Australian citizens and permanent residency holders Please apply through VTAC at www.vtac.edu.au, if during your course you become: an Australian citizen (including dual citizens), or a New Zealand citizen (including dual citizens), or an Australian permanent resident, or a holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa. Monash College Diploma students applying for courses at the Monash University Sunway campus in Malaysia should apply directly to the campus at www.monash.edu.my Step 1: Update your contact details It is important to have your contact details up-to-date. This makes sure that you will receive all the important documents for entry into Monash University. If you have not updated your email contact to your Monash student email account, the documents may be sent to the email you have used in your initial course application. Make sure you check the email you have nominated in your contact details. Step 2: Choose your course You may only choose a course that is an approved destination degree for your diploma. You are guaranteed entry into second year after successfully completing your Monash College Diploma Part 2 and achieving the required minimum. Prerequisite units may be required to qualify for the destination degree. Step 3: Check your entry requirements It is important to check the entry requirements needed to qualify for your destination degree. See pages 3 9. Step 4: Nominate your course preference You may list up to three course preferences. It is important to be realistic with your preferences and ensure you weigh up all of your options. Your course preferences will be assessed in the order you have chosen, so place the course you would most like to study as number one, your second choice in second place, and so on. If you meet the requirements of your first preference, we will send you an offer and will not consider your other preferences. Submit your course preferences by visiting www.study.monash/ how-to-apply/international-student-applications If you wish to keep a copy of your course preference submission, be sure to provide your email address at the end of the online form. A conditional offer letter for your first course preference will be emailed to you after the online submission closing date. Full offer letters will be emailed at least 3 days after results are released. 1
Make early arrangements Bachelor of International Business and Diploma-to-Diploma transfer If you are considering enrolling into the Bachelor of International Business or enrolling from a current diploma course into a Monash diploma course commencing in October 2015, you will need to make note of the following. To ensure you don t miss your compulsory enrolment, you may need to consider making arrangements to arrive in Melbourne before the result release date: 1. Request a conditional electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (ecoe) by emailing mu.documents@monash.edu for Monash University or mc.documents@monash.edu for Monash College. You require a conditional ecoe to obtain a visa so you can arrive in Australia in time to attend your compulsory enrolment. Your request will be considered but approval is not guaranteed. Submit your request as soon as you receive your conditional offer for your course. Requests must be sent by Thursday 30 September, 2015, otherwise they may not be considered. 2. Once your request is approved, you will be invited to accept your conditional offer. If your request is not approved, you will need to wait for your full offer before accepting. You may need to consider deferring to a later intake if you cannot arrive in time for enrolment. Before you apply for a conditional ecoe, please note: n You will not be permitted to enrol in your course until you satisfy all the entry requirements of your conditional offer. If you do not meet the conditions as stated on the offer letter, the ecoe will be cancelled and the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will be notified. n Any refund will be processed according to the refund policy as stipulated in your course conditional offer letter. Any expenses incurred by you, including travel expenses, are your responsibility regardless of the circumstances in which they arose and Monash University or Monash College will not be liable in any way for these expenses. Accepting your offer Accepting your offer is easy. Accept your offer as quickly as possible. Step-by-step instructions are available at: www.study.monash/how-to-apply/international-studentapplications/after-you-apply/accept-your-offer If you have not already received an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (ecoe) necessary for visa application, one will be emailed to you at this point. Make your own travel arrangements aiming to arrive in Melbourne at least two weeks prior to enrolment. This will make it easier for you to settle in and prepare for the start of classes. Discover how Monash College and Monash University can support you with your arrangements by visiting: www.monashcollege.edu.au/new-students www.study.monash/how-to-apply/international-studentapplications/preparing-to-arrive Enrolment and orientation Enrolment is the main step in starting your studies at Monash University. Authority to enrol Prior to your enrolment (2 3 days), you will be emailed an Authority to Enrol letter. This confirms that you have successfully completed the acceptance process and you are ready to enrol. Enrolment You must enrol in person. You must bring the following with you on your scheduled enrolment date: a print-copy of your Authority to Enrol letter your current passport your visa details You will not be able to enrol without these documents. To obtain your scheduled enrolment date, time and location, please visit: www.study.monash/student-life/getting-started Late enrolment It is important to attend your scheduled enrolment. On the day, you will be provided with expert advice and counselling to help you make the correct unit selection within the course. Attending your scheduled enrolment will help you get the best class times. If exceptional circumstances prevent you from being able to enrol at your scheduled time you will need to apply for late enrolment. Email latereg@monash.edu with your full name, ID number, course and reason for late enrolment. Please note that if you are enrolling in a course in business or commerce, attendance is compulsory on the day. The Monash Business School does not permit late enrolments.
