The theme for today s symposium is Women in Leadership: Women Empowering Women. Panelists SUZANNE BEST - FOSTER Vice President, Global IT Services Broadcom Corporation Suzanne Best-Foster serves as Vice President of Global IT Services and Engineering Systems. In this role, she drives strategy, implementation and operational excellence of customer-facing IT support functions, including Desktop Support, Help Desk, IT Customer Service, IT Communications and the global IT Professional Liaison Corps. Suzanne joined Broadcom in 2013 from Jacobs Engineering, an $11B leader in professional technical services. At Jacobs, she served as Vice President of Global Enterprise Infrastructure Services responsible for network operations, voice, messaging and mobile systems, data centers, disaster recovery and business intelligence. She also directed the company s system engineering service portfolio. Suzanne joined Jacobs from SAIC where she held senior positions in Enterprise and Corporate Technology solutions. She directed a team of more than 200 and managed government contracts of more than $10B. Key accomplishments during her 13 year tenure included while reducing self-directed work assignments. In 2013, Suzanne received a Ones-to-Watch award from the CIO Executive Council/CIO magazine. CAROL MOORE Vice President, Executive General Counsel Hyundai Capital America Carol Moore is Vice President and Executive General Counsel of Hyundai Capital America, the U.S. teams. Prior to joining HCA in 2010, Ms. Moore served for 2 years as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Resurgent Capital Services, and for 3 years as Senior Finance Counsel at American Honda Finance Corporation. As part of her nearly 30 years as an Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America. Ms. Moore received her undergraduate degree from Radcliffe College and is a graduate of the Harvard Law School. 7
SHELLIE FREY Vice President, Corporate Communications Golden State Foods Panelists Shellie Frey currently serves as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Golden State Foods, one of communications including media relations, branding, marketing/advertising, video and Web production, event planning, social media and communications to employees, shareholders and customers. She writes speeches for CEO and other executives, strategizes and executes crisis management communications, supports new business pitches, manages internal/external creative teams of event planners, news editorial staff, print production groups, Web developers and video production crews. She also Prior to GSF, Shellie served in a variety of communications roles for a number of companies including: Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, Sussman & Sugar, Marriott International, Mazda USA, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Carl s Jr. Restaurants, Fieldbrook Productions and TouchStone Brigham Young University, where she also taught as a guest professor for several years. MICHELE JOHNSON Partner of Latham & Watkins LLP Michele Johnson is Chair of the Orange County Litigation Department and is recognized as a leading California litigator. Her practice focuses on securities and professional liability litigation where she represents industry-leading Securities class actions, Shareholder derivative litigation, Mergers and acquisitions litigation, SEC enforcement actions, Internal investigations and Other complex, high-exposure litigation. Ms. Johnson s recent representations include M&A litigation brought by sellers shareholders seeking to enjoin transactions, and investigations and litigation related to the mortgage crisis on behalf of both special committees and boards of directors. She has represented pharmaceutical companies in clinical and post-clinical trial phases of development, energy companies in the post-enron era unfair business practices, tax, trusts and estates, and insurance bad faith trials. Ms. Johnson has lectured and written on a variety of topics involving corporate governance, litigation techniques and securities laws issues.
