numbers will be synced with these applications automatically. Alternatively you can feed /upload your stock numbers using the Neto DIW or manually enter your stock numbers using the Neto CMS. Page 5
